Can anyone tell me what the name or part number for the container/organizer that is second from the top? I believe in the video it's called the bit kit? Can't find it at all by googling that name. Does it need the Tough System TSTAK adapter? Thanks!

Hey bud, nice vid. How does the bottle of your socket drawer holding up? No scraping? Moving from metal drawers to something plastic bc I’m looking for something more moveable and compact. Tks!

The issue with the drawers has to do with not being supported correctly from below. As long as there is another one below it or that base dolly, there is no binding. Hasn't worn out, but I'm in a plant with a tool crib now so not using daily. Even if it did, it's modular so wouldn't be a big cost to replace one piece. I'd also consider the Milwaukee and husky drawers, they weren't out when I started putting this stack together.

@@Jaspel Ah I see, thanks for the heads up. I’ll see what I can slide under the bottom one then 👍🏽 I already picked up 8 sets. Btw I have 4 packout drawers, for me it’s not worth putting a bunch of weight in them for something that I PROBABLY use once every other week. I keep my good Dewalt tools in the PO. I also got my wife the husky set with a drawer for her arts and crafts, and for light duty the husky is a real bang for your money. Also have tons of Ridgid, if they would have had drawers and cabinets I would have not gotten into PO to be honest. But boy, are they cool 😎

This is very close to what I've been thinking of doing. I already have the Ridgid stacking set up for my heavier tools, for around the house fixes and such. What I'm aiming it is a set up to keep my PC building and repair tools in. Granted nothing heavier than my hand-held air blower. So that leads me to the question of, how long have you had this set up? I'm looking for drawer longevity. Have you noticed any sagging or such?
@Jaspel
@Jaspel 2 жыл бұрын
The drawers have not degraded over time. I've had drawers for about 3 years but added on overtime. There is an issue with supporting the base or the drawers can catch when weighted down due to bowing but that would be seen day one. I can do a video on it. Sub and I'll post in a day or two.

Good review, and it gave me some ideas for my the tool set I am building to take in my Motor Home. So far it is small with the Craftsman Versastack three drawer ratchet tool set, a two drawer Craftsman Versastack unit and a single drawer Dewalt TStak. Space is at a premium and I am looking to getting my tool set set up. Again, thanks for the ideas.

That's a perfect use for these. I'd stick with drawers as much as possible.

These get it done. I wasn't even looking for a "system." I just wanted all of my power tools in uniform cases, and one day I found the T stack suitcase boxes for 20 bucks apiece on Amazon. So I bought ten of them, and a bunch of egg crate soundproofing foam and went to town. I did not even know they stacked together until after they got here. But now I can make a stack that has all 17 power tools in it (most fit two to a case), grab my dolly and roll. Now the last part was where I wanted something to stack on top to hold al of my batteries and chargers. The suitcase boxes aren't big enough for that, but guess what I found: The Craftsman Versa Stack...clip right on to the DeWey T Stak. They had a big bag that is the perfect size for all of my batteries. Now my batteries are in the red bag, when everything else is black...and they are always on top...because...it's a bag. You can't beat it, given that I am somewhere around 300- 350 all in, including the extra bag and all of the egg crate foam.

Very cool little setup 👍 and don't worry about how clean your tools are...I like to work the same way. Plus, if everything has to end up back in the case at the end of the job, damn right the tools better be clean. If not the drawers would fill up with dirt and grease

Not being disrespectful, but I see a lot of double and triple redundancy in your tool set up, you could reduce your collection by a third or more and still cover every eventuality, and that would still encompass crossover and improvished tool use.

Cool setup. I only have the smallest of those type of DeWalt stack boxes as a mobile Ricoh tech. It's great as a bits box and very slim for carrying in a backpack. Nice to see a general use toolbox in the format and I think you've stocked it well. My only concern is the casters. Is there an option for an upgraded casters, like pneumatic casters with suspension.
@Jaspel
@Jaspel Жыл бұрын
Dewalt has something for the tstaks that is more of a dolly/push cart. I don't think it would be too hard to switch the casters out on this one.

The Klein Torx small precision screwdriver is 21 dollars but it’s nice if you’re on board with them. Hard to beat unless you’re going Wera or smaller brand. What brand is your alignment prybar? I see Proto and Mayhew makes nice looking ones.

@@Jaspel Got last one at my Menards. 5/8 thick. 16 inches long. Very happy with it and for just under 10 dollars it’s gonna pay for itself soon. Thank you for the tip. I’m leaning towards the Tstack but in the winter I rather carry than roll even if I’ve gotta haul in cable and tools for bigger jobs.

Yeah, they aren't primaries but fitted the need for the kit. Easier to set up a new set than to borrow things away. This is torn down and repurposed elsewhere now. Place I'm at now is in manufacturing and I don't need much. Most guys are just glad the engineer showing up is a semi competent tech and has tools to do the diag/work.
