I think the reasoning behind the not letting stealth mode happen under 50 degrees is because of the engine needing to warm up to rev match properly with the electric motor
@Lizlodude10 ай бұрын
Which is interesting, given that if you are using stealth mode you're going to be pulling away slowly anyways. Seems like a better implementation then would be to warn that the switch will take longer than usual. I'd imagine it's more to do with the tiny battery supplying quite a bit of current to run the still pretty powerful motor, and batteries don't like being put under high load when cold, just like engines. Strange that there isn't an option to pre-start or something and warm up the battery for a few minutes first.

@AleksanderHoff10 ай бұрын
This will probably be quite limited.. meaning we might see the same issues we do with other sports car hybrids that are now pushing 10 years or older. Getting parts for the special made battery packs etc. is often really difficult. One example is the LaFerrari hypercar.. many of them are stuck in place waiting for parts for a year or more whenever something happens to the electrics. Regular EVs and hybrids do not have this problem.. but cars that are less popular often suffer from this in the long run, with no one making the parts anymore. I see it as a risky move to go hybrid on a car like this.. either it should be full on EV, or gas, not something in between… it is literally always the worst of two worlds. More things can go wrong, heavier and usually less efficient unless you charge it up every day from a wall charger.. and often also limited parts meaning long service times.

I'm guessing you can't go into stealth mode when it's cold out because the engine will need to warm up. You wouldn't want to just fire it up and start driving at what ever speed you're cruising at. My question is, what if you were already driving around earlier and the engine is up to temp, can you then use stealth mode in the cold? Would be neat to see.
@wnoyes110010 ай бұрын
It’s a battery limitation. Cold temps limit the output and recharge capability.
@pyRoy610 ай бұрын
Deleted my previous comment after getting the context. It seems a bit strange that it would be so strict, given the state of modern precision manufacturing. The ICE should not need much warm-up time. But given that it doesn't allow you to switch into stealth mode while driving, I'm guessing that they didn't want to complicate the software and/or the user manual.
