London Beckoned For Songs About Ryan Ross I think its really an important reminder for all of us to be a little more self-aware. Ironically these issues hit when we're not relaxed and you can't ascribe logic to get there. Rather, its better to plod along until things settle down... then look back and go "oh". Mindfulness is a bit of a craze at the moment. You bypass your thoughts and feelings, go straight to your senses. Obviously its not a fix but it offers a short-circuit when the mind/body are... full primate / overstimulated / ruminative / in discomfort / etc. There's usually a good reason but one generally doesn't feel any better thinking, though it can be helpful if we understand how to get to a better place for that particular state of mind. Something that's helped me as of late is knowing that we're basically all highly trained toddlers, we usually assume the worst and nature has us geared to stay safe - even if we're not convinced of it, if all else fails our brain will ensure we land back at home with a cuppa wondering how it happened and we'll be convinced it was our decision ;).

I believe it's a criticism/commentary on the mental health system. He seems to be condemning the way psychiatric doctors and medication can fail the patient tragically (the black box warning on antidepressants that tells us there is a finite but non-zero chance the medication that should make us better may actually make us commit suicide). He also seems to commenting on how often doctors in various parts of the world prescribe medication. In my experience, if the treatment you're receiving isn't working, then you should try something else, and medications such as antidepressants can be very helpful if you're well enough or perhaps just aware enough to be in control of your own recovery.

Dr. Alan Jackson, Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I'm crazy now. Thank you, Dr. Jackson. My life has never been the same. So glad you are a horrible doctor. I've learned so much......that I could have done without learning.

I used to be obsessed with this animation 5 or 6 years ago, but I didn’t UNDERSTAND what any of it actually meant. Coming back,this is one of the best pieces of media to be created. It’s very underrated, and beautifully composed.

***** One of the problems I had when I was dealing with depression a year ago was how everyone was saying that I wasn't actually depressed, even though I didn't have fun doing anything, thought my entire life was pointless, and hated my existence. Even if someone is just sad, don't put them down further by telling them they're whining about a problem they don't have. Try to make them happy, regardless of how sad they are.
@sladikk10 жыл бұрын
***** I got out of depression by doing four things. 1. Surrounding myself with things that were happy rather than sad. Even ironically sad things like this video can get you down. Watch and do happy things. 2. Being more productive. While I was depressed, I didn't want to do anything. Which just caused me more suffering. Work hard at school/work, even though you don't feel like it. 3. Helping others. It is our natural instinct and divine right to be of service to others rather than just to ourselves. The more you selflessly give, the less you'll be focused on yourself and your problems. It may require some sacrifices, but it's worth it in the end. 4. Finally, the change has to come from _within you_. You and only you can decide to be happy. Don't let others tell you that you're anything but joyous, and look for the good in everything you see and do.

I honestly think the video is just abstract. It's whatever you want to make out of it. It gives you bits and pieces, your brain decides how it wants to comprehend the meaning. It's like you're trying to put pieces of a puzzle together that aren't actually there. But with the pieces you can see, your brain can complete the image.
@hedonicmusic10 жыл бұрын
Just like anything else.
@danielson810710 жыл бұрын
Yes, but David Firth's videos give you little or no logic as to what's happening.
@shady409110 жыл бұрын
The Health Reminder series is by far his least abstract work and actually does have a literal meaning.
@alexxomgg9 жыл бұрын
That actually means it's more non-representational as opposed to abstract. With abstract the artist wants you to get into a certain idea creatively or subliminally versus you yourself creating what you believe the meaning is.
@psjennings19 жыл бұрын
The Chosen One The health reminder videos are not abstract, at least not completely. It's a very clear parody with dark cynicism towards modern health practices. There are metaphors everywhere. And themes

If you're the most important brick on the least important wall, the only thing that makes you important are the other bricks on that wall, but in the end, one brick or many, you're important to that wall, to keep it from collapsing, even if it is just a something that will sooner or later be of little value

Thanks for making this! A lot of wisdom here. I don't believe in sickness. A heart condition visited me 1 year ago, I didn't want it. Before going to sleep one night I said out loud (repeated a few times) "No thanks. Body, I command you, release this now. I only do cures and perfect health from this day on". The heart thing hasn't returned.
