Dakkon performed super well in the game, I was really happy to see it. This is one of those perfect Dakkon ramp games where the ramp goes perfectly. I run my Dakkon deck similarly to Murph, but I’m always making tweaks, upgrades, and adding new bling. People underestimate the deck in my playgroup and say that I’m handicapping myself by playing Esper lands, but this is more fuel to the fire that it can work! Also, why run a lame card like Multani when you can run the original badass of Magic. I would love to see a new Dakkon in Commander Legends though. Jimmy has heroic intervention in his exile pile and a memory lapse in hand... then taps out for play extra lands. That lost him the game. He knew he was the biggest threat at the time and would’ve probably won his next turn if he just kept open his mana for responses. BIG MISTAKE

Could he have countered the Penmin’s Aura, sure, but it would just go to the top of his library, he draws it again when he plays Guardian Project and a creature, recasts and repeats the process. Christopher Hawkins We only knew of two creatures he had. He wouldn’t have had the mana to play, say, Guardian Project plus Nyxbloom. He would have to have used Fauna shaman by what we know. He didn’t have enough, as GP for 4, FS for 1, a 1 drop for 1 if in his deck, and 3 for Pemman’s aura. He would have been short.

Small Rules Lawyer-y thing here. 8:43 Murph is the active player. He casts Windfall and past priority. Priority gets passed in clockwise fashion so it is now on Jake to counter the spell. When he says "Is anyone going to do anything about that" he has signaled he is passing priority. Then it's Jimmy's turn then Ashlen's turn. They both said no so the windfall should resolve.

Rules lawering just back, unless a player explicitly passes priority priority doesn't necessarily pass. It is completely legal to ask your opponents in a multiplayer if they plan to do anything without passing priority yourself.

I also noticed that the 2 that look like magic players if you know what I mean, I understand why they aren't on the show. They have decks that will steamroll other players and its not always fun to watch them do crazy combos. I built Pako & Haldon after watching this as an instant and sorcery copy theme with a bunch of top deck manipulation for choosing what spells I get to cast as well as choosing whether or not Pako gets buffed or I cast more creatures. About Pako's trigger and Teferi's Protection, because a lot of people are asking: Teferi's Protection doesn't phase out the player. They're still there, as are their cards/objects in every zone that's not the battlefield. "Protection from everything" on a player means they can't be targeted, can't have permanents attached to them and all damage aimed at them is prevented. Any effect that doesn't do any of those will go through just fine, so yes, Pako will still exile cards from the top of their library. Another example: you resolve a Teferi's Protection in response to my Smallpox. You won't lose any life (your life can't change) and won't sacrifice any permanents (they're phased out), but will still discard a card.

@@papalatte9525 No. Protection from everything prevents the protected thing from taking damage from anything. But proliferate could add poison counters to a player who had already been poisoned (it doesn't target, attach to, damage, or change the life total of that player).

Addendum: You cast Teferi's Protection, play a Forest for the turn, cast a Birds of Paradise, then pass. On my turn, I cast Smallpox. You will not lose any life, but you will sacrifice your Forest and Bird (as your other lands and creatures are phased out), and you will discard a card. In other words, the player is very much *not* gone from the game.

Magic the gathering just peaked my interest. I want to learn how to play. I went out and bought a 60 card basari deck. Basicly winged it. Me and my girlfriend want to play but i cant find how to split the deck. Like how many creatures land and spells should i have. For our 30 card decks??

Most cards will have four copies, so just split two for each. Give each player one of the find basri cards, the first to play it gets basri. About the 3/1 copy card's... Just find a way to make if fair+ hope you enjoy playing MTG, won't be long till you're an addict

You can try splitting it but I think it will be much better if you either get another deck so that you both have one and can switch, or go to your local game store and ask for the free trial/demo/starter packs (not sure how it's called) which are like a 30 card mini-deck

29:52 so this is just me speculating, but could Jimmy have put any of the lands exiled from Pako onto the field with the Oblivion sower trigger? (I didn't really catch if he exiled many from Murph with Pako's triggers but I'm curious if I understand this interaction correctly)

Yes he could've. As per gatherer ruling: "Oblivion Sower’s ability allows you to put any land cards the player owns from exile onto the battlefield, regardless of how those cards were exiled."

I have Oblivion Sower in my Jeleva deck for exactly this reason.

He can do it, but only if the lands exiled from Pako are owned by the same player targeted by Oblivion Sower. Other players' lands must be played through Haldan's ability, as usual.
