the reason why israel is such a small tech tree, is because there arent many other israeli ww1-ww2 tanks, they really started during late ww2 and cold war, so the option we have ingame is the options they also had irl, sadly the planes are lacking

If Israel would get rank I-III tanks it would have the most fun lowtier vehicles in the game. Imagine tons of halftracks with various weapons from WW1 field guns to WW2 20mm autocannons, some APCs fitted with the French 37mm (except it uses a makeshift APCBC shell made from the canister of the French 37mm HE and the American 37mm APCBC penetrator) and other anti-tank guns, some wierd Shermans with all sorts weaponry you'd typically won't see on a Sherman, and a LOT of 155mm big doodoo howitzers. Maybe aircraft and coastal vessels won't have too much unique stuff around (they have unique stuff, just not as much) but the Israeli ground forces in the 40s and 50s were something else...

For a sub-tree, the one that makes the most sense is Chile. They've had surprisingly large military associations with Israel for decades, and use lots of both tanks and aircraft with Israeli weapons and sensors.

Techncally you grind Israel like any other tree really as a new player, but start from rank 1 with another nation until you get to the Israel tech tree

If you want a good start in Israel tech tree, consider buying the talisman for the m51. Since it is the reserve tank, you can spawn 3 times in Arcade battles.

Another is that the Gaijn achievement "Israel Collection"You need 50 Israel vehicles which is harder than any other nation since all rank 4 and above more RP is required, having some lower ranks would help that.

Israel could have the M50 (M4A4 sa50) that clearly shouldn’t be in the french tech tree. Israel is the one who bought the french cannon to mount it on the sherman base. It never saw any french ground.

I hope it's them adding tiers 1-3 cause as someone that's played the game a while, jumping in to 4 with no crew skills sucked, and doubly so with access to 1 vehicle, at one point they didn't have the reserve function or the like, and while I haven't done ground much cause I'm not as good at it - it absolutely sucked grinding the Sakeen to get the Spitfire cause the Sakeen has to be the worst plane I have ever played in this game. And at this point - I've unlocked like rank 4 or 5 in every line or higher so that's a lot of planes.

Yep Id say they are going to expand the tech tree. Isreal I know started with the 10 French Hoskiss H35/H39 series of light tanks, two Cromwell tanks and the standard M4 Sherman tank. I think they had some armoured cars and later the first Super Sherman the M50 with the 75mm gun the same as on the Amx 13 light tank. Isreal in the 60s where given a Chieftain tank which they where going to get from the UK. Politically it didn't work out. You could have this as a premium. They could put some more captured tanks and vechiles in also and an SPG on the Super Sherman chasis. They could add also the Chilean Sherman tank with the 60mm high velocity gun that isreal sold them and Id say plenty more.

Some of the early Israeli Shermans had missing or disabled armament that they found creative ways to replace. Like installing a 75mm Krupp field gun or a 20mm Hispano autocannon inside the tube of 105mm howitzers whose breeches had been removed.

Israel is a cool Nation but that fact that so many vehicles are nowhere near their real life performance is just frustrating. The merkavas are very big and not really fast but in real life they counter that by having some of the best armor of the world yet in warthunder they only have heat protection which is very wrong but eh gaijin doesn’t really cares about Israel and not enough people play the nation so they can complain until gaijin changes things so it’s just not in a good place right now especially on toptier

It really needs a sub tree, not only to give it low ranks, but to diversify and fill out later ranks as well. There aren't many nations that can offer low ranks for it though. Australia and New Zealand could fit, as they have a decent amount of WW2 content.

With how focused challenges/events are at rank 3 it's mind boggling they haven't had these introductory packs at mid tiers. Two primary spawns with a support unit are all you're expected to use in arcade where most new players would be funneled. Adding a plane to this 'starter' pack might be redundant if the numbers show air is played much less then ground

The "weird barrier" I always assumed it was because they wanted to represent real life history, hence why you need to research france britian or usa the western powers, and not any country at all. Gameplay wise too but kind of a mix of gameplay balance so you start at rank 1 but also representing historical power relations (like why Britain gets Indian stuff)

