Now that means that in high concentrations, it may displace the oxygen supply you need for breathing, particularly in confined spaces like the inspection pit in my garage. Yep, I tell you hwat. And even worse, decreased oxygen can cause suffocation and loss of consciousness. It can also cause a whole heap of bad stuff like headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, and loss of coordination. Now you ain't tellin' me you want to be put at risk of any of that. Should have put in an induction stove. They've been popular in Europe for decades. Basically its an electric stove but instead of using an electric heat element, it uses a giant magnet to vibrate the iron particles in your pot/pan, that is what heats it up. You can take the pot off and then put your hand directly on the "burner" and it might be warm from the heat of the pan, but it won't burn you. Seriously they are amazing tech if you never used one, gives you the same control as a gas stove, can boil a pot of water in under a minute. Would have been way cheaper in this case, lot of labor/expense to install that propane tank.

I suggest people hire professionals who know the code and the safety reasons for the code. I've seen This Old House make mistakes that can make a person ill or worse. In this video, they should have gone over how a vent is needed that exhausts from over the range to the exterior of the house, and to use it even if just the oven is in use. That would remove toxic Carbon Monoxide and other pollutants. Some vents look like they do, yet really just blow the air back into the room through a cheap, ineffective filter.

@chriswood98083 жыл бұрын
I’m surprised Hank wasn’t able to help you with this 😂… it all depends on what size line you are running. It’s best to keep your generator as close to your propane tank (within codes) as possible. If you run 10 psi from the tank, you should have enough pressure and volume to run your generator with copper pipe as small as 1/2”. If you google “pipe sizing charts for propane” you will find charts that tell you the minimum size piping to carry the needed BTU for your generator (or any appliance). Hope this helps

Missing steps: 1. Install a 120 volt outlet. If the kitchen was built for electric, that outlet would not have been there already. 2. Clean behind the old stove. There's no way it would have been spotless like that. 3. Set up the appliance for propane. This involves changing the nozzles on each burner and the regulator near the gas inlet. 4. The gas pipe needs to be bonded to the home's electrical ground in order to pass inspection. Also I wouldn't want to eat lasagna made in that tiny second oven. There's not enough room for steam to vent out and it would be soggy.

The bonding conductor(s) or jumper(s) shall be sized in accordance with 250.122, using the rating of the circuit that is likely to energize the piping system(s). The equipment grounding conductor for the circuit that is likely to energize the piping shall be permitted to serve as the bonding means. The points of attachment of the bonding jumper(s) shall be accessible." It clearly says THE EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTOR FOR THE CIRCUIT. It says nothing about an appliance, which may or may not be plugged in, acting as the inter system bond. In my home, for example, I have a gas service that enters the house in the exterior wall of the kitchen. It is bonded to the CIRCUIT of the outlet to which the gas stove is attached. Not to the appliance itself. Not through the ground pin of the plug. There is a #6 wire bonding the gas and electric services, and that bond remains in place even if I were to disconnect the stove from either or both services. This is by-the-book (literally) service bonding, and every gasfitter and electrician knows it.
