Curry is the only player to ever win a scoring title while being in the 50 40 90 club... That is the very definition of efficiency

No love for Olajuwon? He was the MVP, finals MVP and the defensive player of the year. I'm not saying the guys on the list weren't great but Hakeem was something else

yea I was thinking the same...he really should be on the list...but I guess they put Chef and Larry in front cause they had great stats even though their teams where stacked with HOF's and All Stars

Leonidas it’s almost like they do that sh*t on purpose bro. That particular MVP season stands toe to toe with Jordan’s top MVP season. Also, there is no way in hell you leave off Westbrook’s MVP season, where he averaged a triple double and had one the highest PER’s and THE highest usage rate of all time

Michael Jordan 1988 35 pts, 5.5 reb, 6 ast, 3.2 stl, 1.6 blk, 54%FG Lead the poorly talented then Bulls to a 50-32 record, won the Slam Dunk Contest, won All Star Game MVP, won Defensive Player of the year while also leading the league in points and steals Without a doubt the greatest MVP season of all time!!!

Damn so we're gonna act like Kd didn't average 32ppg, 7.5 rpg, 5.5 apg, 1.3 spg, and .7 bpg on 50.3% FGs, 39.1% 3pt, and 90.1% FT. His streak of 40, 30, and 20 point games wasn't good enough huh? I know he made a shitty decision going to the Warriors but damn man.

@Michael-sh5ft 7 жыл бұрын
He had very good numbers and outside of Lebron James 2009-2013 seasons ,he had the best numbers since Shaq in early 2000s but Magic Johnson 1987 season was more impressive and he lead his team to the Championship.Also Kevin Durant automatically gets disqualify from this list for going to the Golden State Warriors and Kevin Durant defense wasn't anything special during his MVP season(tho a lot better than Stephen Curry defense from this year).

exactly, being a 2 time mvp show greatness, Magic Johnson choked in the finals against Larry Bird in the finals, LA media even called him Tragic Johnson he's still considered and all time great, Isaiah Thomas choked when he was with the pistons in ECF against the celtics too, Lebron has chocked before, all of these players are still the epitome of greatness, he has his entire career to make it up. People are just to quick to hate and it's seriously annoying . Curry isn't even my fav player, just trying to make a point

Jøséph Āntön you are crazy by all stats curry had a better MVP than any other MVP or you will tell me then actually someone in the league led the league in scoring while sitting more than 15 4th quarters. Or made 402 3s averaging 40% or 50% from the field and 90% from ft line. There's no way on earth than any other player top that. He also led the league in steals. What is anyone talking about. You can see this list is bias torwars LeBron and Michael

@MixedTapeVideosNBA 7 жыл бұрын
In the first draft of this list, Kareem's two seasons were 1 and 2. However, when we took at closer look and compared them to the seasons by LeBron and Jordan, we moved them down. (Like most of these lists, there were several versions.) That being said, if someone had that switched (Kareem at 1 and 2), I would totally understand.

LeBron in 2008-09 was transcendent. They didn't win the championship, but individually that was LeBron's best year. He had the highest playoff PER in league history (37+) with at least that many games, he had the highest box +/- of anyone in league history. If you go to basketball reference and look up the stat box +/- , in its explanation it shows a chart where LeBron in 08/09 is far beyond everyone else and the description says in 08/09, LeBron was transcendent. So does he deserve the number 2 spot? Arguably not. Maybe he deserves the number 1 spot.

Danilo Benedetich pretty sure LeBron was also all defense 1st team in 2013 as well as shooting 41% from 3 despite having never been known as an elite 3 pt shooter. In 2013 there was quite literally nothing LeBron couldn't do

True Wade averaged 30.2/7.5/5 and shot a better percentage than LeBron. Kobe lead his team to 65 wins in a ridiculously tough Western conference. Too bad the media gave the award to LeFraud instead.

Andrew Blackop Kobe's PER was only 24.4(250th) compared to all time highs 30.4(17th) from Wade and 31.7(4th) from LeBron. Kobe didn't even come close. But what separates LeBron from Kobe and Wade are the Win Shares. LeBron: 20.3!! ranked 17th all time Wade: 14.7 ranked 140th all time Kobe: 12.7 not even ranked top 250 all time Wade was very close but LeBron definitely edged him out in PER(close), Win Shares and had a way better record. The only reason why Kobe was in the discussion is because the lakers record. His individual stats didn't come close to LeBron nor Wade.
@AtodaZ23
@AtodaZ23 7 жыл бұрын
Even if you compare Kobe's MVP season to LeBron in 2008, he still doesn't come close. You could make the argument that LeBron got robbed. Kobe: 28.3 ppg on 45.9% 5.4 apg 6.3 rpg 1.8 spg 0.8 bpg. 24.2 PER 13.8 WS 6 VORP LeBron: 30 ppg on 48.5% 7.2 apg 7.9 rpb 1.8 spg 1.1 bpg 29.1 PER 15.2 WS 10.1 VORP Not one stat that Kobe leads LeBron in. Not a single one.

nah kareem just has more total points because of logevity and games played jordan is number 1 in ppg... kareem has him edged in season mvps cause he won most of them in the weakest era of the nba ever mid to late 70s (his first 2 mvps were very impressive in 71 and 72) and post 1980 was a complimentary star next to magic and played on a stacked showtime laker team which enabled him to be tied with mikes 6 titles. jordan should have won the mvp over barkley in 93 and malone in 97 but the league had to give it to someone else here and there, and mj would have likely won the 2 titles the rockets won if he didnt retire and maybe the spurs 1 in 99 if he stayed another year. mj was always the best in the league when he played cant say that for kareem. i still have alot of respect for kareem, he is 3rd on my all time list 1. mj 2. wilt 3. kareem 4. magic 5. kobe

Stephen Curry should not be on this list.He played horrible in the finals and he plays no defense. Even during the regular season he played horrible defense and his assist were not very good for the point guard position. Stephen Curry is just a shooter that is mediocre to terrible in other areas of his game so that automatically disqualify him from being on the list.

Mvp is based off the regular season not the post season. Adjusted per 36 mins he averaged 7 assist, which isn't too bad since steph is the score first type of guy. It is true that he is ass at defense, but hey he did lead the league in steals per game. Can you people just stop bitching about Stephen Curry he put up good numbers for a team that won 73 of their 82 games, he deserved to win mvp, just not unanimous.

If Steph Curry is just a shooter, that says a lot about the league. In all seriousness, I think you just hate Steph. There's no way you could've watched his season and say he didn't deserve his MVP. His defense isn't great, true, but just a shooter (converted on about 68% of layup if I remember correctly) is the funniest thing I see said about him cause it's not true. Like at all.

You gotta look beyond the numbers. During Curry's 2nd MVP season, teams started trapping him outside the 3 pt line to disastrous results. It led to ballooning Draymond Green's assist numbers since he was often leading 4 on 3 or 3 on 2's. After that, teams begin to switch everyone against GSW. Houston did it this year to good results and almost dethroned the W's. Point is, Curry change the way how modern defenses are schemed, so even at number 9 he's underrated.
