( www.EverymanTri.com) Three time Ironman World Champion Craig Alexander has a new book that's been in the making for over a year. "As the Crow Flies: My Journey to Ironman World Champion," is a new coffee table book that follows Crowie as he trains and prepares for the Kona, Hawaii Ironman Word Championships. At 39-years-old, Craig Alexander is one of the oldest professional triathletes to compete and win at the Ironman World Championships in Kona Hawaii. In this second video we sit down with Craig and get up close and personal with the Aussie champ and discuss the 2012 Ironman World Championships and shattered hopes of racing Lance Armstrong in Kona.

I got to meet Crowie at the W hotel in Boston a couple weeks ago! He's so nice and down to earth. A real inspiration!

Probably the best most honest assessment of the Lance situation - this guy is class all the way.

I agree with Crowie completely with regard to Lance's situation. Probably the fairest and most rational analysis of the situation I've heard.

SharpWizard When other athletes start comparing Lance's doping to cutting a corner in a race, you know you're listening to someone who is ignorant and uninformed in regards to what Lance really did. He said he "read all the books", but if that's true, he obviously didn't understand the points made in them. It's also a worry that maybe these athletes have done the same thing (used PEDs), and can't bring themselves to knock someone who got caught doing what they also did. Who knows, maybe they will be caught and they don't want to look like a huge hypocrite. The degree that Lance cheated with his highly sophisticated doping program and leading others to dope also, goes far beyond some minor breaking of the rules like intentionally picking up a momentary draft when a car passes, etc.

"Doping is no different to me than drafting or cutting the course." Or, in the sport of baseball, throwing a spitter or scuff ball or doctoring it with vaseline. "Cheating" is and always has been an integral, organic part of certain sports. Hank Aaron used 'greenies', as did most big leaguers and road racers for many decades. Most all of them.

The question is whether Lance would have arrived in Kona dope free?

What Craig is basically saying is that he doesn't care if Lance cheated, as long is he brought more exposure to 'his' sport. Isn't that selfish. If that's true, he's no better than all the people who benefited from Lance's success, like the corrupt sponsors that looked the other way. Fortunately, some sponsors want to do the 'right thing' and sue to get their money back that they paid to Lance in bonuses. When you pay millions of dollars for a victory, you don't pay that money to have the biggest cheat win and then degrade the reputation of the sport and its sponsors. This was a horrendous atrocity that Lance did.
