I see so many people bitching saying they want a more serious Ragnarok movie, but why does it matter if it's good? Besides, Ragnarok was serious when it needed to be and funny when it could be. What a great film. I think it may have the best dialogue out of every MCU movie. The comedy is so witty and clever. And no love interest! Thank god! Marvel allowed a creative director to do his thing, and it paid off tremendously.

TRAGICTACTICS, oh I'm aware. I just don't get why they act like humor is a bad thing.. I just care if I have a good movie. Folks are acting like Thor's a comedy when it's Action/Adventure.

I’m a huge fan of all the superhero films and television shows (animated and live-action); but Thor: Ragnarok was a HUGE miss. The humor was so dry. I was in a screening with about 40 people; and nobody was laughing during the film. I myself only laughed a couple of times. It may be because they showed so much in the marketing. I generally see these movies in the theater 2-5 times; but this one is only getting 1 theatrical viewing. Part of me thinks that the only reason this one may even be successful is because it’s so tied in to the other films of the greater MCU. I enjoyed the first Thor film the most in this franchise and even enjoyed Thor: The Dark World so much more than Thor: Ragnarok. 😔 The upside is that now we’re only just less than 2 weeks from Justice League! 🤗

I don't mind humor, but nothing was taken seriously. Make it a mixed bag, it just seemed like the whole movie was a goof to laugh at, and nothing more.

Naveed Akhtar, except for Odin's death, Asgard's demise, Thor feeling like he wasn't enough, Valkry feeling like a failure, and Hulk feeling alone. Mind you, we could've had some more moments like that, but let's not be blind and pretend they weren't there

Tim: Inconsequential, are you kidding? Spoilers ahead! THEY BLOW UP ASGARD. How could that possibly be inconsequential? Thor loses an eye and gains real god of lightening powers, Loki sneaks off with the tesseract, we get Valkyrie, a brand new character, Banner gets terrified of becoming the hulk after being him for 2 years, etc.

In the first Thor film I really enjoyed the comedic scenes such as when he smashed the cup. Moments like that were lacking from the forgettable sequel. Glad to hear positive comments about this one! Definitely going to see it :)

Where Odin was standing in the grass (spoiler alert) it's where Asgard gets rebuilt. In the comics Asgard is distorted and they remove to earth until they rebuild they home

Thor Ragnarok is easily my favorite marvel movie where winter soldier was previously my favorite. It was just incredible, so much fun, so well written, and so fucking awesome.

I love the movie but I think the flaw in the movie is that when there is something tragic or some dramatic scene happened there is always a joke to follow it up. For example, when Bruce Banner said if I change back to the Hulk he might never comeback. Then he sacrificed himself by jumping off the spaceship goes splat, we laugh and then he turns into Hulk and never changed back Bruce. I know its the director Taika Watiti style of direction of mixing comedy w/ tragedy in his films but I think the criticism of not letting some of the serious scenes to develope w/out a joke follow up is a valid one.

The only reason Hulk doesn't have his own movie is because of contract/license issues. Universal still own the rights to Hulk standalone movies.

Going with the gf tomorrow to watch it, we usually go see new movies on Thursday nights to try and beat the opening week crowds It’s gonna be packed though since it’s a Marvel movie, it always it. I can’t wait! Haven’t seen the Hulk on screen in such a while. Mark Ruffalo is awesome

Someone should tell Tim that Marvel Studios does not have the rights for a stand alone Hulk film. It's is not that they don't want to do stand alone hulk films. Universal has those rights. That is why he has such an involvement in this film, he will be featured in a couple mores films as well that will expand on his story ark.

That's wrong about Thanos and Hela. Thanos does want to court Hela the Goddess of Death. Him loving "death" is loving her, she is death. She's not into him though at first, she just strings him along and uses him because she's in love with Deadpool as is he with her. Then Thanos finds out, gets all pissy and curses Deadpool with eternal life so he can never be with Hela. She later has a kid with Thanos, named Rot. Fact. Hulk IS popular. He doesn’t get a movie because his movie rights are tied up with Paramount. Hela is related to Thanos. Thanos - in the comics - is in love with Death. I think the MCU is going to have Thanos fall for Hela.

They're not actually adapting the stories of Norse mythology, you know? It's Marvels Thor, historically he wasn't hanging out with a big green rage monster and he wasn't part of a team called the Avengers. They took creative liberties and made Ragnarok their own, just like Disney's Hercules did with it's source material.

Tim's backhanded compliments are a bit much. I hope one day one of the comedy centric ones get in his top 5 because they deserve to be looked at like the rest. Also Bruce becomes like this the longer his becomes Hulk which comes up later in the comics when he does something major. This will all matter in the grand scheme as well due to the end that is a massive leap in the comics and will for sure come up (trying to not spoil things).
