We've missed you. Great video, I learned something new, and loved the Fun Fact. Interesting sausage recipe; as you say can be gingered up in lots of way, plenty of herbs and all that. Interesting technique steaming first, I've never seen that before. Thanks for all you do and for brightening up a Saturday in the office!

Glad to see you're putting out new videos. We've missed you. How was the texture on the sausages? I wondered specifically how well the beans worked without being blended or run through a food processor,
@TheVeganTestKitchen3 жыл бұрын
The texture was great! I only had a few beans that weren't mashed well (my fault), but the texture was exactly what you'd expect from a seitan sausage--a bit chewy, but falls apart in your mouth easily.

I made both of these, today. BIG HIT with my husband. He loves it. I couldn't keep him from stealing some every time he walked by. LOL. I added some of the sausage to his sauce that I put over the broccoli polenta (recipe also on your channel). From 1-10, he said it was a 100.

I love hearing that! I'm sure this sausage would go well in just about everything, lol. Glad you all are enjoying the Veganomicon recipes like I am 😊

Hello! Good to see you! I missed the oven mitt flourish, ha-ha! Back to the vegan grindstone for old school seitan and tempeh is just the way to go. These look delicious and protein-rich, and I like that you are confidently making corrections at tasting time. ThanksForPosting : )

So good to see you again, we've missed you! I'll definitely give both of these a try with your suggestion of fennel in the sausage. I might leave out the maple syrup...what do you think? Thank you for sharing these recipes with this community!

Thanks, Suzanne 😊The maple syrup just gives it a hint of that "breakfast maple sausage" flavor--so if you're not a fan of that, I'm sure you could just leave it out!

Is tempeh bacon better than light life and sweet earth bacon?
@TheVeganTestKitchen3 жыл бұрын
It really just depends on your tastebuds! I used to eat Light Life all the time on BLTs and breakfast, but we've pretty much upgraded to Sweet Earth exclusively. My bf loves Sweet Earth bacon so that's the main reason why--I'm not in LOVE with it, but I do enjoy it. I like tempeh bacon because of the simple ingredients (it's gotta be healthier, right?), and tempeh has a nice hearty component to it.
