Royal whiptail breeding- mine spawn every 3-4 weeks with 50~140 eggs. They are in neutral water, 25C, but with lots of oxygen from airstones and some flow. I also feed the parents heavily with frozen food and spirulina tabs. I leave the tank as a bit of an algae covered mess for the fry, and also feed the fry spirulina powder twice a day. Seems to work well but they grow very slowly

Top tip for breeding all whiptail species, place an air stone in the bottom of the tank with a stream of bubbles going against a loose piece of glass all the species i spawned laid eggs in the bubble stream then i took the glass out to hatch the eggs

It's been decades since I last kept fish, but I do remember looking into breeding Harlequin Rasboras and reading they have more success in breeding with young males and older females (or was it the other way around?). And the article recommended adding a group of well fed young fish to a group of older ones to initiate breeding. Not sure if this is something that is well known, but maybe it might useful to try.

@johnbessell Сағат бұрын
@@nehireotarulkka8092 My planted tanks is set at 24°it is scaped with an aqua soil base covered with a dark fine sand. Hard scape is Seriyu stone and some drift wood. As for plants I have used anubias coffeefolia, Java moss, anubias paco, cryptocoryne Wendtii, Echinodorus Bolivianus and Micanthemum Monte Carlo. Tank mates are cherry shrimp and bladder snails and recently corydoras. Even with the snails still averaging 10 fry a spawn to free swimming. Water parameters PH 7.6 GH 150 KH 120, Alkalinity 120, water changes about 30- 40%. Have also noticed they do enjoy tannins in the water. Have found that once they were settled the seem to spawn about every 4 weeks and I don't fuss over them. The started about 4 weeks after they were added lighting schedule of 12 hours on. Hope this helps anything else happy to share what I have learn. Happy Otocinclus breeding

I gotta get some bug buffet. You gotta find another secure method of keeping rodents out of your stuff 🤨 They can build a nest out of any loose material paper, tissue, foam, cotton pads. And if any food is left sitting around it's an instant invitation.

Are a lot of those tanks the blue planet series ones? Like 65L, 150L and maybe even 200L? Just asking because I use the same and was thinking of sticking to them. If you have success with them and haven't found anything cheaper at those prices either then I'm guessing they are the best on the market here.
