@DarthYodaJammin5 жыл бұрын
To be fair, a good portion of ballroom dancing involves women doing the work. And as a ballerina I pretty much had to do all the cool stuff in the choreography and my partner maybe supported me and lifted me a few times, even though I could have kept my balance and jumped high enough to execute the steps just fine. That's kind of how partner dancing works. Ed Sheeran maybe stands out with it in the music video because what she's doing is just that nice.

I think the intention behind the line is the implication that many people get so caught up in a fantastical, idea of love that they don’t even notice what’s right in front of them and if they did, they’d actually find love. i don’t think it’s necessarily a bad line but i do feel like Ed Sheehan doesn’t do enough with it that it ends up being throwaway. My favorite growing old together song will probably forever be Growing Old With You. It's got a really nice charm to it, and I like the idea of listing off just normal couple stuff that every lasting marriage has to deal with like the house needs repairs or someone in the pair gets sick and needs to be taken care of, or even the event where one has to make sure the other doesn't hurt themselves when they get a little too tipsy. Its average, maybe mundane seeming stuff, but the reason they want to experience it is because they want to experience it with the person they love and know that they are taken care of and happy. It's just such an adorable and sweet sentiment. Not to mention it's just such a good way to end probably my favorite Adam Sandler movie.

Delilah wrote about it she said she was puzzled by the song, because she was already with the guy who she ended up marrying and the song was a love song. I agree that sappy acoustic love songs are annoying but I guess everybody likes at leas one and this is one of mine. I think that Bruno Mars can't pull off this kind of song at all. He has the voice for it (his voice is smooth as all get out) but I don't believe him when he sings these songs. I think The Way You Are is total B.S and Grenade too. I much prefer Uptown Funk and 24 K Magic Bruno Mars we have now to his previous incarnation, because Bruno is a great showman. I fully believe that he can get a crowd fired up. Finally, the keeping my thoughts to myself joke was pretty great. I have been watching your channel all day and I love it. Your videos are never too long and they are insightful and well researched. Todd, *please* edit the audio in your videos better. The audio on the song itself is much louder than the audio on your own voice here, so I have to keep adjusting my volume.

+Ranger Kasdorf I think he just throws the videos onto KZbin, judging by the names of the videos.

+AlexBelanger100 the videos have kinda bland names because he's had lots of videos taken down for copy right violations because KZbin is ridiculous.

"Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?" I'm not alone when I say I always took that as a reference to kissing, right? I mean, it's still gross, but mainly because I don't have any desire to French kiss Ed Sheeran lol
@anthonydeadman3 жыл бұрын
I mean...it could probably mean something else too which...is even more disgusting if you were to sing that publicly to someone.

The way he says “we found love right where we are” sounds like a fucking commercial jingle.

The first time I heard this song was at my senior ball, and I still remember thinking it was some dull old wedding standard from the mid-‘80’s at the absolute latest. I’m glad I went with a friend who didn’t want to slow dance, ‘cause if I had genuinely romantic memories attached to this, it’d be embarassing

The few brief words that Todd said in regards to marriage were more inspiring than anything in this song.

This song is horribly boring and slow but it's like speed metal levels of excitement and energy compared to his song "Photograph" A song so bland and boring it's like he was trying to out Nickelback Nickelback
@alluneedislessthan38 жыл бұрын
I'm a huge Ed sheeran fan and I still don't understand why "Photograph" was made into a single. It was always one of the the songs on the album I skipped because it's so bland and forgettable. He has much better material in my opinion.
@mikerivera3737 жыл бұрын
Zac _ I actually really like Photograph. I really love the simplicity of it. Keeping a picture during a long distance relationship to remember all the memories and love you have for someone. And maybe it's that I'm still only 18, but I've never really heard of any songs using that idea. Idk, I think it's an incredibly sweet song. And the slowness is part of what helps you realize how simple, yet true, it is.

If " and the crowds don't remember my name" was replaced with "and I can't remember our/my/your name" that might have served the overall theme of the song better.

So, among all your complaints, at no point did you point out how stupid the line is that goes "I'll be loving you until we're 70"? This isn't 1307 AD. It's quite common for people to live well past the age of 70 now lol

Jane Recluse i mean getting a deal like this must be great for a dancer, they could be strugling to find an underpaid job to do the thing they love while delivering on a fast food restaurant or something

The "right where we are" lyric actually made sense to me. I grew up in a small town full of garbage people so the idea of needing to travel somewhere else to find people worth loving is a common one. So it would be worth stating that "hey, we didn't need to go off to greener pastures, what we wanted was right here all along." I can't believe I just defended Ed Sheeran.

I like "Hey There, Delilah" too. Even back in high school, I knew it was a little corny, but I really liked it. It's sweet and genuine, unlike this song which is outright pretentious.

I was surprised recently to find out that Ed Sheeran is from a fairly well to do background. His whole image is that of a guy who was busking on the street and got discovered, but his parents are big time art dealers. It makes sense though based on his music though. His music doesn't fit his image but it makes sense if you think of it as coming from someone who has never had to worry about money.
