mouth breathing is inefficient most of the time. taking in more air doesn't necessarily mean more oxygen intake. Breath: the new science of lost art by James Nestor and Oxgen Advantage by Patrick McKeown is a must read book in this topic.

I didn't even bother about breathing through mouth or nose when I started running. I always felt you don't need much training about the movements that come naturally to humans. It has to be as per our own comfort.

Yeah these things matter when you are competing. Because if you don't run with the proper breathing technique required for the distance, you will loose your rhythm. Even milliseconds matter in competitions.

Yes for an amateur who runs occasionally it will work, but if you want to take to to the next level it's better to have a specifc pattern which can be slightly different for everyone

Nose breathing works more till 9km/hr because if we take breath from mouth then we get tired easily as I observed in my case.So, mostly I breath from nose while running.

Breath from nose, to minimise the fatigue to ur body, better to use it in the initial part of the run...... once u start breathing from ur mouth, ur lungs will start filling up (as outake of CO2 reduces, making ur lungs feel filled up and gradually intake of O2 decreases). So better to breath in the last phase of ur run

It's because your form isn't right. Stomach cramps happen if the oxygen isn't able to travel fast enough. Your shoulders need to be relaxed, and you shouldn't push them forward too far or cross them inward. Look at professional marathoners if you want to see what I mean, but I had the same problem, also if you eat less than an 1 hour 30 min before or drink a LOT of water a few minutes before your run, this causes cramps. If you haven't gotten enough sleep, you will also be more prone to cramping
