I have watched several ramp starts, but I have to say that this ramp start demo is the best. Not too much "swinging the camera around", but taking time for each action and adding some explanation. Looking forward to see more "instruction" movies!

Great video man! Have you tried DCS viper yet? If yes how you compare those two platforms in terms of Flight Model?

That’s a good question. I’ve tried DCS Viper late last year when it released. I didn’t find the FM that much different than what I am use to compare to BMS.

Ever since I got my Winwing throttle and joystick, I've found that DCS has many more options than BMS for mapping (e.g. some 3-way switches only have "toggle" mappings, so the switch position won't always do what it's supposed to). Any suggestions on where I can go to get some information on mapping those controls and switches better? I want to trick out my BMS as much as DCS so that I can fly BMS just as immersively. Thanks.
@RainmanHST Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean exactly. The only issue with the TQS is the dogfight switch cancel but that is fixed by selecting that in the CFG so you can cancel out of that mode and back to NAV.
@RainmanHST Жыл бұрын
@@MikeSwanberg no not at all. BMS has literally every cockpit switch position as well as toggle. The problem is you are using the wrong key file. Look for “Blank” or “Full”. And those two files will have every possibly switch position you can think of. I use all those for my cockpit as I need qll switch positions instead of toggles.

The Viper Simmer I am really enjoying your vids! I am having a midlife crisis myself and building another sim pit. I made one 20+ years ago. Right now I’m trying to get my sim pit roughed in before our Canadian winter starts. I was wondering if I could get a couple measurements and and some details answers from you? I tried to get info off the internet but it is difficult and these are couple items that are giving me difficulty in making it come together. I am wondering what is the angle of the main dash frame tilt back? Is the ICP/HUD box is it tilted back the same angle as the dash? What is the distance the ICP box stick out from the dash (on the top and bottom). ( I bought an ICP from viper gear want to make the box as realistic and scaled properly) Lastly do you know the width of the tub where the seat is locate? (Distance between the left and right counsel) Thanks in advance. Keep making the videos. I see your fan base is getting larger!

@RainmanHST2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yes I built this simulator myself using an old F16 familiarization trainer from the 1980s and rebuilt it with all F16 parts that I collected all over the world in the last 7 years. To date I have spent a little over $120,000 on it. If you look through my channel you will find detailed videos on the simulator build.
@ghislainnoel68083 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on the pit and on the video! You know your stuff ! I wonder, do you fly with a virtual squadron? Me, I fly with the Belgian Virtual Tigers (BVT). It is our main focus to fly and simulate the Belgian F-16A MLU to the best of our possibilities. Therefore we aim to simulate real life procedures and tactics as per the Belgian regulations. It's no surprise much of your rampstart is the same as the one we use (apart of some negligible differences in sequence and off course due to the differences between MLU and Block50) However, if you permit me to give a few suggestions: (1) If you set your AA Tacan to your wingman/element lead you get a permanent readout to his distance to you in the DED. (2) I also set the Scales Switch on HUD panel to VV/VAH. This way a little bank scale appears on the HUD tied to the FPM which is handy when performing shallow turns (Especially handy when performing a turn during AAR) Hope this doesn't sound too impertinent. Kind regards. "Doc" aka BVT_21
@RainmanHST3 жыл бұрын
Hey there thanks for the message. I normally keep my TACAN open or I use it to track that flights in the packages for the push point. As for HUD I prefer to keep it a little decluttered as I don’t need that info unless I am trying to do some real precision flying.

Whats funny is now civilian sims are better than military sims, have better graphics, less maintenance, doesn’t need a mission trainer station to add scenarios, multiplayer, and civilian sums have real hardware sometimes, while military sims don’t. Id say military sims are like 15 years behind and is because they. Rely on companies who make the plane for the software, while there is better software, for free. The military needs to step it up. Lol
