Trevor Noah became host of "The Daily Show" right as the 2016 election campaign began to take off. Nearly a week after Donald Trump's victory, the comedian is not shy about how he is coping with the results. Noah joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss his new book, "Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood," and the election results.

It's not Donald Trump's fault he was born a crime. If anything Hillary hasn't made it not a crime in 30 years of politics. Trevor is more racist than any one on TV today, implying black people don't get nominated when they are often nominated. Blacks are a minority so they are a smaller %of us population so in turn would have a smaller % of nomination. which in reality is higher % than the population %. This over popular racist is always pushing racism agenda in America.

***** not racism blacks just perform better. Can't win an award in a sport when you ain't putting up numbers. Blacks break records perform better it is what it is. In movies we might get nominated but we don't win when clearly some movies are better than others.

He makes a very important point. One of the "Portland Rioters" was interviewed and said a bunch of parroty stuff that we've been listening to since the "election". Then this person admitted that she didn't vote. I feel the same way about Paul Ryan. Now that Trump was elected, he's playing with Trump balls and sucking up like Chris Christie. The whole pile of shit makes me want to puke. Even if you add an additional 60 million votes for the undecided and/or don't feel like voting, the total of approximately 180 million people is only 50% of our population. Pathetic. Even more so when the post-election conversation is all "he said/she said" "and/if/but/in hindsight". I'm going to sit back and enjoy the next 4 years and watch total fucking idiots try to make decisions while the rest of the world burns up.

John Milton 330million peeps, about a quarter of that are too young to vote (children). (82.5 million odd). 247 million eligible to vote. 118 odd did. leaves 129 that haven't voted. Of that around 59 million voted for Trump. So about 47% (eligible) of America voted. South Africa sits around 61% (for comparison) I'm unsure if that's representative of the world, but South Africa is definitely not as developed as America and they get near 15% more of their population to vote. And like 80% of south Africa's population lives in undeveloped settlements, so that's quite a feat and really casts a bad light on America since you wonder what the other 129 million people's excuses were. If people who live miles from the nearest city (with no cars) can get off their asses and vote.

Ok, let me correct Trevor on his math real quick. First of all, he said that "Most of America doesn't feel the need to vote". I'm not sure that he realizes that not everyone can vote. The entire U.S. population is approximately 325 million, however, the Voting Age Population (people actually of legal age to vote), is only around 251 million. Then you have to shave a few million more people off that list, because some adults are not legally allowed to vote either, such as prisoners and those whom are on parole/probation (unless they've been out for 2 or more years). That would then give you the Voting Eligible Population, which again, is at least a couple million less people than the VAP population, but let's just stick with 251 million to give the benefit of doubt. Anyhow, so far, some 128 million people have voted in this election (for either Trump, Hillary, Gary Johnson and otherwise), and there's still millions of ballots to count. Even so, 128 million is 51% of the entire VAP, so it in fact can't be said that "Most people" didn't vote, when over half of the eligible population did. Concerning his "19%" comment, he's once again doing a percentage of the ENTIRE population of the U.S. (61 million Trump votes is 19% of our 320 million population), but it's absurd to count a portion of the population (in which some are babies/toddlers), when making a statement on what the American people want. A more accurate estimate would be to find out what percentage of people voted for Trump out of the 251 million people who can actually vote, which is over 24% (almost 1/4 of all eligible voters). I will concede that nearly half of all eligible people didn't vote, but that's most likely because people are tired of their votes not counting because of this stupid electoral college bullshit (and this is why Hillary got more votes and yet still lost).

Math all you want, half of eligible Americans still didn't vote as you said, that doesn't change the fact 100 million people didn't vote. That's still a significant amount of people who know how things would have gone if only 25 million more people voted. if that was your main take away or gripe that's a pretty petty and insignificant one at that.

The US Elections Project estimates that 131.7 million Americans cast a ballot in 2016, out of 231 million eligible voters - a turnout rate of 56.9 percent. This is still just a preliminary estimate, and states are still finalizing tallies, so check back for updates. But if those numbers hold, that’s a slightly lower turnout rate than 2012.

I stopped watching the Daily Show because of their lack of coverage on Bernie Sanders. They REFUSED to talk about him, and when they couldn't ignore him any longer because of his massive following they specifically told their voterbase to pick Hillary. You can watch the endorsement on their channel. Disgusting. This was back before the primaries when they actually could've helped. Instead they acted like the DNC and put forward this loser, and now he whines about Trump. Part of the problem

50% of America didn't vote likely bc they couldn't make it in time. 12 states don't do early voting, some people work multiple jobs or long shifts, etc. I know the reason voting on Tuesday was started but, much like Daylight savings time, it's no longer needed. Voting really needs to be made a national holiday or moved to the weekend. Once that happens the numbers would likely go up

Its strange why ppl are doing nothing but post negative and hateful comments. racism is completely ignorant. look it up. there is not race. there is one race. the human race. the things that make us different are obviously our surroundings. like how do ppl miss that? seriously. Its strictly common sense.
