@SittingBull993 жыл бұрын
And I still think he was behind the hit on Tony to end the series. Outstanding grievance over his twin brother that he's kept buried, did whatever was asked of him for years to deflect suspicion, struck when he saw that Tony lost most of his support, and Patrick is about to wed Meadow. If that theory is the correct interpretation, it makes Patsy the Littlefinger of the show.

For that reason the old timers never liked Tony, and disapproved of most of his decisions. And by promoting Christopher so much you can see how the old timers get increasingly more annoyed with Tony. And if you think about it, they were right, Tony basically ended the NJ Italian mafia, just by whacking so many people including his own crew Tony himself in the end had no choice but to admit it was a mistake to try molding Christopher to be his right hand/successor with him being an addict and whacked him

So Patsy as a Made Guy acted as Little Paulie's "champion" in the matter to bring it to the table. From there Patsy gave Little Paulie the ok to plead his case, and then it was up to the Made Guys to discuss and resolve. That's why Patsy chastises Little Paulie when he pipes up, he's already been given consideration, and he doesn't have a say in the deal making.

You are joking, right? Chris was a complete fuckup. He couldnt wipe his ass without someone holding his hand. And then were his liabilities which would have automatically disqualified him from any leadership position. I suppose if you are comparing him to Paulie he would come out a winner on brain power but not by much. And at least you could count on Paulie not to disappear for three day on an H bender. Paulie also knew how to control his bad temper while Chris could not. He killed that waiter in a public place because he disrespected him and also shot at the kid at the bakery in broad daylight. Very high risk actions that are not going to get you very far in the mob UNLESS you have the persona where you walk into a room and scare the shit out of everyone which Chris did not. No one had any respect for or fear of the guy.

This entire clip showcases some of the best use of jokes in the show (not the best jokes, just clever use). First in the way that Ralph's joke went over really well but then gets turned on him later. Second, Silvio's lack of response to Christopher's joke about Paulie's wings

I don't think he's jealous, I think he's just a tiny bit miffed. Silvio probably thought that Chris was too immature for this kind of promotion, and that flippant joke probably just confirmed it to him.
@boybillythebutcher45753 жыл бұрын
Right, right, right. Silvio's acting as a middle point between Tony and his men, and he knows there are some veterans who would've diserved that promotion. So, his attitude towards Chris would be like" "At least he gotta prove he deserves this honour"... then Chris starts dicking around. Ergo, Silvio's face.
@leahcimr11 жыл бұрын
It's the power dynamic: if the guys can agree it between themselves that's the best thing as Tony doesn't have to make a ruling and appear to "take sides" - someone (sometimes both) will end up unhappy. Only when an agreement can't be reached does he step in through Sil.
@kincaidwolf51842 жыл бұрын
No lol, Tony isn't present for business orders because of wire tapings. If Tony is caught giving orders he is implicated in all their crimes as conspiracy to conduct organised crime. He like other bosses act through their subordinates to avoid this issue. Which is why Tony wanted Junior to take the heat

@@nodinitiative Little Paulie was pretty stupid. The actor portraying him was already in his late 40s in this scene so it stand to reason he'd never graduate to a Made Guy, that is unless Tony was indeed whacked and Paulie elevated him.
