I've heard some reasonable speculation that this was repurposed from the JLTF video game wave that was going to be a Target BAF this year, which may explain the arms. My recollection was that was Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and Flash. I believe that was AC1000 with the Collector's Edition mullet, Hush/3J with essentially the Year 2 parts in a video game blue and gray (similar to the Vs. Spawn), basic Aquaman with a mullet, and a Wally that probably would have honestly just been New 52 Barry in crimson and gold with white eyes. When that got scrapped, Darkseid was the big investment and he got a Super Powers color scheme and a cape. (Video game Darkseid was similarly not in a skirt.) I've talked to people who saw packaging samples of one figure. From what I understand, Target wasn't impressed. Crisis with Monitor was pitched as an alternative, trying to build off hype for the animated Crisis. And that was scrapped late enough that McFarlane said to do a small run anyway and build the tooling cost in. And in the end, Target didn't want any 2024 BAF wave in the style of Crime Syndicate or Flashpoint waves from prior years. But this was apparently an orphan of a first attempt at a BAF wave. The wave made it into foreign retailer computers and apparently retail buyers were given a packaging mockup.

When you go into a target for instance, you can show the barcode to an employee and they can scan directly off your phone to see if they have any in stock in the back/other stores have any.

The only reason that made me buy one its that i fear McFarlane loses his license before they release another Darkseid. And surely i will try to custom his belt and take off his cape and medallion from the chest.

Idk if I really am or not, but I'm like 99% sure that I'm not. But I still some how feel kinda responsible for this monstrosity! Lol, that's a little bit of an exaggeration. Because it's definitely not that bad(the figure). But let me explain why I said I may or may not be responsible. Ok, so about 2 maybe 3 or 4 years ago I was literally begging McFarland toys to do a classic Darkseid because all of the current or preorder Darkseid figures including(DC Multiverse Classics from Mattel) figures cost an arm and a leg! So I was literally going on to Instagram as well as other places I even emailed people who worked for or at McFarland toys. Like I wanted a classic Darkseid bad, like bad Bad! So I finally got someone to reply to one of my messages. And I'm paraphrasing here because I don't remember what I was told verbatim. But someone said thank you for being a customer, and requesting such and such blah blah. And the lady said that they will seriously look into a Classic Darkseid. Y'all may think I'm lying and that's ok with me y'all can believe whatever you like to believe. But I swear, as God is my witness that If I'm lying about any of this may he strike me down as I write this comment! Like I swear on everything that this is all the truth!!! But I was just told that they will consider my request and all that jazz. So, the figure came out about a year or two after I kept asking(begging). I know that my constant messages didn't really change anything, because it's Darkseid, they were going to do a classic figure regardless of what I ask. But now that the figure actually has come out and now I'm just kinda disappointed really. Because I did all that begging all that pleading only to be given a subpar figure with a cape! A cape that can't even come off, but some how the arms come off instead of said cape?! When has Darkseid really just known to run around in a freaking cape?! This guy doesn't even have any Omega Beam effects! He has little to no accessories, almost no real articulation amongst a plethora of other QC issues! I'm just all messed up about this figure because for one, I really wanted a classic Darkseid that I didn't have to pay over $100 because I told myself that I would never ever pay over a $100 for a basic(for the most part) figure. I'd honestly be ok with the cape, I'd be ok with the arms, I'd be ok with the limited articulation I swear I would if they only gave us some amazing Omega Beam effects accessories! That is literally one of the most character defining traits of Darkseid his Omega beams! But nope, you get a head with red glares and thats it. It would literally be so easy to just use some clear red plastic and just have it make some 90% angles. That's literally all you need smh lol. But ok I'm done I promise I am. I just feel really let down, doing all that begging for what, only to get this? And again, I know that I didn't influence the people over at McFarland's because again, it's Classic Darkseid he's inevitable! But I just feel bad for all the begging I did lmao. Ok ok, I'm done... for now.

Initially I❤this one. But after seeing reviews, I changed my mind. Lack of engineering on such a beautiful colored one. The chest should have been broken up, and mcfartlane should have used a soft overlay. Or a completely rubber torso. It's also too big.😛

This figure looks amazing, but MANNN it's definitely not fun to handle. The plastic feels so cheap, the joints are too stiff, I just feel like I'm gonna break it every time I touch it.

Well personally, I brought the Beast Kingdom Darkseid because I enjoy the way he looked. Beast Kingdom Darkseid looks better than this one that's being shown in this video. I stood my Kalibak Mega Fig side by side next to Beast Kingdom Darkseid and they were the same height. Plus I'm just not use to seeing Darkseid with a cape. I'm familiar with the old school Darkseid wearing a cape. But I prefer the new Darkseid instead. But who knows. Maybe Todd will make another Darkseid that's better than this one.

@rogerbaker4531 Same! I prefer BK to this one, too. Granted, you pay for Beast Kingdom, but it's just a better figure. This one is just . . . Not great. People keep giving McFarlane a pass on so much. Not me. I'm very picky when it comes to his figures. I like his Super Powers line, but the Multiverse stuff is lackluster. When Mattel had the license, I'd get most of them. McFarlane has saved me a ton of cash since he bought the license.

it's not QC. It's just some engineering mistake with the arms. They're gonna pop off too easy on every figure, its not a miss in quality control, that happens on certain figures. Its how it was engineered, it affects every single Darkseid

@@RandyWilson-v4i well, i took qc issue as something where its a mistake on a copy or another. This is not the case here. Its just how they engineered the figure. The factory didnt miss something.
