It sounds like time travel into the future, and subsequent observations could be based loosely around the Heisenburg Uncertainty Principle, or Quantum Superposition. Ie the probability of the position of an electron in a given orbital cloud, or the position (charge, spin etc) of a quantum particle. Although a 'future' is observed, that specific 'future' only exists because it *was* observed. At the moment of observation the 'future' was forced to exist a certain way, based on probability. Once the team returns to the original timeline, the future returns to a state of only probability.

I really don’t like entries with lots of redactions. It seems cheap, and boring. From what it sounds like, this SCP contains other SCP's via being the split between multiple different timelines which almost all were eliminated by anomalous nature and keeping said anomaly outside of 2003 itself allowing researchers to survive things such as an entire gamma ray burst. The most interesting one IMO was the sun collapsing into a black hole and then keeping every human consciousness alive but their physical bodies are dead, said anomaly was caused by sending 3 Koreans into space. @healthysnack45322 жыл бұрын
Because XN is kinda the default setting, but they also said they’re considering switching their preferred option to XZ
@Scantronimus4662 жыл бұрын
Short explanation: XZ is a trap. Longer explanation: XZ is the scenario from the SCP-001 “Past and Future” continuity. It’s complicated but, in that scenario, humans descended from an offshoot of a race on another planet. Our ‘offshoot’ was intended to suffer so that the ‘main’ race could have peace and tranquillity. In SCP-001 PaF, the ‘main’ race finds us, wants humanity to come back to them and resume suffering so they can have peace again. XZ is intended to make their world look idyllic to trick us into choosing a future where we are all condemned to suffer for their benefit. I am not doing the explanation justice, BTW. Exploring Series has a good pair of videos breaking down that continuity.

Hey Volgun, you ever do anything with the 🌙 🌙 🌙 initiative? A lot of real good fiction with those scps. You'll love it!

Just listen to 6500 inevitable from 'the exploring series' and am hoping some three moons initiative focused scp would show up here or there. (Three moons has a small part in the 6500 story but a very large crustacean shaped space cannon.)
@Floyd_McGerkin2 жыл бұрын
@@justinsmith5870 I think I read that... what is 6500? Refresh my memory, there are just so many. You read about the foundation meeting the Faye again up there? Crazy. They were still passed, after death, about the factory.
@justinsmith58702 жыл бұрын
@@Floyd_McGerkin basically anomalies (magic) begins to die, fade and some cases basically explode so the foundation, in causing the problem, has two choices in fixing it. Both options are observed into the future and have very different results. It involves time travel, multiple dimensions & nexus points and more scp than a d-class can shake a stick at. But without spoilers one ending involves the three moons initiative comes in and motivating the foundation to fix one complication. Via pointing a space cannon at them.

@@justinsmith5870 oh, right. I read that. It was GOOD. Took all 4 paths, used hacking skills to cast the final vote. THAT was interesting! 10/10, would recommend the read!

@@justinsmith5870 you know what else never gets enough scrutiny? The 5th church. So much there, but I do not recognize the bodies in the water (for instance). Lots of parallels to Kurt Longwood high-school too. Great sci-fi going totally unnoticed. It's criminal.

Can you revisit SCP-682? I’d love to know if there’s any more information on it since the last time you did a video about it! For those who don’t know SCP’s by their number, he’s the Indestructible Alligator thing!

Here's a thought about 14:49 XJ - Its the Rapture. Once humans FINALLY learned to more or less be at peace with one another, God/Our Creator/An Unknown Higher Entity 'saved' us only when it recognised we were mature enough as a species to be worthy of being saved.
@TheUnknownAK2 жыл бұрын
hard to say, definitely possible it's intended to be that but it could also be related to some other SCP that breached containment in that timeline and either killed or absorbed all life.

I have a hunch that the SCP foundation used anomalies related to the Church of the Broken God to develop 2003: the personnel prep transforms one into a cyborg

Obviously written by a fluent statistician, kudos! Note: 3500 KWh for 7 months of time travel is Dirt. Cheap. Like running a 1KW gaming rig or heat blower for 21h a month. Hey, this is a paraphrase of the time machine series "7 days"! I'm liking this guy more and more...

They made an SCP based around the robot from the tears of steel blender movie?
@nibblrrr71242 жыл бұрын
Haha, no. Most Scips don't even have an "official" illustration. The source material for this video - the wiki article by Kalinin - does, but it's actually a photo the famous Big Dog robot! (It also mentions the IRL manufacturer by name as an in-universe Foundation front - which mayyyy or may not be legally dicey? IDK, look at what happened to good ol' 187...) Maybe Big Dog _partially_ inspired Kalinin to write this Scip - then again, it wasn't included it in their first version. And the whole cyborg body horror seems more like a bonus next to the central theme of "humanity is destined for doom, through mechanisms science cannot understand" - so it can't really be "based around" just a cool robot. Volgun - perhaps for legal, aesthetic, or efficiency reasons - picked an existing model with a safe CC-BY license as a base for his take, and did the texturing & rendering himself for this video (see description). It's not the "canonical" look of SCP-2003 - then again, There Is No Canon! :^) (While I wouldn't be surprised if Volgun was good at hard-surface polygon modeling as seen in the Tears of Steel robot as well, it's a quite different skill from the Zbrush sculpting he usually uses to make his own, more organically-shaped models from scratch. And even if you're good at it, it's still work that could be spent on something else. So why not build on a resource that is meant to be used like that? I like the result.)

When was this article written? One of the scenarios sounds surprisingly similar to what we're experiencing now
