6 years ago today I was in Costa Rica hiking along a trail back from a waterfall. I was by myself and encountered both the owl spot butterfly AND a blue morpho both grazing on fermenting mangos along the trail. I’ve never felt so magical than that moment when the blue morpho opened its wings. Unforgettable day. 🥰

Rotten bananas work, but if you want to get butterflies drunk for 100% sure, pour a shallow layer of cheap red wine into a dish, then put fresh fruit slices into it. The wine will soak into the fruit, and butterflies will come to feed and become drunk. If you leave that outside on a sunny afternoon for a couple hours, you will come back to find a really lit butterfly rager in progress.

I’d be a drunk butterfree too if I had to crawl for most of my life, avoiding beaks, webs, and stings

Wow! That's a nice trick Phil!! I wouldn't expected that the rotten bananas would make a butterfly trap! The Blue Morpho is kinda difficult to find! I am a Butterfly Fan too! I would to do something for them.

I love your videos specially the ones about butterflies 🦋, even that I'm afraid of them I like to learn about it, I have mottephobia, there's no way that I will touch the one that looks like an owl 🦉, my problem is the wings. Anyway thanks for sharing this amazing videos 👍🏻
