9:00 Key takeaways
10:22 Thanks for watching
In this video, we’re going to talk about cryotherapy, also known as cold therapy-and what happens to you after 14 days of taking cold showers.
Take a look at these ten incredible benefits of taking cold showers.
1. Enhances immune system function
• Increases monocytes
• Increases Lymphocytes
• Increases T-helper cells
• Increases T-suppressor cells
2. Promotes noradrenaline
• Increases mood
• Supports alertness
• Helps reduce the risk of depression
• Improves focus
3. Supports weight loss by triggering brown fat
• Increases metabolism
• Increases Energy
• Decreases weight
• 100g of brown fat can burn 3400 calories per day
4. Increases insulin sensitivity
5. Reduces inflammation
6. Boosts antioxidants
7. Has neuroprotective effects
8. Improves longevity and promotes autophagy
9. Lowers cortisol
10. Supports fast recovery
How to ease yourself into taking cold showers:
1. Start with your normal hot shower
2. Turn it to cold for 30 seconds
3. Turn it back to hot
4. Gradually increase the time you set it to cold until you can reach 5-10 minutes
Interestingly, cold temperatures can warm up your core temperatures, while hot temperatures can cool down your core temperature.
Try taking cold showers for 14 days and see if you experience some of these amazing health benefits.

I started taking cold daily shower a week ago. It benefited me in the following ways: 1. WillPower - Forcing yourself something you don’t want to do increases your mental strength 2. Energizes you - I’m always surprised how I feel really tired, but then I have all the energy I need right after cold shower 3. Save time - I typically spend less than 2-4 minutes in shower 4. Save energy - no need to run bathroom fan because there is no steam 5. Bathroom mirror won’t fog

I have been taking cold showers every evening since March 14th. The first two times, my immune system was triggered, and I had that feeling you get before catching a cold, but I did not become sick. After that, the feeling went away. Cold showers help clear your mind of anxiety and stress, and you feel amazing afterwards - crystal clear. Although I still feel uncomfortable on some days, I continue to do it consistently because I know I will feel better afterwards.

Cold showers saved my life. Everytime I feel suicidal or depressed I take a cold shower and all the dark thoughts dissapear. I feel great rest of the day and I sleep like a baby. Edit: I can answer some questions in the comment secton below. I've been depressed since I was 17, now I'm 32. My depression did not go away but cold showers gives me a 100 x better antidepressive effect than any pills. I've tried atleast 20 different medications and nothing really works. Why I feel suicidal is because i can't feel anything, I'm catatonic and the only way out is death in my mind. Instead of lying in the bed and feeling sorry for myself I ALWAYS promise myself to take a cold shower. Why? Because when that cold water pours over me and I can feel every cell in my body then I know I'm alive. The effect maybe only last 4 hours in worst case but it usually lasts the whole day. It's the best technique I've discoverd. Combined with the wim hof method it's a life saver. My showers last between 2-5 minutes, I live in an old house in Sweden so the showers during winter time are brutal.

Before I became a mom, my husband and I were young and starting off rough. We couldn't afford electricity or heat. I took cold showers every single day for about 6 months. I remember during the winter I would step out of my freezing shower feeling like needles poking me in the legs. Don't recall getting use to it, just remember thinking "Do what you gotta do"... We finally got back on our feet. However, one thing I also noticed was how gorgeous my hair was. I mean shiny, volume. It was just healthy looking.. Cold showers are rough, especially during winter time when you have no heat or electricity, but cold showers do wonder to your hair! 🙂

A ton of my insulin resistance went away! I really enjoy Hormetic effect Therapy now 😃.

For those hyper sensitive people, I took an extremely slow approach. The first day I would just do my hands, the next day my arms, etc. I would only add what I could stand. The thing is, your body adapts over time so the body part that was sensitive today will become less sensitive tomorrow and over time my whole body was able to take the shock of the cold without any problem at all.

I'm very hypersensitive to touch and sound. I can attest to the building up of strength. I've been taking cold showers for about two almost three months and I started with dry brushing first and then I started jumping in a cold shower afterwards and it's tough, no doubt. I have to remind myself that the cold shower is literally the hardest thing I have to do because after that EVERYTHING feels manageable. I started noticing myself leaning into it more, noticably more because I take a lot longer cold showers than I used to and for the first time I actually washed my hair in the cold shower (I have a lot of hair). I still struggle to do it especially because I started in winter weather but practicing in winter will make it all the more enjoyable and rewarding come summer time. Next winter I hope to be able to do the cold immersion in a local river or lake. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to do it at least once this winter... 💁

It’s wonderful to hear you discuss the cold showers and cold exposer. My long-term exposure to cold showers made me believe in thermogenesis. I’m 59 years old, and a former college professor encouraged me to take cold showers to prevent sinus and flu episodes when I was 21. I gave it a go, starting with hot showers and working my way up to the cold exposure-no more hot baths after that. As a result, I had fewer cold episodes in forty years and no other health problems. I had more energy and focus, better and smoother skin, and fewer sports-related injuries. You will not be sorry if you give it a shot. Greetings from Brazil.

