And finally, why won't Quynh fight when the prison guard unlocked her handcuff from the wall chain? She just magically teleport into the iron maiden with zero resistance. Anyway, enough of my ranting. Time to get back to the show. Maybe they'll explain why they got captured later on.
@OoginwithanO4 жыл бұрын
@@condorX2 Okay here's my take. Firstly, I don't think they got captured that easily, and the Execution thing, the Englishmen might have thought that they might get cursed or something since they were accused of being witches. The scene where Quynh was getting dragged into the Iron maiden, Quynh had cuffs on her feet and her arms when she was getting dragged by fully grown men ( They just have immortality, not super strength ). So yeah that's just what I think.

The movie is insanely good, in terms of history and character development just seeing Quynh's face in terror was enough to spark a huge reaction. How they take immortality so lightly and the thought of torture a nuisance but when she realizes what they're going to do she freaks out, knowing it's one if not the worst things they can do to them. IE I think burning them alive would be more forgiving, they would burn slower and die, be reborn from their ashes days if not weeks later depending on how long it takes for the regeneration to be able to escape. Also Merrick was fantastic, the second thought of being a human test subject and locked up for centuries for tissue collection seems horrific. I know the budget wasn't as big and it would have been nicer to see more flashback stories; IE Joe and Nicky killing each other over and over during what I would presume is The Battle of Waterloo ( Napoleon's last battle ).

My theory is that Qhuin(I don't really know how to spell it) returned to be their new enemy in the sequel,I think she will seek revenge on Andy to see her suffer and die(remember what Andy said? "I made a promise and I broke it") Qhuin remembered what she said and kept that promise and waited for her for a long time but then she never came and that's why she seeks revenge on andy with the help of booker. After I watched the video :oooops he already have that hypothesis.

If they follow the graphic novels, Booker won't join her. He has no reason to, he knows what he did was wrong and he knows he was to pay the price for his betrayal. I actually like the fact that it wasn't your typical movie betrayal. He didn't do it for power or money. He thought he was helping find a cure to their immortality. Sadly, he was wrong and risked them being tortured for years. But overall they have done nothing to him to justify him to side with Quynh.

I liked the movie a lot. For Qunyh, they could have hired scuba divers, search teams anything with all the years they have been alive I mean they could have had billions of dollars and searched for her. Yeah, the ocean is huge I know but with all that time they could have found her with more effort.
@traveltheworld83744 жыл бұрын
@Blitzing Peaces I understand that. I'm saying Andy knew what ocean she was dropped in. She gave up that's what I'm saying she could have hired more people at the current time she was living in. Qunyh was dying every 5-10 mins I would not have stopped searching for her.

If they can regenerate like they do in the movie then they could have been world class bodybuilders, think about it, muscles get bigger and stronger when they heal from the damage of working out, an instant healing factor would practically eliminate the need for recovery time allowing them to build muscle rapidly.

A question is asked in the movie by the new immortal (terrible with names). She asks, "are you good guys or bad guys?" The answer by one of the members of the old guard was "depends on which century". Personally, I think that it will be that Quynh was always bad, and Andy realized this after a few years without her. Still Andy would harbour guild for choosing to not find a way to release Quynh.

Sequel or series? I think the statement that Copley now works for them leaves it open for ongoing job assignments which makes me think series. You also didn't mention that Quyhn's being alive was foreshadowed. The old guard dreams about 'unmet' new members and the new member also dreams about them. Seeing as how Quyhn was never met by Nile, Nile was still dreaming about her because she was still alive. The others just pretty much ignored Nile dreaming about Quyhn and never mentioned anything about she must still be alive.

5:11 kinda misleading cause Nile didn't really "sacrifice" herself because she knows she will just heal which is what happened but your implying that she died to save Andy. I mean everyone who is watching this have most likely watched the movie but idk this just felt weird.
@checksanity4 жыл бұрын
But she did actually sacrifice herself, it just happens later. By allowing Copley to make her have "died in action" she misses out on the few years before her family would even notice that she isn't aging.

I like the fact it’s a movie, but agree when a movie is good one wants it longer. Some series are a bit.... how to say too long. Filler is added or un-necessary conversations. It’s hard to get the right balance. This could have been a 4 part series maybe. I actually liked the fact it was a 🎥. Just my stupid imho 😁 (after thought): Reminded me of the old manga Mermaid series or any of the other immortal storylines.... Go movie, would recommend....

Biggest issue with the movie was the premise of this person, that is thousands of years old, getting depressed all of a sudden about her actions having no affect and stating 'it has just gotten worse' over time. Any individual who has glossed over human history for the last few centuries, let alone the previous millennia, would know how much life has changed for humanity across the globe, with nearly all of it for the better.

Ofc she came back for revenge. Andy gave up searching for her, it was a betrayal. Mortals give up searching for their missing family is because their life is short, it's unwise to spend their time like that (and the probability of getting their loved ones back alive is slim) . But Andy is freaking immortal, she has all the time in the world! So is Quynh, her suffering could have lasted a very long time! What's more important for Andy in her thousand years of life to do, than to rescue her partner from endless suffering? If the same thing happens to Nicky, do you think Joe would just give up searching? Never. She has every right to hate Andy and I hope she' ll get her revenge.

i kinda felt like they jumped to conclude the movie....hear me out ok... before the final scene after they banish booker, they could have shown what happened in the military after Niles left...did they search for her, what happened to andy after she left Quynh and all the decades and decades she was alone (like who did she meet, where did she go, there's a huge chunk of story missing there), backstory of Chiwetel's character of how he lost his wife, how Quynh survived, how come nobody leaked any info of these immortals or how come Merrick didn't have a backup plan since them being immortal and having more knowledge of getting captured over the millennium and not outsmarting them,how come nobody in the age of technology caught pics of niles falling (that was a bit weird, after she fell then everyone gathered around) these were few of many questions i felt and movie just ended...i feel like it could have been 3hrs to 3h 30 min long...i would still watch it...
