I REALLY miss black pudding; I lived in NZ for nearly 30 years. Must see if I can force the hubby to look for some, but I doubt he will. I live in Montana, USA now since 2006.

Well I live in America, but was born ,and raised in England,and you can buy blood sausages here,people from places like Brazil,Argentina,eat them,Irish butchers make black pudding,British import shops have them,and you can get blocks of pigs blood in Chinese supermarkets,and in Thai,Chinese,and Vietnamese restaurants they often have blood soup,and let’s not forget the French with their Boudin Noir,so yes a lot of people in the US still eat blood sausages.However not to many American whose families have been here for a few generations,are going to be eating it, just as in the UK more,and more people are saying they won’t eat black pudding.

I've got a local butchers in my town that sells similar quality products. Avoid the big supermarkets and give your cash to the local supplier instead. Keep up the spot on work. So good,it's so hard nowadays to get a good bacon that's not soaked in brine and ends up cooking in white gunge,that's why I use my air fryer for my bacon now as all that stuff drips through the crisper plate,another good one Gareth

Don't know if anyone else does this or if its just me but having a fry up with eggs, square sausage, potato scone, black pudding and a bit of bacon on a buttered roll with some Branston pickle on it aswell so give it a try if you haven't already but I have been having this for over 30 years and still enjoy it

Once you gave that "hmmm", then the squint, the nod, the shake of the head we knew what was coming. That looked absolutely illegally good. Just goes to show you we've being programmed into supermarket processed food and sub standard meat fish and poultry. We need these independent shops and butcher's chains. Bit more pricey? Yes, but look at and taste the difference, that justifies it in my book. Great trip and review 👏👏

Traditional Yorkshire black pudding is oven baked in tins, just like that and all black puddings are fully cooked before they are sold

Gaz it was good to see real food on the program.I use my local butcher and what a difference in the taste.But quality does not come cheap,and many people are confined to cheap super markets.I would advise anyone to try their local butcher now and again just as a treat for the family, what a difference!

That looks an epic haul, Gareth! I'd have sliced the black pudding in half again so it wasn't as thick. The only butchers up north I've found that make their own black pudding is JB Meays in Leeds. Theirs is truly awesome, I buy it all when I'm passing.

Best black pudding I've ever had in the UK was from a butcher's in the lake district, its been extremely hard to beat it so far. In my home country of Ireland black and white pudding is king and I always miss it. Wish they sold white pudding here in the UK its awesome.

I find the best way to cook sausages, whether British or German, is in the air fryer. Bacon as well. Two back bacon rashers at 180° on air crisp. For sausages, usually about 10 minutes at 190° on Bake/Roast setting, turning once. The instant thermometer is great for testing the sausages.

Regarding a mic, I don't think you need it, the audio is clear for me. I've watched other TY videos like yours, and someone eating with a mic nearby them for me isn't pleasant with over-emphasized chewing sounds, so if you do get one bear the audio levels in mind when it comes to the tasting! And I really do enjoy your videos, you're very natural in front of the camera.

Tip to white the top of the egg, put the saucepan lid on when cooking and leave on a low heat. Once the top of the yellow just starts to whiten over, it's ready.

I live in Sunderland and travel over the Cumbria for proper black pudding and Cumberland sausage. I used to get it in Grainger Market in Newcastle but they've now all gone to vac packs which I avoid

I have to say that black pudding was so big, the bacon was very good quality. A we tip when your crack your egg in the pan cover it with a we pot lid for 2 mins,you will have the perfect yolk.Thank-you for the review❤😊

My butcher mate is doing his own dry cure, I watched him pack a batch but I won't be able to scrounge any till Tuesday as it needs just about a week to cure. It's fantastic. Much better than snotty supermarket bacon..
