Hello pan i have a question about polishing filled stone chips. I bought some touch up paint to fill some stone chips in an aston martin. I put many layers so the chips are bulges of paint so after i sand them till p3000 they are perfectly flat with the paintwork of the car. Then i polish 3000grid sanded area witn my rupes nano ibrid with da coarse blue 30mm pad and rupes blue compound. After polishing the filled stone chip is still painted but its not perfectly leveled with the paintwork anymore. And as a perfectionist this makes me crazy, i them filled the stonechip again and sanded flat again, did everything again and kept the filled area a little higher than the paintwork. Then polished again but even that made the filled area be lower than the cars paint again. What can i do about this. Would i mix some clearcoat in the touchup paint to make it harder? Would that prevent the filled chip area from lowering after polishing? Thank you very much

Bear in mind that although using a blower might be easy to dry, if it's not wiped off it will leave minerals behind that will end up masking coatings. In your case I know you use special water but not everybody has that system.. thanks for the video ❤

Watched this video a couple of weeks ago, was impressed and ordered the two bottles. I will be applying both this evening on my just washed vehicle. You make no reference to glass, that said my glass and windshield are ceramic protected so guess what.....I will be doing the glass also. I had to watch your video for a second time because as a rule I try to always read the instructions before using a product but guess what, the instruction on the bottle are not written in French or in English; imagine that! 😝 PS. Based on my understanding of the video, you had different bottle of Bola on one side than the other, but you may have used the same name on both sides when describing the video 🤪😜. I could be wrong...though you'd want to know! Thanks for what seems to be a supper product!! Regards, Edmond M.

Hey Pan, great video. What would be the least aggressive way to remove water spots if traditional spray or clay stuff doesnt work? Do you think a simple polish will get them out? I was thinking like adams blue hand polish ? Thx
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 12 күн бұрын
Hi Joe! There are different methods to remove water spots, going from less aggressive to most aggressive, depending on how long they have been left unattended, if they started etching the surface, etc. So from less aggressive to most aggressive goes as follows: 1) Washing your car regularly. Once a week ideally (I wash my car twice weekly). Regular washing of your car really eliminates any potential minerals from staying too long on the surface. 2) An acidic soap like one of these two: goaff.pro/mlvkae bit.ly/3PJn8md 3) A mineral deposit remover (water spot remover) like this: bit.ly/3UO1UX4 4) Machine polishing (paint correction). If none of the three steps above work, you're at the point of needed mechanical intervention, rather than chemical. So you'd wash the car, absolutely use the water spot remover (always use the water spot remover before machine polishing, as you need to chemically remove the minerals before grinding them in further with polishing steps). 5) If all of the above still don't work, you know you're at the point of needing water sanding steps (followed by machine polishing) or worse, a full panel respray. If the minerals have etched through the clear coat, there's nothing else to do at that point but to repaint unfortunately. I hope this helps!

Hey pan, had a question that i really dont hear anyone talk about. That is homeade detailer. Wnated to get your opinion on an in between wipe off using a bottle of water with a few drips of car soap and a aplash of wax. ( turtle wax in my case). What i do is spray the panel liberally but not soak it and let it dwell then dry off. Of course all this in the shade and on a just washed car with light dust. Never when heavily dirty and needing washed. Thanks again for another great video and any opinions you may have. 👍

I have never had the need to use them as I have a garage, but as long as you use a quality one with a soft inner liner (to not scratch the paint) and you make sure the car is clean before putting the cover on, it should help prevent the elements from doing long term damage to the finish.

Hey Pan, I am confused about when to use a high PH shampoo vs low PH shampoo e.g. when to use carpro descale vs koch chemie super foam?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 12 күн бұрын
A high pH (alkaline) snow foam for the pre-wash is usually to remove grime and road film (the oily, greasy stuff). Examples of a high pH pre-wash snow foam are Koch Chemie Super Foam, Labocosmetica Primus 2.0, CarPro Lift, Bilt Hamber Touch-Less, and Bilt Hamber Auto-foam. The lower pH (acidic) shampoo for the bucket, like CarPro Descale and Labocosmetica Purifica, are made to remove mineral deposit accumulation and water spots. That's a 2PH system. You wouldn't use that on a weekly basis for regular washes. For weekly washes, stick to pH neutral. But once in a while, when you see your coating not behaving as it should, with good water beading and sheeting, that typically means it's clogged with road film and minerals. So once in a while, you can do a deeper clean like at the beginning of spring, to remove the winter muck. So you would start by the pre-wash (foam cannon) with the high pH snow foam. Rinse, and then move onto the contact wash (bucket) with the lower pH shampoo. To put all of that into perspective, see my ultimate spring cleaning tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYXEd3iVpZeCd9ksi=6g4pSS-lueqV0KI3

Hi Pan! Timely video. I have a ceramic coated car and have washed it weekly for about 2 years. I follow many steps to reduce micro scratches but the car is covered in them! Is this a common thing with ceramic coated vehicles?
@TheBreakfastLover
@TheBreakfastLover 18 күн бұрын
The most probable cause of micro scratches in the wash process is towel drying. Not sure what your drying method is, but deionized water rinsing then blow dry is the safest way.
@grand04gt
@grand04gt 18 күн бұрын
There are many possible reasons but if you get lots of snow or ice in winter that is highly likely the cause. Any time your touching the surface you have a chance at scratching the surface and depending which ceramic coating you use as well as all other factors will all contribute to that experience

I’ll give some more details :). So the ceramic coating is the crystal serum ultra applied by a shop after paint correction. I use micro fiber madness towels and wash mits with carpro reset soap. I do use two buckets and obviously wash the towels after each use. Could just be the factor of washing it 100+ times but I feel like there’s quite a bit for it being ceramic coated.

I purchased Bola P17S from Amazon. The bottle top was damaged, and some of the solution was in the shipping envelope. The bottle was fine, but when I went to use the P17S, I noticed a strong chemical smell. Like a strong solvent smell. Has anyone had the same strong smell of the solution to the point that I had to better ventalate my garage while applying it on my X3. Can anyone comment on this? Was your experience similar?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 17 күн бұрын
Yes there is a solvent smell to it, it’s normal. I have the same smell and Frank from Detailing Dogma channel commented the same thing as you in his video, in which P17 was more durable than its competitors.

Don’t use P17S on glass. I mentioned it in the video. And you can use both on the entire painted surface. Apply P17 first, and P17S on top for added slickness.

You can apply both products on the entire vehicle. Start by applying P17, and then once you did all the car, you can apply P17S on top. (Just don't apply P17S on the glass).

Sorry, the P17S was applied to the glass after the initial P17 was applied to the glass!!! Please advise if this presents a serious problem as I completed this last evening and just seeing your response now. Thanks...Edmond

BolaSolution doesn't recommend applying P17S on glass, as mentioned in the video, because it can leave an oily film behind. But in your case, if your glass looks crystal clear and you don't see any smudges, it's ok. Don't worry about it.
What’s the best? Wax, sealant, ceramic coating or graphene coating?
