----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Foot Drop can be a difficult symptom of MS. However, it can be managed and possibly reduced to keep you functional.
The following foot drop exercises have helped my clients:
1. Find tender spots of bottom of foot and massage spots for 30 sec
2. Hold ankle still and focus on LIFTING toes up, pause for 2-3 sec and then release toes. NOTE: Do not let ankle move. Perform 15-30 reps.
3. Find tender spots on calf, achilles tendon, massage spots 30-45 sec.
4. Perform ankle mobilization on 2-4" step (see video) 10-15 reps
5. Perform Foot Pull back off the wall: Sit w/ feet flat against wall, legs straight. Pull toes & ankle back, pause 2-3 sec.

I know this video is five years old but I just found you because I literally developed foot drop out of nowhere about two weeks ago. I’ve had numbness and tingling in my feet and legs for a few years but one day I went to get up from a chair and I couldn’t walk. I actually have it in both feet but one foot is better than the other. I’m going for some testing to see if it’s a MS or something else but this video for the foot drop is exactly what I need. I’m gonna look to see if you’ve made additional videos. I’m a very active person and the fact that I can’t walk or do my yoga because of this foot is something I am not willing to accept. I am going to do everything I can to overcome this.

It took me 5 years of doing his videos. everyday but it paid off and I'm so thankful for these videos. It's not going to happen in a week it's not going to happen in a month and I know that because I have Ms. I didn't see progress until year four and everything changed at year 5. My foot was paralyzed. Couldn't feel it My toes curled. You got to want it everyday and things will happen.

These exercises are definitely beneficial. I'm seeing some improvement in just three sesssions. There is one other problem I need to address and that is my right leg tends to hyperextend to the right which throughs me off balance. Do you have an exercise to strengthen the leg to take care of this issue. Thanks so much. Your videos are the only exercises that have helped me so far. I'm so happy to be able to see some improvements and will continue to do the exercises.

Hi Khuloud, I help Trevor out with the KZbin site. The answer is Yes. I personally use a Purewave massager on the bottom of my feet. You can use your thumbs or put a tennis ball under your foot and roll it under your foot seated or standing. Same for your knees.

Thank you so much! I just got back from my second session of physical therapy feeling frustrated, as the exercises I'm being taught have nothing to do with foot drop, which is why I was referred to begin with. I was told that there are not exercises to help with foot drop, only exercises to help prevent muscle atrophy. This video makes me feel optimistic. Even if it doesn't give me magical results, I can't do nothing. Something has to be better than nothing. I'm getting a brace to help with it as well. Do you think that will negate the effects of these exercises?
@TheMSGym
@TheMSGym 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Evie, glad you are finding help here. You CAN counteract foot drop. I have success stories sent to me daily about how much better people's feet are moving. It takes time but is possible. You can use the brace when walking or exercising to help you balance but try to now use it with these exercises. Also, if you are interested in a PDF version of this Foot Drop program check out" www.ExerciseWithMS.com

Okay, so I have not been diagnosed with MS, however I've been suffering greatly with what the orthopedist said was "hidden sciatica"! 🤔😡 I've been dragging/swinging my leg because there was no other way to get around & I know it's damaging my body more. My hips/back would get sooo tight within seconds of trying to walk. I just did these & OH MY 😲.... I'm actually able to kinda walk "normal".

I'm no expert but I do have MS and for me it's just pain.. no physical break or anything so if I can tolerate it.. I just keep going. It's about the pain for me and whether or not a given muscle group works like it's supposed to.. i.e. moves when I tell it to and where I tell it to. I think every bit of exercise I can accomplish can only be good for me.

Thank you for these exercises sir. I have downloaded them on my phone. Furthermore, what can I do to strengthen my toes? I have weak toes on both feet . My toes can't hold a slipper (my big toe and the small toe are kinda widely apart from eachother. I have like a wide space in the middle between them). When I try to walk with a normal slipper, my feet just slide out of them and I end up walking barefoot. Thank you for the reply Sir@@TheMSGym
