Energizes you - I’m always surprised how I feel really tired, but then I have all the energy I need right after cold shower 3. Save time - I typically spend less than 2-4 minutes in shower 4. Cold showers saved my life. Everytime I feel suicidal or depressed I take a cold shower and all the dark thoughts dissapear. I feel great rest of the day and I sleep like a baby. Edit: I can answer some questions in the comment secton below. I've been depressed since I was 17, now I'm 32. My depression did not go away but cold showers gives me a 100 x better antidepressive effect than any pills. I've tried atleast 20 different medications and nothing really works. Why I feel suicidal is because i can't feel anything, I'm catatonic and the only way out is death in my mind. Instead of lying in the bed and feeling sorry for myself I ALWAYS promise myself to take a cold shower. Why? Because when that cold water pours over me and I can feel every cell in my body then I know I'm alive. The effect maybe only last 4 hours in worst case but it usually lasts the whole day. It's the best technique I've discoverd. Combined with the wim hof method it's a life saver. My showers last between 2-5 minutes, I live in an old house in Sweden so the showers during winter time are brutal.

Started to get up early every day and go to sleep at a fixed time. #11 it improves your discipline and self control! Just tackling one minor hurdle each day makes you feel successful and strong. I’ve practiced this for 2 years now, I’m the guy out all winter in a t shirt, every time someone thinks I’m nuts I hold their hand and every single time mine are FAR warmer than theirs in gloves and coats. Circulation improvements are significant. Also, I was completely asymptomatic to COVID when my kid brought it home from school. Also, cool water is much more gentle on your skin and hair, it doesn’t strip away the oils. Especially important in winter as we’re already very dry. These are all great points I’ve waited for this video so long, thanks again.

For the past month or so, we’ve been boiling water on the stove and showering the way my parents used to in Mexico when they were kids. But that cold shower just hit different and even when we do have hot water again, unless I absolutely need to, I personally don’t think I’ll be going back to hot showers. Now I understand why people in other countries are just so alert, and healthy overall.

I divide it up by doing thirty seconds on bad wrist, 30 seconds on feet and ankles, 30 seconds on knees, 30 seconds on bad shoulder, 30 seconds on face and eyes and then about a minute on rest of body. I have reduced my aches and pains by about 90 per cent from doing this routine. In the past I've always experienced a lot of pain after a hard workout. Now, when I do a hard workout it's like I didn't do the workout at all. The cold showers have been that effective in pain reduction.

Thanks Dr. Berg! I like to take a very hot bath first, and then a cold shower. The very hot bath makes you uncomfortable after a while, so taking a cold shower brings you relief and comfort, so you actually begin to associate cold exposure with comfort. The cold really is wonderful when you get past your natural fear of it. Your body also adapts (the hormetic effect), so it's not such a big deal after you've had some experience doing it regularly. @@Rosesraspberries72 Heat causes vasodilation, which is widening of the blood vessels. Your blood pressure might have been low due to hypovolemia, or dehydration. Drink more fluids to prevent that. Using a cold shower to cause vasoconstriction to get your blood pressure closer to normal may make you temporarily feel better but it's not a healthy way to treat that condition. The reason why is because what would happen if your body got hot again? You'd feel sick again and maybe even pass out. Get a blood pressure monitor at the pharmacy and check your blood pressure occasionally. Also see a doctor that knows or can take your medical history and make a proper diagnosis. Good luck, hope you feel well, stay healthy and safe. Happy Holidays!

As someone who very slowly got into cold showers (reluctant like many), they have since become a near daily thing for me the past few years and have been absolutely life changing. I will never be able to thank Wim enough for how much hes helped me. I started doing the WHM in Dec. 2021 and it has helped me so so so so much. Doing the breathing and the ice showers. My multiple sclerosis is no longer ruining my life, I have not had a sense of smell in decades and the past few weeks its starting to come back slowly and its not as fun as people make it out to be. Smelling mcdonalds for the first time was terrible. Wim posts his guided breathing for free on his page and goes through everything. 10M outa 10M recommend doing this method. Its nice to not have paralysis anymore.

