Good words Mike, I was long stagnant in the bench, and my squat wasn't moving up as fast as I had wanted. I recently started benching 4 days a week, and really increased my volume on my squatting; both are now shooting up faster than they have in a long time.

I really enjoy the way you put the videos together, having the talk while you do the squats etc. Explaining the workout. Keep the videos coming please! Much inspiration.

Mike. I really enjoy your context. no BS. just Businesses & Education. quick one - You do any accessories after your main lift? ab work, chin ups, dips etc..etc..

Yes, but also recovery is an ability the body has. And like any ability (strength, VO2 max, etc) it can be developed. If you require your body to recover and push it along in the right ways, you build work capacity, which is basically your ability to recover from big volumes.

How do you recover so fast from Deadlifts that you can do them twice or three times a week heavy? I've always assumed from other strength coaches that there is too much local and systemic stress once you get to appreciable loads.

Let it heal. Takes time for stuff like that to heal. Send me a message and let me know what the problem was with the questions. We'll get you registered.

i think is form is spot on, and so his recovery is faster than someone with a not as spot on form. Dan green talks about having a technical max, and an absolute max. technical max is when ur highest max with perfect form, and i'm pretty sure he works with his technical max and so his recovery is faster

Didn't you watch the video? He was doing a full body workout. Great advice by the way Mike
@Soccasteve11 жыл бұрын
Well that's because some workouts don't have a day off in between sessions. In another video he mentions he always pairs squat or dead movements with the bench press. Just check over his videos with commentaries I'm sure you'll find it.

Whats thoughts on the bulgarian method? I'm kinda using that philosophy with my training now. I do full body everyday with rest on weekends and deadlifts on Friday.

hey mike, first of all i would like to say i am a big fan of you. My question is in regard to overhead pressing and strongman. Have you ever trained any strongman? is there any big tips you can give towards increasing overhead strength. Thanks in advance

What is your take on measuring bar speed? What about Yielding Isometrics and/or extreme isometrics?
@michaeltuchscherer93222 жыл бұрын
I like using velocity. It's a really useful tool. Yielding isometrics are fine. I'm not familiar with extreme isometrics

@@michaeltuchscherer9322 "iso-extremes" is where for example in a push-up one "pulls" downward continuously instead of just "holding"

Mike, I have a question and would be greatly appreciative if you could answer. What exercises should I be doing to balance out all of the benching? Currently I do pull ups and face pulls but it still doesn't seem like enough as I'm anterior dominate. Should I be doing rotator cuff exercises? Band pull aparts? I want to make sure I can prevent a rotator cuff injury before it happens. Thanks for all you do, I am a huge fan and long time follower of your journey. Congrats on the move!

Can you explain how you peak for a meet and how your frequency changes when the intensity gets high? Or please give me a link or SOMETHING! I know the 5/3/1 that I'm doing right now will stop working in some time fom now and I want to do something more advanced next.