Yeah but 'historical power relations' is where you also start to get some trouble like what he talks about here if they added Middle Eastern lines to the Israeli one to expand it (Egypt, Palestine, and what is now Israel are all connected by the British through WW2 - and that is a can of worms you do not want to open). Case in point you mention India in the British tree - I've encountered players who are really not thrilled with that fact and want it separate - or at least part of some of tree made up of other nations. My family came from the Belfast area in Norther Ireland that's still controlled by the British, and not in the 1800's or earlier but during the times of the troubles and all and I myself stayed there with family - so as it is I certainly have some feelings and opinions on certain things, but seeing the ship in game as LÉ Orla - a ship of the Republic of Ireland, which was established after fighting with the British decades before, not a fan even if the ship originally belonged to the British under a different name cause it's still the Irish tricolour under a Union Jack. It may seem silly to you and others, even some born and raised in Ireland, be it the free south or the British controlled north but it, and Belfast with that big union jack on the turret historical as it may be - it reminds me of seeing the tricolour outside my grandmothers house in a small area in front of the shops - and turn a corner and see the soldiers marching out of the barracks they built behind her house. Is it huge - no, not like I'm gonna sit here and try and get people to boycott the game, and I'm probably in a minority of people with those feelings. But I personally yeah - I'd rather see LÉ Orla and other Irish Naval Service ships in some sort of catch all EU line where they form a branch of or generally some part of the costal tree or something rather than being under the British line. It's easy at times for people to over look some of the history and the views some are gonna have when you mix certain lines together just because of 'historical power relations'. A lot talk about it being an 'easy' solution to filling in lines - but some don't realize they may be stepping on peoples toes so to speak.

The idea of adding a subtree to the Israel line is really appealing. It's the one national tree I've avoided, for the reasons you list - limited scope, no Ranks I-III to build crew skills. The obvious problem with adding early ranks is that the state of Israel didn't exist until 1948. So then the question in my mind is, *who*? Last night, the blindingly clear answer came to me: Turkey! The Turkish Air Force has existed since 1911 (well, it was the Ottoman Empire then), and they've flown some interesting planes over the years, from a variety of nations. Bf 109s and FW 190s, Spitfires and Hurricanes, Vultees, Martin B-10s, B-24s, M.S. 406. Early jet era is the usual American suspects, F-84 and F-86 and the like. It could work! There's even a chance to introduce a real rarity, because Turkey flew He-111s, but the early F model with the more conventional stepped nose design instead of Heinkel's iconic fully glazed "greenhouse". On the ground, during WW2 both Germany and the Allies were gifting all kinds of vehicles to Turkey, trying to woo them into joining on their side, so there will be Pz.III and Pz.IV right next to Valentines and Stuarts. Turkey also has a home-grown defense industry, so there are some interesting AFVs there. Technologically, the two nations are a better fit than one might think, too. After all, the F-4-2020 "Terminator" upgrade (Turkey still flies the Phantom!) was done by IAI. This could make the Israel tree playable in one single stroke. ETA: I see others beat me to the same conclusion by several days. Story of my life.

israel can get a sub tree or LATAM vehicles like Ti-67 a tiran 5sh sold to uruguay , M-51 HVMS and M-24 chaffee HVMS from chile , TAM 2C and its A2 version , argentine TAM 2IP , IAI Dagger and finger which are improved version of argentine Dagger by israel . there is a chance that we will see these vehicles in the israeli tree

They could do a middle eastern tree though with all middle eastern nations (minus Israel) You could do a Jordanian sub tree in Israel though given the generally better relation between Israel and Jordan, or Egypt as again current relations with Israel and Egypt are decent. Turkey though is a bit of a stretch. You could do Turkey as the starting nation for a middle eastern tech tree especially because their own military industry is taking off. So they'll have some home brew stuff they can make use of for the end of it.

The M-51 was the tank I got my first and second nuke in. A problem with Israel is a lot of tanks they have are captured from other countries, so it can be hard to add “new” vehicles. With that being said, they do have vehicles of their own that haven’t been added yet, and the fact that Gaijin hasn’t added the Tiran 5 or Tiran 5S despite adding the Tiran 6 is just criminal.

Maybe not Ranks 1-3, because Rank 1 would be a bunch of armored cars. However I would like to see some Israeli vehicles from before the M-51 such as the 3-4 variants of the M-50, M4A2 (76), Cromwell, M16 MGMC, and I read there was a Zachlam with either a recoilless or high velocity 75mm.

Why not rank I? And why bother adding 3 slightly-different variants of the same tank? Israel has more than enough vehicles to fully fill ranks I-III with unique vehicles. Those "armored cars" (and halftracks you forgot to mention) have lots of cool weaponry, everything from a WW1 field gun, through French 37mm guns firing a makeshift APCBC shell made from the canister of the French HE shell and American APCBC penetrator, to a plethra of different 20mm autocannons.

Turkey is the only customer of the Sabra M60 upgrade, which was just added to the game. I would be okay with Turkey being added to Israel. Turkey could work as a subtree, especially with a nation as small as Israel, because on its own Turkey would have a decent Rank 1-2, then drop off, and come back really strong starting at Rank V. Besides putting the Turkish stuff in Italy seemed odd, they just got Hungary and if Gaijin wanted a 6th column for them Romania or Brazil would be better fits in my opinion.
