Such a beautiful baby, well all babies are beautiful and all are a gift. I can never understand why in today's so-called caring and civilised world these things can happen. I do not care who the father is or what stigma may come with a child when one is not married or from an affair. There are places and people out there that would be so happy to have a child. They will love the child and give it a good life. I know I am a man and I can never understand what a woman feels, but I can have empathy for an innocent child. This is too sad of a story. Craig, Alaska itself is a bit remote and only has a population of roughly 1,000 people today. For comparison, I lived in another rural town in Alaska that had two state troopers for our entire village of 3,000 people. it's like that all over the rural areas of Alaska. I imagine they were probably scrambling to figure out what the hell to do, calling their superiors or outside help, just the typical small town stupidity when it comes to dealing with an emergency situation. For context, in the town I was living in, there was a single male, parked in his truck out on the tundra threatening to kill himself. The troopers in town decided to wait 6 hours for a swat team to fly in from Anchorage to handle the situation. Said Swat team had to crouch down inside of a dump truck while slowly approaching the driver because that was the only thing they could think to use for shelter. Anyway by the time anyone even made contact with him he was long dead. It was pretty sad. And this was only five years ago, I imagine infrastructure was even worse back in the 80s.

Coincidentally I just watched a video recently about an odd case where a couple of teens were killed and put on the tracks to try to hide the fact they'd been murdered, and both police and prosecutors seemed intent on not solving the case. Turns out the case might have involved... hugs... and the prosecutor and the police department were implicated. The only real signs of this at the time were how seemingly incompetently the police were handling things. So honestly the authorities could have been in on it. The mob makes just as much sense, too, honestly, since if enough people are in the know, they would know not to say anything. If the authorities were in on it, this would also explain the railroading of that former crew member.

In college I wrote a thesis paper on the effects of legalizing the sw industry. I had an advisor, it passed an IRB, and was peer reviewed. The conclusion was: No quantifiable negative effects to individuals or society. In fact, STDs were lower; drug use; related street crime; exploitation; trafficking; strain on the justice system; assaults ... everything was LOWER than the current rates. I suspect those results may still hold true 17 years later. We should ask ourselves why we still criminalize this and make it so dangerous? There are always long-term, unforeseen results that can't be predicted in a statistical model; but I have a suspicion it has nothing to do with that, and more to do with the fact that it's seen as "female immorality". I reckon with the Hall-Mills case, Frances either paid someone to commit the murder for her (or had her brother do it), and gave the hitman very specific orders, or she did it herself. The murderer would've needed access to the love letters, so that either means there was a break in to steal them which makes no sense, or more obviously, it was down to one of the widowed partners. The mutilation and the positioning of the bodies is extremely personal, and the way that the priest's face was covered by his hat reminds me a lot of other familicide cases where the perps tend to cover the faces or bodies of their "loved" ones.

Depends on how the beds were spaced. Silencers don't make a gun literally silent, they just make them quieter, they'd still be loud especially in a small room. I highly doubt that's what happened unless he found a really good way to muffle the gun and somehow hid all evidence of it.

Sounds like the arsonist needs to be examined ASAP. This is still unsolved and after hearing that a witness was under a completely false name in a state where a lot of criminals flee to... He should be priority 1 for this.

An insight I have on the seemingly random dog buried on top of Dorothy Jane Scott's body: some killers in the past have also buried animals such as dogs above their victims. If a police dog catches the scent of the body, police will begin digging in that spot. Many criminals believe that if one buries another dead thing above their victim, then the person digging it up will suspect that their K9 caught a faulty scent. This may result in the police overlooking the burial spot. Although I also understand the relevance of the cult connection, I think that it is more likely that the killer was just trying to throw off the police.
@crimsonking440 Жыл бұрын
If you dug a hole to bury your dog and there just coincidentally happens to be another body underneath thats suspicious as fuck. Going back to bury a second thing in the same place is an insane risk to take for someone whos worried about getting caught.

The most mysterious case of the year is this weird neighbors cat who keeps sneaking into the house and my cats refuse to help me chase her away. It's a weird cat, makes weird noises looks weird, has a weird collar. If it's an alien pretending to be a cat I'll find out soon I guess.

