Bird had 6 seasons straight averaging a double double along with 6-7 assists lebron has never averaged a double double. 10 percent of birds regular season games were triple doubles, 7 percent of lebron’s games were triple doubles that’s regular season in the playoffs 16 % of birds games were triple doubles and 9% of lebron’s games were triple doubles in the playoffs. Bird had 2 50-40-90 seasons lebron has zero, so just because he has a better fg% doesn’t mean he is the better shooter Shaq has a .582 fg% but that don’t mean Shaq a better shooter lebron averaged twice as many free throws a games than bird and bird played in a much harder era of basketball. And how many years and games you play does matter especially when it takes lebron more games and seasons to match birds output. If lebron played in the 80s-90s he would be nowhere near the stats he has his rebounding numbers would be way down, points would be way down cause he wouldn’t get as many ft as well as the fact you had these 7fters who were only out there to tackle somebody’s ass and keep them from the hop he might still have good assists numbers but what bird did passing no one else has ever done this guy was just tapping balls to open guys not even catching then passing just no look tap overs. Bird led rookies in 3s made, 2 in points and ppg, 1st in rebounds and rpg for a rookie, 3rd in assists by a rookie, 2nd in steals, 3rd in blocks by a rookie, top 3 in the main 5 stats for a rookie with a 3s made kicker, magic was top 5 in those stats for a rookie but bird was top 3 for a rookie along with the 3. In all three years that bird won mvp he had more points more rebounds more steals more blocks, more 3s than magic the only stat magic was better at was assists but bird still averaged 7 assists a game. He won 2 out of 3 of his championship in that 3 year stretch DO SOME FUCKING RESEARCH.

Absolutely. Red Auerbach who coached against him said he's the most dominant player he ever coached against. He said they could double team Wilt and hold him to thirty points. Couldn't do it to Elgin. He scored a playoff record 72 I believe against the Celtics. In one game, Red took the clipboard, smashed it down and said......"Can't anyone stop that son of a bitch!!!!!" He averaged 30 plus points per game until a bad knee injury in 65. He still averaged about 24 a game and was still a great player but who knows how much greater he would be rated without that knee injury.

He's the youngest player to reach pretty much every points mark from 10000-25000 and more. 4 MVPs, 2 finals MVPs and has probably the best single player finals performance this year. LeBron's decline was not good enough of a reason for being lower than Rick Barry, and as you said, LeBron is really close to surpassing Bird, maybe another 1-2 Years or so?

You need to watch Bird in his early (prime) years, he had an excellent first step and believe you me, he would have all these sky walkers of today in his 'parachute' club.....

@@thenoseknows1097 I watched some vids about bird good and bad games. I can say he's going to be a great player and dominate. He can shoot the lights off and has elite basketball IQ, but LeBron would still be better than him. He's a better finisher, better defender during his prime, has the same elite IQ and passing ability and longevity.

Yes he would dominate, back then three pointers was not a common thing. Imagine him posting up now when you touch a hair and is a foul or simply dominating with his relentless will and fierce competitiveness would love him play in this era. Even Dirk could have done it better and Dirk would not survived to the bad boys pistons

@@nicksamp515 No, Lebron doesn't have Bird's IQ wich is the highest in NBA history, he doesn't have his shooting, he doesn't have his rebounding, he doesn't have Bird's passing, he isn't even close to being as clutch (Bird is up there with Jordan as the most clutch players ever) and his defense is not better than Bird. Another thing that Bird has over Lebron is his mentality. He was far tougher than James is and much like Jordan and Kobe he had that "I'm going to kill you" mentality and Bird did it all in an era where defense was actually allowed. Bird wouldn't just dominate, he would destroy this league. Bird would be a Luka Doncic on steroids.

The white guys were better at that time because it wasn't a black-dominated sport. In today's game, I don't think they would hold up. Bird would, Pistol would, Stockton would, but some of those pre-dating the 80's and certainly back in the 50's and beyond I don't think so. Certainly would not be all-tine greats But factor in also the game has evolved, negatively I might add, to travelling and carrying being ignored. That makes a HUGE difference.
