When the tin cans are in the warehouse . Sometimes rats urinate and poo on the cans. Then the manufacturer ships the cans to your local grocery store where you the consumers buy it. That's why you wash your cans before you open it. FACTS 😏👍🏾👍🏾.

Yes, i peel off the top part of the label and wash the top of the can with dish water and rinse before I open the can. The top can be dusty and dirty, and the paper gets stuck in the top sometimes. If the top drops down in the can, you get dirt in your food. Simple

Man I love this video. I am starving watching it and wish I was in the kitchen eating it as soon as it cooks. Keep up the hygiene standards Miss Debbie. People should know that they are not supposed to drink straight from bottles or cans without washing the container first. Just as you cleaned the the tin mackerel before you opened it was the right thing to do. Rats urinate on all these containers and give humans a disease called Leptospirosis which will put you in hospital and could even be fatal. Good work and well done.

Oh Miss Debbie, I just start watching your channel and you make me laugh so hard. Make me miss Jamaica. As a little girl growing up I always see my mother washing the top of cans and the fruits with soap when she comes from the store, and when she is ready to use, she would take the labels off and rinse again. I'm now 65yrs old, still doing it and my kids are doing it also. My kids thought I was OCD, but when I explain that people touch & feel the fruits and the cans sit in warehouse & on store shelves where possibly rats & roaches crawl, they follow suit by washing, they even tell their friends to wash their can tops & fruits. Keep being you.

I wash all of my cans before opening them!! I also wash soda cans before drinking out of it or before pouring the contents it into a cup. I’ve been told from young that a lot of these cans are stored in places that have rats crawling all over them, and that people have gotten sick from drinking from cans. Since then, for yearsssss I wash everything lol I am Canadian born, with Jamaican parents ♥️ thank you for the video 🥰
