Just to say 'cheers' for the Channel TMF and the work you put into it. Your enthusiasm has reinvigorated my love of bikes and got me back enjoying riding again. Excuse late arrival at the party, but thank you as always for your clear, informative and enthusiastic content. Stumbling across your channel a couple of years ago inspired me to get into biking at the ripe old age of xx (but like others here very happy to be called a kid...). Another great news review , I noted you only reviewed 3 MCN editions, there was a 4th edition which appeared on the 22nd Dec, maybe it didn't arrive at 'Flyer Towers' before Christmas ? loved the Lego S1000R review , I always wondered what the model was on the shelf behind you , now we know its a Lego Dodge Charger (clearly a man of taste ) would love to know what the story is behind the TVR Chimera and Ford Explorer pictures on your garage door ?

My first reaction on seeing your story about the return of the Hornet was "brilliant" as I had both the 600 and 900 Hornet in the 90s, your video then tells us it's not gonna be a 4 cylinder but a parallel twin, what is it with most manufacturers today totally emasculating bikes compared to their forerunners, 250s and 400s of the 80s and 90s were much faster and more powerful than those made by the same manufacturers nowadays, yet another example was the new Honda CB350 (which is a lovely looking bike) but on looking at the specs it's about half the power of the 1971 version (20 bhp as opposed to 37 bhp) which wasn't exactly known as a speed demon and it's also 55lbs heavier ,I know the original was a twin and the new one a single but that should mean it's lighter and surely a modern 350 should be producing at least 35 to 40 bhp.
@TheMissendenFlyer2 жыл бұрын
Funny ol game isn't it.....where have all the 4 cylinder screamers gone? If one of the mainstream manufacturers made a 4 cylinder 400 or 600 I reckon it would sell like hot cakes.....
@yonniboy12 жыл бұрын
@@TheMissendenFlyer I couldn't agree more, I also bought a little Hornet 250/4 about 12 years ago, it had originally been a grey import as Honda never sold them in the UK, I bought it simply for the novelty value and loved it, I really had a ball on it ,IMO if any manufacturer had the balls to make a 250/400 4 cylinder naked they'd sell by the ship load. oh how I yearn for the bikes of the 80s and 90s lol.

The old Honda Hornet is still an incredibly popular bike, they haven't been made since around 2013 but because they are Honda most of them are still going even those from the late 90's ! They are well renowned for their low cost, ease of maintenance, easy to ride and good fun characteristics and the "buzzy" 4 cylinder engine is highly regarded as one of it's main attractions ! The new 2 cylinder 750 Hornet is not winning any fans of the old Hornet due to it not having a high revving 4 pot engine and nobody seems to like the 'wasp-like' headlight either which you'd have thought would be a winner on a bike called 'Hornet' ! I think in Britain people like a motorbike to look like a man's machine and not a kids toy but I imagine there are countries where that would go down well ! In my profile pic I'm riding my 900 Hornet which again has a different engine but nobody seems to object for some reason.

2022 promises to be a great new year and what better way to start the riding season than slinging a leg over the new BSA 650 single. Hey kids I can't wait. 🤪

It is only newer Hondas that have the horn button above the indicator switch. All Transalps 1986-2012 have the horn below the indicator, as per every other bike.

Absolutely great to chat a motorcycle live. Don’t forget to take mark up on his V4s sp ride. Ps, I’m the guy that did the stuff with the red arrows.

Another great review, and so much cheaper than buying a copy 👍 Hope your right on the 6 to 6.5k price tag for the BSA I do like the look of those.

Andy reference the visitor opinion in MCN about the Motorcycle Live, I agree with you, it was a great live event with plenty new bikes and other displays to see. I also was there all day on the Monday and thought it pretty busy. Gareth

Happy New Year to you and Mrs Flyer🎉🎉, on a side note my son gave me the Lego Harley Davidson Fat Boy for Christmas, it’s a cracking build and model.

Funnily enough my mum and dad gave me that same model for Christmas, I might make a start later today it actually looks quite good! Good luck with the build, all the best - TMF

Yet another great video, look forward to 'Hey Kids' again, so much more apt than 'Folks'. We are all kids at heart which is why we watch in the first place!! Solution suggestion for your forthcoming dilemma Andy, sell the Beemer and buy the Beezer, you 'll still have a GS in the garage and have much more fun options rather than practicle ones!! Happy New Year to you and all the family!!
