How to Fix Jlab JBuds when one side stops working (case by case might not work for everyone)

The solution is given at 5:00 -> If one side doesn't respond, hold your finger on top of it for about 10 seconds. (It worked for me.) Also for most other bugs I encounter with this headset, I put them in their box, close it for 5-10 seconds, then reopen it, and tap one of the sides 7 times. It resets it.

The trick of putting them both in the case and holding down their buttons worked for me! It took about 25 seconds, and something to note is I noticed that before the earbuds joined, they started beeping in seemingly random patterns. I thought it was over for my earbuds and I was ready to retire them since they're old anyways, but they live on! Thank you!

I had the jbud anc and my controls on both sides worked. I had to connect to two bluetooths and the side that would play depends on the order they are paired to the phone. But the best solution I found was take them out side slam them as hard as I could and find the pieces again so I could completely demolish them to bits. Probably wasn’t smart but I’ve dealt with it for month watching all the vids to have nothing change

Thank you!! Right bud just disconnected from left and stopped working. No lights, but when put into charger would charge. Followed your instructions to "forget" device in Bluetooth, charge pod (with buds inside) for 10 minutes, then take buds out and press and hold disconnected bud (right). BOOM!! Lights again, opened Bluetooth and selected JLabs... really helpful. Thank you.

This worked ! Kept something playing, held the right button down (right side was no sound) just over 10 seconds, it started working, the left dropped out, held LHS button down, message “pairing “ or something, both working now, awesome!

Hi, I've tried everything with mine. They keep on cutting back and forth to one another. Especially when on phonecalls too. I sound a bit like Normon Collier. I've only had them since May and they were a replacent set because the left one packed up completely. I think I need to change brand now.

oh no sorry to hear :( , usually it works in most cases. Sometimes letting the battery die and then recharging it works, but its hit or miss. It could just be a hardware issue.

You should get a message telling you the batteries overall status, but if it keeps dying you are probably having a hardware fault with the battery or connector.

some some of the buds jlab makes don't work independently, so it does need the left but to transmit data to the right ear bud. So that means when the left bud is unavailable or missing your right bud will stop working.

No problem! I still get messages about it lol. So there are two scenarios it's either a hardware issue or the earphones need to be synced again. If it's just an earphone issue, then -Unpair them from every device you have close by -Put the earphones in the case -Then hold both buttons/touch-sensitive areas on the left and right earbud down for 10 seconds and it should work after you pair it again. If you can try deleting the battery before you try this! that is all I can offer for now sorry :(

If they are both on the right side, and your case if full charged but your earbuds aren't that sounds like faulty battery in the buds, or the connectors in the case are faulty. I think contacting jlab would be the best idea, since it looks like its a hardware issue.

I am not sure if there is a complete fix for that, I will post if I find something. But you can try this method for now: 1.) Keep earbuds in charging case and forget Jlab from bluetooth device settings. 2.)Quick tap one earbud in the charging case 7x. ... 3.)Quick tap the other earbud in the charging case 7x. ... 4.)Take the earbuds out of the case. ... 5.)Now you are ready to connect to your Bluetooth device.

​​@@DTechHQ And remember to check EACH bud (after the 7 quick taps) that they respond with '4 blue flashes/blinks'. And then after you have taken both buds out of the case ... ONE should show a 'solid white' light, and SECOND should be blinking with a 'blue/white' light. This is what indicates that they are both ready to pair via your devices bluetooth!!

Still didn't work. The left earbud's light (on the actual earbud) shows blue when it's in the charging case, but it doesn't say "JLab on" or show any further light when removed from the case, nor does the left side charging indicator come on.

I've seen other people put both the buds in the charging case and holding both buttons down for 30 seconds to get them to sync up. Try that and let me know

Do you know what might cause it so that one earbud is EXTREMELY lower than the other? Like can barely hear it at all? Still can hear, so its definitely connected.

Both my right and left earbud is fully loaded, but they split up so they dont paur with each other. They show as two seperste bluetooth-devices. There is nothing about this problem in the manual (nomadelic active 650). Does anyone know?

I have jlab earbuds and my left earbud stopped working a 2 days ago. The earbud does connect and does charge but I can't hear any audio at all. It went back on earlier today but the audio stopped again. My right earbud works just fine but I think my left one is dead. I can even press the button on the side of the left earbud and it registers on my phone, adjusting volume.

I have actually never heard of that, playing something but both earbuds in your ear. Then push and hold down on the button on the non working bud until you hear something. I heard that helps re sync it.

Sorry it too me so long to reply, but these buds do have a lot of bugs. In one of the pinned comments there is another thing you can try. Basically you have to "Put them in their box, close it for 5-10 seconds, then reopen it, and tap one of the sides 7 times. It resets it."

I did what you said. I forgot device, I opened case. Now here’s a issue I really hope read this I need help. So…. I open case. The left one blinks white blue. The other one is dark. Hmmm. I’ve litterally have tried to fix these for an hour. So I squeeze that one while in case. Wow it starts to blink like the other one but it shuts off back to dark after a few blinks , second, on my blue tooth iPhone it will show device JLab sport earbuds, then right after that another JLab shows again. So now I have 2 JLab devices trying to connect. I forget them. This is like the 50th time today. Over and over no matter I do. I will say I’ve encountered this many times and it resolved. This time it won’t. If I put buds in my ear. It won’t even say paired or anything. So while their in my ears I press connect and only one speaker comes one. And it still showing 2 JLab devices. I have reset them. I’ve shut them off. I restarted my phone several times. I’ve shut Bluetooth off then on a again. They won’t pair together and when it does only speaker sometimes left sometimes right. I’ve pressed each one 3 times. And four times and held both down to reset. Still nothing. I don’t get it this time. Please help if you can.

It looks like there are a lot of faulty buds that were produced. There is a solution a user commented you can try. I brought the JLab air arc earbuds for my son for Christmas. I can only get one earbud to connect to Bluetooth. It also comes up twice in the Bluetooth list. I click on one to connect and it's only one earbud. I click the other one in the Bluetooth list and it disconnected the working earbud and connected the other earbud, it is still just one earbud connected. I have tried the forget from the Bluetooth list and tried disconnected. I have trired reset to pariring mode, but the same problem only one earbud connects.

I heard there a lot of defective units out there. The only other thing you can try, is just discharging the earbuds until they are dead. or you can put them back in the case wait for like 20 seconds, take them out and hold down the left earbud button for 30 seconds. I heard that works sometimes let me know!

They charge while in the case, but sometimes you have to make sure each bud is in the right spot, and even if it is I heard some people run into issues with earbuds battery. For some reason, whatever I do, I cannot get these fricking buds to work at the same time. I feel that, for you it might just be a quality assurance thing from jlab. Only other thing you could try is putting them in the case and holding both the buttons down. but before that make sure the battery is drained! let me know if anything changes.