I almost never get sick, my mild allergies are literally gone, my anxiety and brain fog (especially during the pandemic here) are 100x easier to manage and a cold shower is way more potent than caffeine for focus for me with no crash. I am less sore after workouts as I recover faster, and my 50 pound weight loss is probably much more due to healthy diet changes so it's anecdotal, but didnt hurt! I started doing cold showers one month ago. Started at 1 minute, now at 5. I love them! I feel mellow and energized at the same time. One thing not covered is the temperature of the "cold" water. It will differ based on time of year and your location. A cold shower in July in Alabama is a lot different than a cold shower in Minnesota in February. It's mid December here in New Jersey and the water is getting colder every day. I wonder how the cold water will feel to me when spring and summer arrive...will it be cold enough?

I'm not from US, but I have the same issue when summer comes. And the solutions are: a freezer like the one Wim Hof using or a bath tube filled with water and ice. Wim Hof's advise to have at least 15 deg Celsius as a max temperature. It would be perfect to be 12-13 deg Celsius. Of course the best is to have from time to time a ice cold water temperature - about 2-3 to 5 deg Celsius.

This is something the ancient Romans understood and embraced. Many of you already know this, but their public bath houses had separated temperature pools (baths): the caldarium (hot), the tepidarium (warm), and the frigidarium (cold), much like the baths Dr. Berg tried on his vacation. It was a part of the daily life of a Roman citizen. I think that is so cool! Literally!😀

My multiple sclerosis is no longer ruining my life, I have not had a sense of smell in decades and the past few weeks its starting to come back slowly and its not as fun as people make it out to be. Smelling mcdonalds for the first time was terrible. Wim posts his guided breathing for free on his page and goes through everything. 10M outa 10M recommend doing this method. I’ve only taken cold showers after a hard workout. But yesterday I tried a wake up shower because I had no option since our boiler is out. And it woke me up more than any amount of coffee ever could. For the past month or so, we’ve been boiling water on the stove and showering the way my parents used to in Mexico when they were kids. But that cold shower just hit different and even when we do have hot water again, unless I absolutely need to, I personally don’t think I’ll be going back to hot showers. Now I understand why people in other countries are just so alert, and healthy overall.

I started taking cold showers after reading the Wim Hof book last October. Never got on with the breathing, but i absolutely stuck with the cold showers. I am a different man now. Truly. So many changes started happening after a few months of cold showers. Stopped smoking and drugs after more than 15 years of massive use, my skin conditions went away, almost no dandruff anymore. better sleep. i don't really mind cold weather anymore. Started to get up early every day and go to sleep at a fixed time. I am sure it's not because of the cold showers, but because of the new mindset to start the day with something truly uncomfortable, feeling so much better after it. Might start with the breathing again now that my lungs start to work better :) Am dreaming of cold baths sometimes, but that's not an option currently.

Wim Hof is the man. I do his method everyday ( breathing in the morning and cold shower after my warm one ) I'll speak on personal changes I noticed, from the cold shower. Anxiety literally goes away, No exaggeration. I would get anxious going into the unknown or big events, now, I am so damn calm, It's like I'm a different person. Another thing, stamina. I was helping a friend move during the summer, when the heat wave first hit. 90+ all day, no clouds, started around 2PM, ended at 10PM. I only stopped once to drink water and kept moving, lifting, etc. After it was all done, I felt I could do it all over again. That was the first time I noticed the effect of the cold showers. Now, you will hate it, we all do. That initial first time you will be scared and do little by little, with your foot, then your leg, etc. That's what I did. Then I did my back one day and could barely stay in without shaking so much then jumping out. After the 4th day, I got so pissed off and say THIS IS WATER YOU BITCH. Then I pushed my whole backside into it and stayed for 10 sec and DID IT. That gave me the confidence to keep at it. Once I got my back used to it, then I did the front ( front is harder ) and now, I do it everyday. Even though you get used to the cold, you still will have it in your head "Ah man do i really want to do this..." and you do it anyway, that gives you the power over your mind, and you become who you were meant to be...a F-IN BEAT IN CONTROL.
