I'm lucky enough to have JM as my trainer. He killed me yesterday at the park with a back workout, as our gym is closed. Yes, sorry, bragging a bit here!

@@vikingstrongman5903 It was at a play ground and we found 3 areas to do wide grip lat pulls with my back to the ground, feet against his pulling up at an angle (he held my hands to the bar as my grip gave out pretty quickly). Same thing except narrow grip for another, and then pull ups. 3 super sets of those basically, with each exercise to failure. Also, didn't really go for reps, as opposed to finding various areas of the contraction that felt good and focusing on those with 2 inch shortened reps. It was tough, to say the least.

Could PLEASE do another video on the dumbell variation of the dumbell jm press??? I don't think a lot people know about this variation. I also would modify the name so it'll be easy to search for. My vote is either squeeze jm press or squeeze dumbell jm press. I just came across this video ramdomly watching tricep videos on KZbin. I've only did them the last 3 tricep workouts and I love them. If you make another video and rename them, people are going to love these when they find out about them.

I've been doing the JM Press wrong all this time. I've been doing the "roll" at the bottom, which brings the elbows up in line with the forearms, then pressing through. The bar would end at my throat, almost like a variation of skull crusher. Either way, I found it absolutely helped with my lockouts because my triceps and tendons got an extreme workout from this excercise. Much more than simple close-grip pressing.

I was doing them wrong as well, but they also helped me a lot. I do them both correctly and incorrectly now. Same goes with my RDL.

I try to keep my elbows higher when doing the jm press with a barbell but i feel like my elbows get beat up after a few weeks.Gotta change exercises often.

Straight bar looked too much like close grip, I feel like they were going too heavy. The dumbbell work looked much better.
@zeljko41894 жыл бұрын
@@christianbolt5761 it does look more like a close grip bench,i think JM himself said that elbows should not move down.I often see people do different versions of this lift.

I tried the JM Press just starting off with a 10kg bar. After about 3 Sets I executed the technique correctly. When coming up on a rep my elbow popped. My elbow is ok, but I’m 21 years old and wondering is this exercise worth doing if it has such a great injury risk?
