I totally get it. Maintaining a life balance is so important. Stress can cause more health problems. I live my life the same way. I easily get overwhelmed so I have to work on keeping stress down.

Idea on the deck. Adjustable jack stand mounted to the door on the corner. Just need to put a base plate so the stands do not just sink into the ground.

Go to harbor freight and get 2 trailer tongue Jack's that swing down and bolt them to the ramp. When you lower it swing them down and adjust where needed

I have an idea for the deck. Why not use something like the folding legs on a sofa-sleeper on the very edge...without the automatic folding part? Just manually fold them out when you need them, fold them away when you don't. Some angle iron (with hinges) will be sturdy enough to do the trick!

I was looking into that. the challenge is my distance changes so much. currently I need about 4 or 5 inches lift whereas at my last camp in the video it was almost 30 inches

Thank you for sharing your day with us. It's really great seeing what your typical day is like. On leveling, I was thinking comealongs, or even winch for your design. Another thought would be to mod hydraulic jacks like some do to their rvs. Love the way your home is coming along.

Hey Seven, my suggestion for the deck would be to bolt 3 hinges to the back of the tailgate, then attach 3 pieces of angle iron legs on the corners and middle (the kind with predrilled holes) then three more pieces to adjust for length at location, bolt in place. Maybe even have the 3 bottom halves with a flat metal square for "feet" welded on. The weight would only be a few pounds and just fold up and secure in place when driving.

it is a bit bouncy. most likely will look for a better long term solution

@@SevenWanderstheWorld You may have better luck with a 3/8 steel cable. Double clamp hooks on the ends and turnbuckles to adjust slack. You're always going to have a stretch issue and some bounce because of the length and spans. A solid ground support is the only way you're going to get solid support. A couple jackstands and 4x4 between them with a solid platform on the ground so the stands don't sink into the dirt. A couple shims to level it out between jackstand adjustment heights. Good luck... The jackstands would serve a double purpose if you need to work under the truck or trailer.

I enjoy watching folks do their odds and ends. It gives me a reason to get off the couch and get some things done. After 40 years of being a server technician I don't think I would even help friends I'm retired and don't want to think computers, I just use my computer for crafts like making stickers, mugs and tumblers, all pretty easy. It's good you're keeping your skills up. Are you going to visit your sister in Forest Grove this year? I enjoy seeing my old stomping grounds. But it has changed so much since I lived there. great question. the ratchet straps are experimental. not sure what my final solution will be... perhaps some combo of cable suspension and leg support underneath depending on my situation
