thanks for sharing this. really helpful! i have a question. how do you zoom in and out in different frames during the animation? if, for instance, i needed to zoom into my character's face at a point, how would i do that?

there isn't a zoom tool, but you can stretch the image out so that the characters face is the only thing in the frame

im trying to make the background black and the lineart white. i put them on two separate layers but when i go onto the next frame the onion skin doesnt show. im pretty sure it has to do with how the background is black, but if the lineart is a completely different colour and on a layer above the background, then why wont it work?

Why when I move them around put something on top of my background and then try and move it.... It goes behind the picture..... And can't see any onion skins either...

Just got to know I can toggle the background image on and off by clicking on the small button before the layer. It really helps me in onion skinning the foreground image :). Thanks for the tutorial

If you haven’t figured out yet, if you click the camera layer twice, it will bring up the width and height of the canvas and adjust them accordingly

But if you want to change the backroung to another, how do you do?? Like if you want the first background to stay 10 secondes and at the end of those 10 secondes you want another background, how do you do??

I think that you add keys until its 10 seconds then after those keys you add other keys with the second background

You should have a small interface called "Display" on the left-hand side right below the options for the tools. You want to click there on one or both of the "Onionskin" options located third from left.

Hi TJ Would you know of any simple tutorials with a step by step guide on how to create something? For animation beginners, for the first time pupils see this program. Do you have or know anything that starts from a blank canvas - Tutorials suitable for lessons - 1 hour long I am finding most tutorials are just showing how to use pencil2D and all its features. I want to give pupils a simple tutorial to follow so they create a simple animation and learn the just skills and tools to do this. I cannot let them just “play” on pencil 2D as they need something to watch, follow and do. All I can find and higher level tutorials which a young teenager would not have the patience or skill to follow…. A different tutorial for each lesson would be ideal... so the will slowly pick up the skills by making simple animations. (A video would have to be based on the default layout Pencil2D as this is what they will be using) Any suggestions? Thanks
