I didn't realize how big her van was until she was standing at the back showing us the "garage." The van is huge! She can stand up in it, and it truly is a "home." She really prepared, as she custom ordered it, and it's nice to know that she doesn't have to worry about repairs. Being able to retrofit all of her electronics and furniture into the very large space really makes it like an apartment on wheels. A lovely set up, for sure!

Another great solution to deal with the high cost of renting or buying a home. Nice build. Answering the question what I would have a hard time getting rid of would be my books. I am working on that by having ebooks or checkout books from the library but I still love having physical books.

I watched videos on vehicle builds for hrs on end. I then bought a 24' short bus. I have totally converted it ... keeping it simple ... and fixing it the way I want. Inside is now done. Solar panel system is next. I have the panels, just need to make roof brackets and mount them. Then buy batteries etc. I have been working on it for almost 3 yrs now...part time. Hope to be done in 6 months. Going to sell my house and everything else. and then start my nomadic life. I cant wait to get out there again. I used to drive semi and basically live out of my truck and stay out 3-4 months at a time. I will be traveling with my dog, Gracie. She is a mini Aussie and loved the trucking life. I love everything about this rig! I'm 64 and hoping to move into such a lifestyle, although I would use your sunglasses display rack for my own obsession which is seasonings, so all my bottles and jars of various herbs and spices would go there. I have been cooking "small" for many years and making it work with all my seasonings. 😊

It has taken a lot of experimentation and happy accidents to come up with some of my favorites, but here are some examples: 1) When I make soup with a clear broth I like to season it with a combination of 3-quarter tsp. each of bouillon powder and pesto paste per cup of soup. The combination is simple and contains all the seasoning needed. 2) When I want a creamy broth, I use caraway seed, Worcestershire sauce and sour cream (and sometimes instant potato flakes), sort of like a stroganoff, but I just taste as I go to get the right amounts. Hint: a little caraway goes a looong way! 3) Chili powder and curry powder combined in equal amounts works perfectly for anything Southwestern/Mexican or Central Asian. Both are a mix of spices, and they have a few spices in common (like cumin, salt and pepper). You can also use that combination to make a dip by mixing equal amounts of mayo and sour cream, then seasoning it with the chili powder-curry mix. 4) If a dish needs more flavor, but not more salt, I add some "salt-free" seasoning because those mixes contain a terrific combination of all kinds of herbs and spices that are super flavorful. 5) I keep pumpkin pie spice on hand to sprinkle over coffee grounds before I brew it to give it a wonderful savory flavor. 6) "Everything Bagel Seasoning" is perfect on sandwiches and salads and sprinkled over dips. 7) I make my own salad dressing by putting a package of pickling spice in the bottom of a quart-size jar, then loosely stuff it full of a fresh herb (I like tarragon), then fill the rest of the jar to the top with apple cider vinegar. Screw the top on and let it steep in the fridge for at least a couple of weeks before using. Then I just combine that with oil for a salad. 8) Add dry or fresh rosemary (or any other herb you like) to cooking oil before sauteing vegetables. Wow, I guess I got a little carried away here! I was only going to list about 3 examples, but it was fun thinking of them. Anyway, I hope these are helpful. 🧑‍🍳
