I have the '23 XLE AWD and I have no problem seeing the MID. Adjust the seat height and steering wheel and you should have no problem. I am 6' tall!

Drove a 2011 base model Prius for 7 years and it was a great. Traded it in for a 2019 limited and it’s been great too. At this mid-30K price tag, it will be interesting to see what happens when the Kia EV3 is available at roughly the same price point in 18 months.

I have a 2019 Prius Hybrid and it is a great car to drive. I can easily get 62 mpg. Also, being able to drive 22 -23 miles w/ just electric mode is a gas saver around town. This has been an excellent way to drive economically.

For the price there's bigger options with great mpg. I liked the Prius v wagon with the big hatch, more functional. This car is a nice urban car for singles and couples.

I get 52 avg mpg in my new Camry Se 2025. I had a 2011 Prius so I wanted the new Prius but it felt cramped on the test drive.

Thanks for your reviews Ben. Always short and sweet while still providing all the information needed. If Toyota had provided a heads up display would have been great but another reviewer pointed out the rake of the windshield does not allow it.

I like toyota prius this is one toyota that is not overpriced and I would spend my money on either this or grand highlander and highlander segment but they should produce more prius they should increase ots production specifically for snowy areas

I hate the way older Prii look. I got the new one just cuz it looks cool, and can save me a bit of change on gas. I smile, and drive nice n slow past the teslas sitting at their charging station. Hybrid is the best of both worlds.

No, the PHEV Prime is the best of both Worlds. We driven our 2024 Prime over 12,000km (7,500+ miles), and only burned three tanks of gas. If the battery dies the car just switches to a hybrid that gives us close to 60 mpg (SE trim). And, the thing cost us over $20,000 less than the cheapest Tesla. No waiting road-side to charge, no association with that asshole Musk either.

@TomLawlor-iq6gm Unless you're considering keeping your Prime until the wheels fall off, vs someone keeping their non Prime until the wheels fall off, the cost of a Prime hybrid battery is a lot higher..it appears about 3x higher than a non Prime hybrid battery. Doing some research, it looks like the Prime batteries need to be replaced at an earlier mileage than non Prime.. on average. So, the gas cost savings of a Prime vs non Prime, all other things being equal, doesn't necessarily make it better. I agree with your statement about Terdsla tho..

@@munkyfu23 I'd like to, with respect, disagree. Our Prime carried a $6,000 premium against the non-prime version (with identical options). The two levels of government furnished $5,000 in rebates when everything was signed. That placed us pretty much with the same standing as a couple (or anybody), buying a non-Prime ,cost wise. However, where we live gas costs in the neighbourhood of $7.00 a gallon ! Our hydro is around .145 kwh In summer temperatures we have been getting very close to 100km (62.5 miles), per charge. Charging the battery (from dry), costs less than $3.00. As good as the 5th Gen Prius Hybrid is, it can't deliver us 100km with $3.00 worth of gas. The Traction battery is warranted for ten years. It's reasonable to think that ten years from now that battery Tech will have evolved and any replacement would perform even better. BTW, we traded a 12 year old Prius C for the Prime. It averaged 4.4l per 100km through-out its service life, meaning the battery was still completely functional.

Design yes, but ruined by the integrated (and raised) license plate rectangle. They could have preserved the design lines and utilized a cover for a recessed area for the license plate should you live in a place that requires the front license plate.

We have a 2024 Prius Prime. To date; we've traveled 12,000+km (7,500+miles), doing daily chores and have burned just 3 tanks of fuel. Unreal. Here, there are no deer, no elks either. There are some locals that can masquerade as Sasquatch's though. They, thankfully, mostly don't cross highways. However, moose are plentiful here. Encountering one of those "gangly herbivores" with our car would be deadly. Trust me, that sloped bonnet would slide completely under their stomachs and have them slide up the glass taking the roof right off the car. We think about this every time we drive, even in our neighborhood. Over-all, here, we average two moose car collisions per day.

Nice looking car. Too bad I can't even get into the rear seat, so taking 4 or 5 adults not from Japan is impossible. Front seat was far too tight for me. My 2013 prius seats 4 big guys easily plus one small woman. I have plenty of room in the front seat. I am less than 6'2" which isn't all that tall. I'm bummed, as my current Prius is pushing 215,000 miles and I was thinking about replacing it with this new one...but not now.

the shrinking of the back seat both in height and leg room is a huge reason why I have not bought one. and I really want something that gets 40MPG+ honestly I don't need the cargo space and to me feels like toyota is using that kind of a gimmick. no reason a catfish camaro, [1999] has MORE back seat room then this brand new purpose built Sedan. I love sedans, and feel like auto markers aren't building them for regular people anymore. if you want leg room, you have to buy a mini-van. or spend 80k on something like a volvo.

The 5th Gen Prius does not come in white. The colour is actually Pearl. You have to look closely to discover that.

@@ksorsomeplace Acura introduced Windchill Pearl around 15 years ago for that upmarket Toyota. Never did see one in person myself. In pictures though, it did appear to be white. We ordered a Prius Prime in 2022, before the 5th Gen was launched. I wanted the Guardian Grey model. My wife wanted a red one at the time. As with most things, she prevailed and we signed-up for the red paint. Fast forward 21 months; and, no red example was anywhere in sight. Then one day the dealer called to say they had a "loose" pearl hue on the lot. We could have it if we were willing to pay a $600 premium for the colour. The trade-in value of our 12 year old model C was diminishing (after all, we'd offered it nearly 2 years prior against the 2022 we ordered). So, we agreed to take the car. To us, the car certainly looked to be white. No big deal. However, 4 months after driving the new Prius home, on a sunny day I was washing the car and happened to peer closely at a stain of road tar. It was only then that I realized the car is not actually white at all. If you stare at the paint from close-up you can clearly see that the finish is identical to an oyster pearl. We haven't begrudged the extra $600 since.

I didn’t have any waitlist issues when I got my hybrid. Plenty of options between stores to negotiate with. And they all so nice about working with me. All by phone and email. But I had to narrow down to one store in the end. That’s the one I physically drove to.

For our family, we own and have owned several Teslas and they are of better quality than over 100 cars we as a family have owned, including several Toyotas and all German makes. Teslas are faster, safer, higher-tech, and have lower maintenance than any other car we have owned. Maybe that is why Tesla's market cap is greater than all other auto manufacturers combined.
