Not to even mention how underrated Mike Campbell is. His ability to craft memorable riffs and solos make him stand out for those who appreciate musicianship that complements rather than dominates music. However, here, you're truly able to see how talented he is. Especially given that this is not even one of their songs and you would of think he has played this thousands of times. This was so effortless for him
@EvelynBaron5 ай бұрын
The key phrase for me was 'and take some time and learn out to play,' He was heartbreakingly beautiful when young but already no dummy aware of injustices in the music industry and in his last interview showed himself as the man he had become, wise reflective, no loss of humour, willing to do the hard stuff and take risks on behalf of other people. And speak truth to power and give us our own experiences mirrored back from his lyrics and the band's brilliant playing.

@News Now Adirondacks Passing by a year later. Raving about (NaZaReTh) Dan McCafferrtys version only One Line Of the song and Dan is already on the 🌟. Tom sang mellow like he smoked two joints in the morning". and then he smoked another joint then he played E, D and A. Dan sang like it shattered glass and Tom's Smile (Sorry 😧) . Telegram is a cross reference of this song with sound effects of Joni Mitchell's Song faded into it like it's a lost radio station in the car they are riding in.

Mostly Dan NazReTh- McCafferty was a real all time Screamer. Yeah it seems he had this out a bit than 30 years. Not long after Nazareth sort of clipped off a version of this. It's like a "Shout Out" for glass shatterers , in a medley. Tom could sing Ole McDonald for the kid's. Dan was like singing for a Rock &Roll Cru-sade' of Sorts. I'm raving Rating Dan as the Top Screamer singers. I'm headed for Joni Mitchell's Version of "This Flight Tonight" to hook up the songs.

Good to know actually. Me too. The same beautiful youth singing this song knew full well what was in store and his laid back personality couldn't hide his need for stability .. in the band he was obliged to manage and the family he had to take responsibility for. He never stopped questioning authority and corruption. My father was someone who cried easily but had the world on his shoulders and in the end was a lion taken down by jackals. I saw Tom Petty's band on their last tour together, Toronto July 15th 2017. I also saw the toll this took on a truly good man. I think it's harder for guys sometimes because of social constraints blithering a bit. Good comment time to stop talking xxTx

In an era when electric guitars, drums & the like played through small bits of sound gear in small poor acousticed rooms, open outdoor stages and television studios with limitations on the level of decibels they could handle, so often made it difficult for bands to sound clear or good. 😟

This is an excellent cover of the Byrds' song, and of course Petty always sounded a lot like Roger McGuinn (nee Jim McGuinn) somewhat naturally. This version is lively, instrumentally strong, and great fun. Not so much of the biting, more sarcastic quality of the original, but definitely fun in the way Petty and band so obviously enjoy themselves here.

Before the show a gentleman gave me a sticker that gave me access to the pit area. l asked if my husband could come too and he was allowed to join if he didn't stand tall and block the cameras. Unfortunately he couldn't keep the ducking position for too long and was booted from front and center to the side of the stage. He was bummed for a minute until he realized that he was now standing next to Ann Wilson who offered him a beer. Needless to say, this concert was one of the all time best shows we have ever seen in our lives. The band was on fire that night and the audience was into every second of it.

I love Tom Petty's first album, but lost interest in him over the years. Then he made an awesome comeback. I love this song...the whole band is just so into what their doing! It's just a "feel-good" video. Love it.

TPaTH never made a comeback. Never had to because they never went anywhere. You did. And then fortunately for you, you came back to them.

God This Is So Super Awesome! I remember when My Mom played this for me when I was very young. I Fell In Love with the Song and the 12 String Electric Guitar. I heard This Later and Fell In Love Again. RIP MISS YOU TOM PETTY!
