You’re bringing back memories of Shishangeni. ❤ The more I see you moving around, fully experiencing your body, the more I understand my own process. You’re inspiring, Lawrence. Thank you.

Running in the rain in London brings back fond memories (but not too much 😉)

Oh wow, penny drop moment there. I’d been turning my upper body rather than rotating my whole hip outwards. That really loosens out the hip like never before 👏🏻

Very informative, thank you! Will add some rounding + arching in the Awesomizer and Adductor Hammy wide legged somefingsomefing. And “foot clocks” in sliders. “So much room for activities”

Could you expand on the relation between the eyes, neck, lower back and hamstrings? I seem to have chronically tight hamstrings (they feel like one tight cilinder) and neck pain so very interested!
@LawrencevanLingenАй бұрын
Simply. Eyes and upper neck muscles are linked directly because if you have to track an object, think thrown ball or bird. For your eyes to track you have to turn your head. Upper cervical (neck) region and lower back region are linked mechanically and also through deeper relationships in terms of dura mater and spinal cord and also for very similar reasons to eyes and top of neck. If your head turns your body follows logic. Lowe back and hamstring tension are directly related mechanically and Laos indirectly due to nerve tension. So how all of these interplay is kid of a complex dance and there are most factors at stake. Increasingly modern medicine is starting to assess neck health in lower back pain. So the easiest way out of all of this is to realize that ease in one area is ease in another area. And to make everything as healthy as possible and recognize when change has been made. You can work someone’s upper vertical region and they can feel strong sensation in their tow and other people it makes zero difference. So it is highly variable how these interactions play out

Thanks Lawrence, that's what I need today....you are the best ! By the way your exercises are amazing, and they have been helping a lot, but in the last weeks i increased my running milage a bit and I'm starting to experience some pain in the back of my left hips, that looks like pyriform or sciatic pain...do you have any tips or idea about what can cause it? Could it be too much hips lateral or posterior rotation?
@LawrencevanLingen7 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes the above exercise should be ok for those possibilities. For piriformis make sure you walk backwards and understand hip function in running. If it’s high hamstring it will literally be a pin in the butt at the top of the hamstrings especially when you sit. Kinda same deal, walk backwards and make sure you have proper hip function and definitely don’t over stretch

@@LawrencevanLingen thanks , actually as i commentated some weeks ago, i've been following your tips, and adopting contralateral movements, backwards walking, pinguins, Awesomiser and my running has been transformed😀 , i'm way faster than before, my ankle and feet pain disappeared completely.. just I've this slight pain that i think might be related to the pyriform .. maybe it's caused by the fact that sometimes i've had exaggerated with the hips turning in the contralateral process, especially at slower speed.. and i do stretch a lot after every run...anyway in the last days i'm feeling much better.. thanks i'll keep watching your precious videos
