In this video I show how I set up an easy five rod trolling spread for Mahi Mahi. I have a small 19' boat with no outriggers. Using outrodders and spacing my rods correctly I'm able to effectively troll five rods. A shotgun way back using a blue and white ilander lure over a Ballyhoo, two out wide on the outrodders using jet heads over Ballyhoo, a Rapala 30 deep diving plug, and a Zuker lure on the flat line placed right behind my umbrella rig with holographic teasers. We troll and catch a nice bag of fish including the targeted Mahi Mahi. After trolling we stop for Mutton Snapper but the Sharks and Barricudas give us a hard time. We finally land a nice size Mutton Snapper to complete a solid mixed bag of fish. For the Mutton Snapper we used long Florocarbon leaders with circle hooks. The bait of choice was butterflied Ballyhoo and Bonito belly strips.
Gear used Gear used was Shimano TLD 25's on Ocean master trolling rods. Shimano TLD 50 2 speed on a customer rod at the shotgun, Shimano Speedmaster on a Star Paraflex rod, and a Shimano Talica on a Star Paraflex rod.
