True. "Baba O'Riley" at Shepperton Studios is great. "Won't Get Fooled Again" at Shepperton Studios is perhaps the greatest live performance by any band of all time. It is beyond the beyond!

"The Kids are Alright" is a documentary film that came out in 1979 which includes live, promotional performances & interviews with the band members. Shepperton Film Studios is where this was filmed. They filmed in the hangar that was built as the Rebel hangar for the 1st Star Wars movie, which was the largest soundstage in Europe, at the time. 5 coaches of Who fans were shipped in especially for the performance, which was to be Keith Moon's last with the band. Yep, Shepperton is on the outskirts of West London, just South of Heathrow Airport.

The drummer keith moon was the original rock n roller that started the whole smashing up hotel rooms and throwing the television out of the window. I think deep down the band knew he would've be long for this earth, he was absolutely mental but a brilliant drummer.

The Who: the founder is Roger Daltrey the singer (he has been making music since 1958), at the end of 1961, he is joined by John Entwistle the bassist, at the beginning of 1962 Pete Townshend takes his place in the group which was called "The detours" and it is in 1964 that Keith Moon the drummer arrives. First, the group becomes "The High numbers" and very quickly "The Who". The story of a legendary group begins. Namely: Keith Moon died on September 7, 1978 and John Entwistle in June 2002.

Their songs, at least 3 of them, open, and close the C.S.I. shows. CSI Miami, CSI New York, and CSI Las Vegas. " won't Get Fooled Again" "Baba O'Reilly", and "Who Are You", in that order. I watched them all, and enjoyed them. I also love The Who, including the rock opera "Tommy" and even older songs by them. This concert will get your blood pumping lol. And Pete Townsend with his guitar bust ups. Glad this one was suggested to you. Thank you, Saeed. Much love to you and your family. ❤🫂

The guy who did windmill with his guitar is Pete Townshend. He didn't dislocate his shoulder, but once impaled his right palm on his guitar’s tremolo bar during windmilling, and had to be taken to the hospital. 😂
@bostonwhofan2 ай бұрын
The crazy part about the night he impaled his hand in Seattle is, it didn't affect the tour. The Who carried on with Pete wearing a bandage over the wound, but no shows were cancelled.

"Baba o' Riley" = Meher baba, he was an Indian guru who greatly inspired Pete Townshend in his spirituality and philosophy. Terry Riley: American musician who is one of the founders of minimalist music. He also inspired Pete Townshend, notably in the songs on the album Who's Next, Won't Get Fooled Again and Baba O'Riley, whose title is a tribute to Terry Riley's work.

As great as this performance of "Baba O'Riley" is, their performance of "Won't Get Fooled Again" from the same Shepperton Studios gig is even better! The Who's performance of Won't Get Fooled Again (WGFA) at Shepperton Studios is so iconic, the laser equipment that was used at the end of the song ended up being used in the movie "Alien". The movie Alien was being filmed at Shepperton Studios in a studio next to where The Who played this gig. The cast and crew of "Alien" took a break to go watch The Who. They liked the laser show at the end of WGFA so much, they ended up borrowing the laser equipment from The Who and used it in the Alien movie!

One of the last if not the last performance of The Who - Classic. I believe Keith Moon the drummer passed shortly after this. Known as a frenetic but artful drummer he was also a self-destructive lunatic. He was pretty subdued here IMO, probably not well. This was good but there are many videos from late 60's - early 70's where the band was just downright magisterial, the best of the best

@@SaeedReacts. "Teenage Wasteland" is another song written for the rock opera "Lifehouse". It was the original double album that was eventually released as a single as "Who's Next". "Teenage Wasteland" you can hear and see the video of at Pete Townshend's solo concert of the entire "Lifehouse" in 2000 I think. It's a great song too - too bad it wasn't on "Who's Next" from 1971. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3bHqaGrYrV_rbMsi=zTyt96f559nI61us

The meaning of this song has been generally misunderstood. Roger Daltrey originally said the song was his disdain for teenage drug use, specifically what he saw at Woodstock. In later years he would go on to redefine the empetus for the song as he somewhat tried to redefine the Who and their message.