I'm not generally the type that enjoys hearing real life horror stories, I have my own... It's immensely heartbreaking. I do like hearing about Heather and her will to live, fighting back. Thank you. Society overlooks these real life heroes too much these days, I'm glad that you presented one. I sent this video to my family that enjoys True Crime, I also like your delivery. I always wonder, which person that got away with a crime, specifically one in these, watches the videos? I'm sure they do. Hopefully, bringing light onto unsolved cases will get more killers caught.

The power brick charger with the camera is definitely a real thing, The Modern Rogue covered in years ago, when one of the hosts found it (The other host set hidden cameras around the recording area) he was in shock saying "This is above suspicion!" and that's absolutely correct.

During the Lindbergh case the authorities were desperate to close the case. I think they would have pinned it on anyone they could have. Also, Charles Lindbergh himself was not a good person. Like, really not good. He didn't really care about any of the children he had. Of course, being a husband and father to three or four different families simultaneously probably didn't help him any.

I found the radio call annoying af just because of Howard Stern. He didn’t give a shit about getting information or anything like that. He was hoping to paint a picture of what society at that point thought of “murderers”. Social outcasts, does drugs, not very smart, ugly etc. He also made a lot of assumptions rather than asking actual questions. He’s lucky he got any information from the dude.
@bunnyluver217611 ай бұрын
Ikr, Howard Stern is so fucking annoying, especially the way he keeps interrupting. If he would have stfu, dude might have had a chance to talk and get details out that could have led to him getting caught.

I've thought about the baby swap and it only makes sense in one context. Sook was so desperate for another daughter, to try again, but she didn't want her husband to know she had been messing around. I think believe she killed Kim's baby and made the swap. Then Kim either figured it out or just had a feeling and just hated her enough to take it out on the sister she was tricked into raising

In terms of the Lindburgh case, thank you for not speculating. The quickest way to put me off on channels like this are when the creators lean into the conspiracy theories and simply start writing true crime fan fiction just for a “more interesting” story. Big props and respect for not adding to that.
@drofnats1962 Жыл бұрын
Doesn't quite add up though, does it? The broken ladder, the babies blanket, the placement of the ransom note all seem staged and knowing which room the Baby slept in can only mean, inside information. But what I did notice was, the Babies left ring finger was longer than the middle finger, maybe that's the reason for the Baby being Cremated, who knows.
@mileenaeupheme19759 ай бұрын
@@drofnats1962 The kidnapper could have simply checked multiple rooms before finding the one the baby was in? Or got lucky the first time? Definitely doesn't only mean inside information.

If you’re looking for a really interesting case, try Graeme Thorne. It’s one of the first ransom cases in Australian history and I believe was the first case to ever use Botanical Evidence, but it was seriously famous in terms of pioneering new forensics tactics and evidence. A lot of people tie it into the Edinburgh case as a similar crime of similar national magnitude. It is one of the most infamous cases in the country. I know a lot about the case as my family was tied into this case quite heavily. Great-grandpa was the prosecutor on this case.

Love your stuff Cadaber, however, I can't entirely agree with your point about people rushing a gunman. In situations like these, people are scared and willing to go along with whatever the gunman demands. Its hard to say what the situation on the boat was like, but I don't think it's unrealistic that the victims complied with the gunman, especially if they believed doing so would mean they would be spared.

While incredibly sad, I hope the story of Darsh Patel reminds people that we are entering the homes of wild animals when going into the woods. Considering he and his friends approached the bear and were within 30 feet of the bear at the time the photo was taken, I wouldn't call the attack *completely* unprovoked; the real fatal mistake was the group turning around and running. Running from a bear kicks in their instinct to go after prey. Interestingly, the location of the park where this occurred is well within the range of a notorious black bear named Cookie from Harriman State Park, just over the border in New York. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of Cookie's offspring; she was easily over 600 lbs and most of the bears in Harriman are related to her. She taught many of them to seek out food from humans and to not be afraid of them. Cookie would eventually be captured and put down after repeatedly acting aggressively, approaching people, and stealing food/attacking campsites with people actively in them. I actually thought this was originally her, until the story clarified that this bear was quickly captured and put down.

"how did 6 people not overpower one man with a gun" are you serious? You mean like every single mass shooting and school shooting ever? How could they ever coordinate such a thing while being shot at? Every now and then someone will rush a shooter, but they're usually just shot and the shooting continues. If anything, mass shooting cases should teach you how extremally unlikely such a reaction is.
