So happy for you to have found a good contractor to complete your well deserved bathroom makeover. You are so right about Publix inflation. I shop online from Publix and Walmart. Publix is almost twice the price of Walmart. I only buy from Publix BOGO items and things I cannot get from Walmart. I have always preferred meat from Winn Dixie but they have changed over the years. My husband makes fried bologna with scrambled eggs for our granddaughters for breakfast on the weekends & our 3 yr old granddaughter calls them “papa eggs” my husband grew up in TX & his pawpaw used to make them for him, his siblings & cousins on the weekends

I enjoy y’all’s videos. I am on a fixed income and find it easier to shop with the sales more than going to Walmart and purchasing large quantities of meat/ etc… I wish we had a truly reasonable grocery store here in Houston but I have worked out a way to keep my budget down for the most part by checking the sales papers and getting what I want to prepare and eat that way. I’m considering getting a small box freezer for that reason. I absolutely love that shower! ❤

I just declutter my freezer last week, my plan going forward is not to store food no more than 4 to 6 weeks at a time.This is the second time for the month this week our store had no eggs and other stores the prices are very high.

At the GA Publix for the buy one get one free items you can buy one and it’s half price. Not in FL. I think that’s odd. We get the bogo’s there then go to Walmart for the rest.

have a question about salmon! I have to start eating foods high in omega three! Which is the best salmon to buy? There is so many different kinds! I don’t like salmon or tuna! The smell is so strong to me! I have issues with smells from my infusion treatments for RA they are chemo treatments that I take every 8 weeks! Plus I need a good recipe for cooking salmon! Beautiful bath and I love all the features. The grocery haul reminded me of ours. I cook and we have leftovers which we love, so our meals stretch for a long while. It is our biggest expense for a month and it's so out of hand with this economy. I've started to make our bread as well, Italian , Rosemary and pepper, white and also tackled homemade cinnamon rolls again which are to die for. Delicious. I figure just with bread alone we save at least 70$ a month and that pays another bill, plus I find it rewarding and relaxing, plus it tastes so much better. Love your channel and so glad you started it. It's so fun to visit the both of you via your video's. Keep up the good work! Tomorrow I make chicken cobbler and bread and next week it will be Cranberry chicken with rice and steamed veggies. It's been so cold here that the cofort food is what we enjoy! PS: hubby's favorite things is friend bologna sandwiches. His grandmother used to make it for the eight children when they visited. LOL God bless and I so enjoy you both..........77 and 78 and still loving to cook and keep up with what's going on out there. Reminds me our first Duty Station was at McDill for three years....also our first two children were born in St Pete. Missing Florida!

I recently moved from CA to Oklahoma to be near my son who took a position as a pastor in our local church. I’m used to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. Both store are almost two hours away from where I’m living. However, there are three Walmarts! Also one Sam’s and a small Aldi. I’ve started shopping at Walmart and they have great organic foods (including meats) and lots of gluten free foods. I’m actually really happy with Walmart!

My husband LOOOOOVES Oscar Mayer bologna. 🥴If you use the Yuka app that scans the nutritional value, it reads 0/100 poor. Susan is so right. Making bread, etc, yourself saves so much money. We grew up on bologna, fried n cold n with an egg. Don't eat it much at all now. I shop mostly ,Walmart but they have messed orders up alot since , Christmas. I shop smaller orders at , Schnuck n Aldi. I'm the kind , when I have one thing of something I get stressed , have to have at least 2 . I've Prayed to get our 60s full bath redone but just don't have the money n new couch.

I love the shower makeover. I'm glad you got rid of the old contractor. There's always someone who will rip people off unfortunately. I like your idea of a restaurant/ lounge at Walmart. Everyone needs a break from the craziness 😂 You got quite a haul. I buy like that. Get a large package and break it down in freezer bags. I always write what it is and the date. That way you know how old it is and what to cook first.

Papa just a suggestion cut and pound your chicken before you freeze it. It makes life so much easier when you are ready to use it. Also, instead of using Ziploc, maybe consider investing in a food saver it’s so much cheaper than using bags. Just a suggestion love your channel and I feel the exact same way about Walmart. I dread going there every single time it’s definitely an experience lol.

I can’t stand Walmart. Their prices are higher on most everything than Krogers and Super 1 which are our other choices where I live. Eggs are $7.47 for 18 extra large at Walmart. Super 1 they are $6.48 and Krogers are $6.79. I can’t get 18 large brown cage free for $5.99 at Krogers. Also Walmart never has sales like the other stores. Love your pantry. I store a lot of my appliances in our walk in pantry that I call my butler’s pantry but move them to the kitchen when using them. I have the same metal shelves as you are using.
