The Tacoma is in huge trouble. It has been dominating the market for a long time, but let’s face it, in a market that is full of competition, this old time legend needs an update. That is exactly what they did, but this time they might have made it worse.
Now don’t get me wrong Toyota makes good trucks, but the numbers don’t lie, and they don’t seem to be on the side of Toyota. This will have a lot of effect, not only on Toyota but on the whole market. So let’s just dive right in.

Studied the new Tacoma. Wanted one and waited. Finally took one for a test. It sucked. Not smooth at all,torque drivetrain,rough ride,super expensive. Had just bought a Rav 4 from same dealer 6 months before. Asked about price. Was told no discount at all. ‘“We don’t have to”. Went to a local Nissan dealer bought a 2024 Frontier PRO4X loaded .handles and rides better. Smooth drivetrain and got a great deal. I hope the cocky ass Toyota Dealers have lots full of Tacomas and I’m so glad I didn’t buy it as I read they’re loaded with problems. Great job Toyota!

No thanks. Was waiting with great anticipation and was deeply disappointed. It looks ok but the 4 cyc, the turbos, and the price. I’ll hold off and possibly see what the domestics are putting up.

My 2024 sr5 has been ok. Has been in the shop for a couple of issues. Mileage is ok. Probably wouldn’t do it again. Might look at a Frontier.

My 2021 3rd Gen Offroad had an MSRP of ~$42,000. A comparable 2024 Offroad is ~$55,000 and comes with a 4 cyl motor. Message to Toyota: You can keep your overly complicated, 4 cyl, and questionable reliable 4th Gen.

2022 Tacoma SR5 4cyl, bare bones. No power but I love it. Simple. Perfect for a senior citizen. If your looking for excessive power get a V-8 Ford. I guess it all comes down to your needs 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Toyota totally ruined the once well-respected dependable Tacoma. The new styling is ugly, the four cylinder turbo, well no thanks and the steep price increases send a stay away from message. Early adopters have reported new transmission issues as well. Between replacing with a four-cylinder turbo that does not get much better fuels economy, lower towing capacity, sad redesign Toyota killed the Tacoma. They need to go back to the drawing board. As a side note, even the Honda Ridgeline which was never in the same league as the Tacoma retained it’s six cylinder engine. As the old saying goes do not fix what’s not brokenToyota totally runined the once well respected dependable Tacoma. The new stylying is ugly, the four cylender

Cost way too much for a 4-cylinder I don't care if it's turbo or hydro way too much money even for the basic. Way too many gadgets that's a normal truck owner will probably never use. And these gadgets also increase the cost of ensuring these vehicles close to about $100 more a month which is ridiculous. Plus the dealer markups. What do the majority of Americans use a truck for? Work

So many hillbilly comments. 1) The Price of 2024's is nearly the same as the 2023's when you factor in the $3,000-$5,000 discounts off MSRP you can get for them. 2) Toyota has 40 years experience building durable turbo gas engines.

My neighbors Prius had the battery go out in 11 years, cost more to replace than the value of the car. Hybrid sucks if you want to keep it for a long time or buy used. Can’t beat the reliability of the Toyota V6, very proven engine. They had to recall the new Tundras as they all need new engines. Toyota went to crap and way overpriced. Call me a hillbilly……

Depends if you like the 2.8 liter turbo diesel of the Hilux. Torque is stronger than the V6 and fuel economy is doubled, but you have to deal with the DPF and EGR issues on the long run.
