Facts: Leather outfit is the same one Elvis wore during his special, Red guitar is the same one used during the special, the piano player is wearing the red jumper the band wore and the piano player is Angelina's mentor / record label CEO.. The two young girls are her cousins and the 3rd older girl is her sister. Also, the hairdo is the same beehive Priscilla Presley wore.

Great reaction. I am privileged to be one of the first commenters. A couple of points that might be helpful. Ironically, given your comments about tribute acts, this is a bit of a tribute act, but in a good way. Not Amy Winehouse hair, she did not invent the beehive; Priscilla Presley hair, with Elvis’s outfit from the ‘68 Comeback Special. And his guitar from the same show. And the pianist is wearing the same outfit as his band from the same show. She literally blows the dust (did you see it fly off the piano’s dust sheet?) off an old classic.

She is only 16, so her progression is still on an upward curve, maybe for another 10 years?! You’re right that, she has grown a LOT in the last 2 years. She has also been under the mentoring of Rob Christie (the pianist here and 2x Grammy award), studio director of Republic Records in LA. Being their high priority new artist, she has had every facility laid at her feet, and she has taken full advantage of it all. They are letting her go where she wants to, they know they have a phenomenal artist on their books. Like with Mother .. that opening line sent goosebumps up many an arm! @@103mrg Rob Christie posted on his Instagram that it is his guitar. I don't think he indicated that it was the same one Elvis used. But, he also posted comparison photos of his guitar and the one Elvis used (borrowed) and they sure seem to exactly match.

Allsang på Grensen 2022 in Norway. Angie’s 16 here. Love all of Angie's nods to Elvis, also his wife Priscilla & daughter Lisa Marie & Angie growing up too. Angie really out did herself on this one. She put in a lot of Elvis references, really amazing the respect & homage she paid to Elvis. Angie really blew this one away. I love what she did with this story This was filmed in the same place that she did “My funny valentine” at Melrose Gallery and Antiques in West Hollywood CA. There's a picture of (age about 1-2) baby Lisa Marie Presley on a golden couch like Angie's cousin sat on with a white dress. There was one of Lisa also (when she’s about 3) with white dress & she had curls like Angie’s other cousin Athena had (from her uncle Michael's kids). Plus it acted as a double for us watching Angie growing up. Her sister Juilette was the older one in the white dress like Angie was in, when she was 10-12 before she changed at 13 & her, her mom Sara & grandma Mery made clothes for her performances. (Angie made it modern & nostalgic at the same time. She’s emotes the story, for she is a true master story teller) The black jumpsuit & red guitar is for the welcome back tour in 1968. The hair was for Priscilla his wife, also Angie sitting on the couch. Chandeliers, mirrors & furniture was for Graceland, the Piano player Rob Christie wearing red like Elvis band members & you'll even see that Angie's (Elvis stance) put her leg out & bent like Elvis did. Angelina did a lot of homework & paid a lot of respect & gave us a lot of Easter eggs & there’s still more. As she usually does on her videos. Angelina is just amazing, beyond words & other singers/writers/artists/people. {She's Angelina Jordan Astar} The barefoot Angel with a 1000 voices. Yes, I have a recommendation. That the both of you appear more often with reactions to Angelina. I also have a request. How about a tour of your beautiful home? We love you guys very much but there is a mystery about you, who you are and unless you don't want to get closer to us we would like to know more about you. Yes? No? Without scrolling through all the comments, I'm sure others have mentioned (but if not) that the hairstyle was in honor of Priscilla Presley, Elvis's wife when this was recorded by him. Amy Winehouse wouldn't be born until 15 years later. I don't know how this reaction escaped from being in my recommendations until now, but my eyes lit up and I got a huge smile when I saw it. I have heard Elvis's version many times but never actually heard the words and the meaning until Angelina did her interpretation. Just 16 years old, and in my opinion, already a star,

Angie said she wrote it about LOVE itself and not about being in love but her talking to LOVE itself. Deep lyrics for a 17 yr old. Her album will be released between June and Fall of 2023.

Yes Angelina is growing up - she brings out the meaning of the song like no other. She does indeed make it appear to be her own song. She has so much respect for Elvis, the outfit and the guitar, so well accompanied by Rob Christie (Republic Records Director) on Piano. Very well produced video, her Grandma was the producer - perhaps that why all four of her grandchildren were included! Angelina is currently giving live outdoor concerts in Norway, I hope that later she will give some concerts in London. Of course, all this needs to fit in with the school holidays - she is still only 16. I can't even begin to imagine what she will be like when she is 18 or 21...

I've listened to Angelina's rendition probably ten times. I just can't get enough of her artistry. At the beginning of the video---prefaced by the hollow echo of her bootsteps---it's like she is physically stepping back in time when she removes the sheets from the old chair and mirror. More so when the dusty sheet is removed from the old, beat-up piano. Coupled with her 60s retro Priscilla hairdo, black leather Elvis outfit, and cherry red electric guitar---all are reminiscent of a more innocent, bygone era. I can think of no other vocalist than Angelina Jordan who has the artistry to present such a hauntingly beautiful interpretation of Suspicious Minds.

