Dragons' Den

5 жыл бұрын

Enthusiastic entrepreneur Faheem Badur is looking for an investment of £130K for a return of 15% for Perios, a restaurant franchise based on 'global flavours'. However, confusion quickly fills the Den and the Dragons struggle to understand what they are investing in.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

Please don’t do these weird intros where you start mid pitch and then go back. Your team aren’t capable of making good transitions and also we don’t need that kind of cringey “DONT CLICK AWAY” editing. People come here to simply watch Dragons Den, all you have to do is show an episode of dragons den.

I've finally realised what the fundamental problem is with all these confused pitchers. It's not just communication breakdown, it's the pitcher not understanding the target audience. You need to understand what information your target audience is after. Given that the pitchers are supposed to be business-minded like the Dragons, and that the Dragons actually ASK for the information they're after, it's pretty poor that the pitcher still cannot answer their relatively simple questions.
@jadethornton7975
@jadethornton7975 4 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. It's amazing that people are still pitching wrong. Especially as the dragons have been asking the same 5 or 6 fundemental questions for years (patterns, forecast growth, entry to market , gross earning, margins). The dragons don't want to be told what's good about your business. They want to know how they can they can make money from your business. So pitch it to them that way. The product will speak for it's self so no need to harp on about how good it is. Talk about how it's gonna make moneys

I think it's because sometimes, deep down, the pitchers know they don't have the numbers to back them up and they think they'll be the ones who manage to BS their way to an offer despite seasons of evidence to the obvious contrary. A bit like buying a lottery ticket everytime because you might win even if the chances are ridiculously low.

Criticise him all you want but you will look stupid; he is the first complete failure on Dragon's Den to come straight out and admit it was his own fault and that means it is likely he can go home and resolve the problems. That is what makes this a good pitch because he had to give up nothing and yet gain insight from successful investors.
