I still think the whole concept of omega shenron and that whole arc in general is genius. Execution? Thats debatable wether its great or not BUT the idea itself is awesome.

imo the first half or so of the arc was prolly the worst part of GT (writing-wise, even though the concept was great). Once they got to Nuova Shenron, everything got better from there, very compelling and had a strong ending. In all, I give the arc a 6 or 7 out of 10

Freddy Gabriel i liked it but the fact that a charcter absorbed the Dragon Balls,he shoulda been higher than a God. Ss4 gogeta woulda paled in comparison. They could have at least made them on par though bc its illogical how a potarra fusion is more powerful than the dragonballs. Omega shenron was absorbing the magic of the Dragon Balls. If it wasnt for plot and rushed fight then it would been better.

kinganarkzie Well i can try to explain it like this.... The dragon balls themselves is the most powerful object in db universe. Shenron the dragon is just the guardian and Kami is just the creator of the dragonballs. All them wishes people made gave the dragon balls more negative energy so it shouldn't matter how strong the guardian or creator is because the power of the negative energy is not connected to the strength of the guardian. The guardian Dragon is the one thats supposed to be the same powerlevel as the creator of the dragon balls not the dragon balls themselves. The Dragon just unlocks the magic so they can be used for the specific wish. As we saw in Gt,the dragon doesnt have the power to stop the negative energy from escaping once the balls have been used for too often. So when negative energy escapes it turns into dark magic in dragon-like forms and these dragons would be very powerful causing havoc etc like we saw in Gt. Only thing about Gt is the shadow dragons should have been alot harder to beat especially with all the wishes they made. Especially when Syn absorded the dragon balls,he should have been a God. I guess Omega Shenron couldnt tap into the magic of the dragonballs, he could only use the negative energy created from them. Either way he got beat too easily bc plot and i think the fight could have gone better.

GT was ok despite it's share of problems. The biggest problems were that it placed too much focus on Goku like DBZ did and the fact that he never turned back into an adult permanently until 100 years after he defeated Omega Shenron.

In my opinion, the animation in GT looked better than Super's because it was an updated version of DBZ's while Super's look similar to Kai's. Toei for some reason made the fighters look slimmer now from how they looked before.

I know a lot of people hate GT but honestly I thought the shadow dragon concept was brilliant and hope they do something similar in Super. Teaching them not to rely on the Dragonballs to insta fix everything is a great lesson. Even though the execution is sloppy at times, the idea of having our heroes fight literal embodiments of the consequences of their actions over the whole story is a great way to end DB. An unexpected and poetic final challenge to overcome: the dragon balls themselves. Feels like it's the only way it could have ever ended. Shame that now it doesn't count.

It wasn't the case in the Buu arc already. Buuhan was the most powerful villain in Z, while Vegito was the most powerful being in Z - meanwhile the last serious battle was between Goku and Kid Buu.

Also Babadi and his henchman when they came to earth to revive Buu were weaker than perfect Cell. I would argue that Android 19 and 20 were weaker than Frieza but isn’t super clear. Still 2 clear examples in a series (Z) with 3-4 main arcs.

Omega was pretty amazing. TWO Super Saiyan 4s couldn't touch him, even with Goku being empowered by the other earth Saiyans (fun fact, they were actually one shy of making Goku a Super Saiyan God, hehehe). But also, he did not fuck around. Goku and Vegeta fused ONCE, and it was nearly the end of him. He devoted the rest of the fight to making sure the pair of them didn't do it again, because he knew on Round 2 Gogeta would go straight for the throat.

While it's impossible to deny that the God of Destruction title was not invented, it is possible that Shenron actually does possess Divine energy as he comes from the wish orbs, which were created with Divine Kai energy, meaning that he basically has the opposite of the Kais in terms of energy, much like a God of Destruction has ki opposite to the creative ki of the Kais

I'm still really hoping they reuse the ideas in the Shadow Dragon arc. The idea of the Dragon Balls creating the ultimate enemies for the series really makes sense and should be the way Super ends. Plus the idea of the balls being way overused and creating negative energy as a result, really makes a lot of sense. Before Goku and Bulma the Dragon Balls were almost never used, but during the series they're used almost as much as they possibly can be used. It makes sense that they would become corrupt over time.

GT did many things good. but at the time it execute them in really bad way. really good way to tie in and expand the Lore. at the same time. ruins and underplays some parts. 7 Shadow dragons appeared ? goku goes after all of them alone.. instead I don't know... use the other 6 fighters to fight each dragon alone ?( Gohan - Vegeta - Trunks - Gotten - Uub- Pan ) but no it's Goku time. and that ambiguous ending that no one really knows what really happened. Omega Shenron just by standing there doing nothing can destroy the universe, Dragonball gt was universal. Movie characters and moves do show up, and you can argue some of these movies share a continuity as the same movie character shows up in a few of them. Icarus is in 3 of them and the garlic jr arcs Sacred Water is in GT. Cooler is in GT.

Considering the dragon balls are as strong as the creator, dende is nothing compared to even sayain saga characters, yet omega is universal. Although the show and layout of events wasn't very good, the concept of the shadow dragons was very cool. The idea using the main story point too much no matter how good the reason results in these evil creatures. Omega shenron was evil and didn't screw around unlike all the other villains. That's why he was so scary. He didn't want to play games like cell, he wanted to eliminate all who oppose him and allow darkness to be all that exists.

People don't hate GT because of its ideas. They hate it because the execution sucked. The fight's aren't about skill like in DB, but also lack the speed of Z. Besides the fighting, the animation was much poorer compared to Z, the ideas for the arcs were not fully realized, and the comical parts weren't really funny. It also lacked real breakout characters to help push the new direction of the series. Z had Vegeta, Trunks, and Gohan. Super has Beerus, Whis, and Hit. GT has Pan and Uub, but I don't think they're as highly praised as Vegeta or Beerus.

It's estimated, IF Omega Shenron somehow made it into Super's story... He would be at least equal to, or stronger than Hit himself, even Jiren would have a hard time trying to destroy Omega, due to Omega's own special abilities that has Buu's regeneration, but much MUCH better since he's the ultimate Shenron, and other abilities as well thanks to absorbing all the other Shenron's. Toriyama needs to make him canon, i feel like he would be an interesting character for Super, evil dragons born out of the countless wishing and not respecting the natural order of wishes only once after what... 100 years is what they said? Or was it 10 years? Either way, this needs to be added in, it's an interesting concept.