Ladies so nice to see both of you reacting to Angelina's interpretation of Elvis Presley's song "Suspicious Minds". By slowing the temple down, the lyrics tell the story better than the original faster temple song. The use of symbolism from Elvis's leather jumpsuit and red guitar used in his come-back concert in 1968, to Priscilla's beehive hairdo. Once again Angelina Jordan has shown her brilliant storytelling in song!

What a rendition! Her Grandma Mery produced this. Looks like she used the same store she used for her My Funny Valentine video! Her sister Juliette was the older girl. The 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, and, 2- time Grammy winner Rob Christie on piano. What a great cover! The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. She had the red guitar and the black outfit…one of Elvis famous looks! I was not expecting this! She's wearing a black leather outfit in homage to Elvis. The hair is for Priscilla Presley, since the song is about relationship. The guitar is the same guitar Elvis used in his iconic 2968 tour. I wish you'd watch it again with us. Grandma Mery produced it. The first two children are her little cousins and the third one was her sister Juliette, now looking all grown up and beautiful. OMG, how can you not have heard any of Angelina's Amy Winehouse covers yet??🙂 She has sung 6 songs either written by or notably covered by Amy: "Our Day Will Come" (a cover), "Back to Black", "Valerie" (techncally a cover by Mark Ronson, featuring Amy on vocals), "Rehab", "I'm No Good", and "Tears Dry on Their Own". Angelina first sang "Our Day Will Come" when she was 8 (AFAIK), but the most well known version is from her 2019 concert at Prøysenhuset when she was 13 (found on Boris Palenovski's channel). She famously recorded a completely rewritten version of "Back to Black" (with lyrics written by her in one day) with musicians from the orchestra known as KORK when she was 10 (found on her Official channel). She recorded a music video for "Valerie" on Venice Beach when she was 12 (found on her CoverChannel). She sang a partially rewritten version of "Rehab" (changed to be about going to school) also when she was 12 (a popular "slideshow video" for which was posted by Yozhik v Tumane, using audio from a live 2018 performance in Kongsberg). Around the same time, she was rehearsing a partially rewritten version of "I'm No Good", which she turned into "I'm So Good" (I don't think we have a non-rehearsal version of that one - the rehearsal video is found on her Fanclub Mosarz channel). And finally, last year (at 15) she uploaded a very short TikTok of "Tears Dry on Their Own" (that one you might have to go to TikTok to find). For the record, she just recently (literally hours ago, on 2022-07-01) sang "Valerie" live at Kurbadhagen in Sandefjord (posted by Kathrine Angeltveit), in a concert that was originally scheduled for last year but had to be canceled. But my favorite version of that song is one she did at a jazz festival in 2018, using a novel drumless arrangement that she seems to have only used that one time. There is video from the rehearsal and from the actual concert - they sound very similar (excellent performance, but not great sound quality), but the visuals are much better in the rehearsal video. So glad to see you back!! It is a wonderful video and performance:-) The visuals are gorgeous: she uncovers beautiful pieces from the past an her cousins and sister give a nice sense of time passing. Beautiful Elvis imagery as well rhinestone boots, the mic, the costumes, the guitar and Priscilla beehive. She really makes me feel the sad story where suspicion and distrust kills love. Elvis amazing performance always had me doubt he was really bothered being caught in a trap and such :-)

Angelina's interpretation of the lyrics to" Suspicious Minds" is Priscilla telling a story of uncertainty between them. KThis is an Elvis tribute and that is young Priscilla hair the way Elvis liked it. The leather suit and red guitar are from his comeback concert in '68. She slowed down the song because that is the way she heard it in her head. The songwriter Mark James never liked what Elvis did with the song. So I think Angelina slowed it way down. Then near the end you hear the rockabilly guitar work come in a real nod to Elvis who made that sound a standard in his music. So think Elvis not Amy for this video. Ladies, if you do not have any problems with the possibility of talent coming out of Wales, I would love it if you gave a listen to 15 year old Gracie-Jayne Fitzgerald. This is a 'Live" performance of Jimmy Cliff's Blues number, 'Many Rivers To Cross'. This young lady first stole my heart with her blind audition on The Voice Kids U.K. in 2019. She sang, 'Golden Slumbers' by the Beatles. Gracie was 12 at that time and had only been singing for 17 months. I am going to give you both links. I could not find the individual link for Golden Slumbers so I gave you the compilation of all her performances. 'Golden Slumbers' is first so you could just listen to that and not listen to her other performances. All of them are 9:47 seconds long with G.S. being 2:15 seconds long. So you are only giving another 6-7 minutes to hear a future superstar. You will notice Jessie J is one of the Coaches/Judges she said of Gracie after she sang "Feeling Good' that she is a force to be reckoned with, and that Gracie was becoming one of her favorite singers. That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. My tribute to Ms. Zamani is in the sense that she worked, taught, stimulated, corrected the main artist, who we know greatly influences the entire work of a video and its characteristics. I don't exclude or diminish Mr McCarthy and his responsibility for the success of the work, I just honor someone who has creative and existential influence on at least 4 people in the video.
