Regarding the fact that the Triumpf Trident und Honda CB650R cost exactly the same in Europe, what do you think is the better bike, if the price isn't an issue?

MSRP doesn't mean anything these days. My local Triumph dealer wants a non-refundable deposit and is "thinking" the OTD price will be "around" $10k for this bike.
@Boksburg19824 жыл бұрын
My local dealer has already jacked the price $1000 above MSRP.
@barcibus4 жыл бұрын
@@Boksburg1982 that may be just the start (ADM); when going to OTD price they can disguise additional ADM by charging high fees like "Documentation", etc.

It's going to be about $1000 cheaper than the new 2021 MT-09 too so yeah it is priced well below that category. This bike gets more attractive every day!

The Honda has a quality aluminium frame and swing arm. A $1000 premium is quite an ask but may still be worth it .

I absolutely agree. If a person can swing the kind of money the Triumph cost, .... go for the extra and get the Honda. You'll be riding trouble free for years for not that much more cash.

Hello Yammie. Specs are specs but I think there should be a street comparison with bikes around it's category before declaring that it's king of its class. Also, it seems that the Trident is not meant to carry a passenger for a comfortable ride. Am I wrong? Is there an optional pillion seat?
@actarusfleed66074 жыл бұрын
Looks alone are not enough to justify spending all that money on the Trident. After a few years that's when a solid customer review would be required. Time will tell. There's going to be a lot of guinea pigs out there with their beloved Tridents. I'll wait a few years till I know for sure whether it's a good investment or not. Like all brand new road vehicles, there's always going to be imperfections that will need to be ironed out. When it achieves a good solid reputation, then I'll take an interest.

What about compared to the Vitpilen 701???
@chrishart85484 жыл бұрын
701 has 2 less cylinders but I bet it's still faster. It's lighter and I bet on a Dyno it makes more power than the trident
@jckcc4 жыл бұрын
Pretty funny fact. In Mexico, the Trident is priced at about 9800 USD while the CB650R kept its price of about 9400 USD so here the Honda definitely beats the Triumph, especially if they bring the 2021 version. I guess Triumph doesn’t distribute directly here so they end up adding the distributors’ share to the price, which is just sad

Here in Ph there's just a 40USD difference in the price. With almost the same price tag i think 1extra cylinder (plus power) will be more favorable.

$8000, most bang for the buck. 80 horsepower snd 417 pounds is not a beginner bike, more 2nd bike or intermediate bike. Triples are CROSS PLANE engines. Bidirectional quick shifter very unique for $8000. Triumph is. Premium, European bike vs Honda’s/Yamaha’s. The later are on every corner and 4000 mile service intervals. Triumph hit a home run!!!!
@superflea724 жыл бұрын
at the moment it looks like Australia is only going to get the learner 50hp version. ☹ in Europe, you can upgrade to the 80hp when you're eligible to ride it, but here they think that the under-powered version is the only way to go...I hope they change their minds, because I was really interested in the stronger version of this bike!
