+ T-ROY A good indicator of when fried meats are cooked through is when they float (provided that the oil is deep enough to float them in). For fried chicken like what you did, I have good luck with around twenty-one minutes at 350 degrees. Don't forget to do some fries, onion rings, breaded mushrooms, or hushpuppies for a side dish too.
@TROYCOOKS7 жыл бұрын
Yep, if it's floating it's done. Great tip there bro!!! And you might as well fry up some sides while the oil is still hot. Good stuff!!! Thanks for watching!!!

That looks great! Although up here in south central Illinois (Effingham) not as much of the hot spices. One thing that I have found that is just spectacular, is I can buy the chicken already pressure marinated in a butter salt marinade. I then add spices like you do in the buttermilk and the flour. Now also in the flour, I will put a few tablespoons of my buttermilk and stir until it looks crumbly. It adds another depth of flavor and crunchiness to the finished product.After I double coat the chicken, I put it in the fridge until the coating is dry but yet wet. Then I deep fry in either Lard or Peanut oil.
@TROYCOOKS9 жыл бұрын
Hi Harry, I've heard of people sprinkling water in with the flour to get a crunchy coating, but haven't heard of doing that with buttermilk. I'll give it a try next time! Thanks for the suggestion and tips!

Try using Tony Cacheried spice it will definitely kick it up a knotch!!! I add it to the egg and milk mixture as well as the flower mixture. Works good on fried fish and shrimp as well. Great utube presentation. Keep up good work. P.S from a native Texans😋

Hi Sherry, thanks for the tips. I actually grew up in Baton Rouge, so I was raised on Tony's Cajun blend. It's a tad bit too salty for me, so I like to use Slap Yo Mama nowadays unless I make up my own seasoning blend. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for watching! Cheers, Troy
