Elena going to walk away and then Rebekah telling her more of the story so she’ll stay longer, love to see it. Elena knew what to say to her to get more info. Also Elena being the one to uncover the real story about how their mother was killed, my smart girl 🥰 I love that despite the fact that Rebekah bit her a couple episodes ago and was threatening her in this one, in the end Elena is empathizing with her while talking to Damon Damon and Elena pillow talk, him scaring her in the cave, the playful fight when he says “bang you’re dead”… their dynamic is everything and they’re really just talking about their days to each other 😩 I love Damon and Stefan just having a day together and that we learn so much backstory on the originals in this episode. The flashbacks are always so interesting.

the whole "they knew they weren't allowed" thing and what Klaus knew, I feel the need to point out the nuance: Klaus did not know he was a hybrid, BECAUSE HE WASN'T. He was a boy with a werewolf gene, who didn't know it. he was season 1 Tyler. one cannot be a hybrid... if half of what makes up "a hybrid" DOES NOT EXIST YET.

This episode always stands out to me because of Damon and Stefan's relationship. Like Stefan's humanity is switched off and he still stops Mikael from killing Damon, even though he physically shouldn't be able to care.

No klaus didn't know about hybrid things...he had werewolf gene, the rage and stuff, when he became vampire that rage heighten and he killed someone and trigger the curse, that's how everyone learned including klaus that he is hybrid.

Mikeal didn't break Klaus's compulsion over Stefan. Klaus compelled Stefan to turn off his humanity but he did not day he could'nt turn it back on. Also Stefan had to come up with a loop holeto get Klaus back to Mystic Falls because he was compelled not to say where Klaus was. So Stefan is still compelled by Klaus right now.

LOVE the exploration of the history and lore of vamperism and the Originals. They have such complex relationships with each other, leads to some really intresting family dynamics. Clare Holt is great this ep, you can really feel how devestated Rebekah was by hearing the truth. TVD combines storytelling and flashbacks so well. Really love when they focus on Damon and Stefan's relationship.

Klaus wasn't a hybrid yet he was just a werewolf. Remember Elijah said that their mom had an affair with one of the werewolf which Michael find out and kill the leader of the pack. They turn into vampires a little later after the younger brother got killed by the wolves.

❤Always and Forever, 💯 this always gets me emotional. Great flashbacks in this episode with the Original family, I really enjoyed learning how the vampire mythology came into existence. The Mikaelsons are not just black-and-white villains. Honestly, this is the episode I fell in love with Rebekah. I just love Damon and Elena's relationship development. "I think that you're going to be the one to save him from himself. It won't be because he loves me. It'll be because he loves you".. then just falls asleep with him in her bed. Wow

Stefan never needed draconian Lexi's methods to get his humanity back, he just needed the tender care and some loving kick in the butt from his big brother, the only real loving parental figure he had. The real and the most beautiful love story in the show is between those too, Damon and Stefan. And yes everybody loves Damon, FACT, how can you not to.

SPOILERS... You couldn't be more wrong... If you've seen the entire series you should know Stefan had been a ripper since he became a vampire. It's the way he (and some vampires like Lily and MG are) is and Lexi was helping him, she had helped him before too, numerous times. And let's not forget who was the first person Stefan met in the afterlife.
