I actually love that her voice sounds so different. When she first recorded this song, the pain was fresh and still ever present. She had a lot of emotions pouring out of her when she sang this song and now it’s been so long since they broke up that she’s been able to heal. She sounds more relaxed because it isn’t as painful to relive all of the hurt. I think it’s perfect and intentional.

The lyrics haven’t been changed, there’s just lyrics that have been added- she mentioned when the song first came out in 2012 that the song had originally been something like 10 minutes long before she cut it down for the album. So for years, fans have been clamoring to hear the original lyrics, and for the re-recorded album she decided to record and include it.