With the C019 I saw a Doctor recommend this on a different level. He said to do 3 min Hot, 3 Min Cold, 3 Min Hot, 3 min Cold, then do 1 min Hot,1 min Cold. Fully on the Head, no skimping! This he said would activate the immune system to protect the body. He did it everyday after working in the E R all day. He also said it was very cleansing for the mind, emotions, and over all sense of well being psychologically.

I started doing cold showers one month ago. Started at 1 minute, now at 5. I love them! I feel mellow and energized at the same time. One thing not covered is the temperature of the "cold" water. It will differ based on time of year and your location. A cold shower in July in Alabama is a lot different than a cold shower in Minnesota in February. It's mid December here in New Jersey and the water is getting colder every day. I wonder how the cold water will feel to me when spring and summer arrive...will it be cold enough?
@tommysims41902 жыл бұрын
I'm in South Carolina and in the summer the water is not nearly cold enough.
@hristiyaniliev38632 жыл бұрын
I'm not from US, but I have the same issue when summer comes. And the solutions are: a freezer like the one Wim Hof using or a bath tube filled with water and ice. Wim Hof's advise to have at least 15 deg Celsius as a max temperature. It would be perfect to be 12-13 deg Celsius. Of course the best is to have from time to time a ice cold water temperature - about 2-3 to 5 deg Celsius.
@rayf79532 жыл бұрын
@@hristiyaniliev3863 It's fine having the water temperature to be "less cold" during summer. I think It's a more natural way to take showers. Like eating vegetables that are in season. We shower with water that is "in season"

After my husband and I moved into a new home, he fell and broke both his arms. I became his full time caregiver and left to do most of the work around our home. My stress levels were very elevated, unable to focus or sleep at night. Thankfully I came across Dr Berg’s cold shower video, I decided to try it out for 7 days. But after a week of doing this, I realized how much it’s been helping me, my anxiety levels have decreased, brain fog better, I sleep better at night. I will absolutely continue to do this and would recommend it to anybody that is struggling with these symptoms. T.C from South Africa.

This is interesting as I tend to occassionally have a bedroom window open in the winter as it helps me sleep and breathe better. The only times I close it is when the temperatures plunge to low or negative temperatures. Some of my friends and family think I am nuts but I believe it is actually healthy. It helps keep the energy of the space light, airy and fresh.

The way I do it is..... - get your daily cleanse regimen done first. Body Wash, Shampoo etc. - then slowly turn down the temp and breathe slowly for the remainder of the shower. The worst part of doing it the first couple of times is incorporating your daily cleanse routine into it.

Wim Hof is the man. I do his method everyday ( breathing in the morning and cold shower after my warm one ) I'll speak on personal changes I noticed, from the cold shower. Anxiety literally goes away, No exaggeration. I would get anxious going into the unknown or big events, now, I am so damn calm, It's like I'm a different person. Another thing, stamina. I was helping a friend move during the summer, when the heat wave first hit. 90+ all day, no clouds, started around 2PM, ended at 10PM. I only stopped once to drink water and kept moving, lifting, etc. After it was all done, I felt I could do it all over again. That was the first time I noticed the effect of the cold showers. Now, you will hate it, we all do. That initial first time you will be scared and do little by little, with your foot, then your leg, etc. That's what I did. Then I did my back one day and could barely stay in without shaking so much then jumping out. After the 4th day, I got so pissed off and say THIS IS WATER YOU BITCH. Then I pushed my whole backside into it and stayed for 10 sec and DID IT. That gave me the confidence to keep at it. Once I got my back used to it, then I did the front ( front is harder ) and now, I do it everyday. Even though you get used to the cold, you still will have it in your head "Ah man do i really want to do this..." and you do it anyway, that gives you the power over your mind, and you become who you were meant to be...a F-IN BEAT IN CONTROL.

The peace you feel in you mind after taking cold shower is unparallel. Certainly helps elevate mood, concentration, positivity in life. Easily doable in countries like India where I live. It is really interesting to see how just a cold water exposure has impact on how you feel throughout the day. Our body is strange chemical reactor and even our thoughts, mind are one of the effects of the chemicals. Cold shower seemed to have a similar effect as that I felt when I used to take multivitamin pills. I can literally feel the warm blood rushing through the body. A very good learning from 2021 for me.
