Slipknot just can’t hire a bad drummer, Eloy absolutely murders the drums as if they owed him money, he’s considered the best drummer going around today, he’s played a fair few shows with Slipknot already, including the self titled album in full and he hasn’t missed a beat, some people are even saying he’s better than Joey, and they have a strong case when they play live now, just have to see what he brings to songwriting.

Oh man! I know your love for Joey (RIP) and I put him in the top tier as well. Talk about nostalgia, I definitely grew up in awe of him. That being said... if Joey was god-tier, then there's another one after that just called Eloy-tier. That, or he's from some alternate dimension where their drummers all start at god-tier or something. 😂 Okay, that might be a bit much, but if we just consider god-tier the top, he's among the first three that come to my mind. And for my tastes, he’d be the first among them. But, as you so accurately pointed out, these are other people's songs, where he's doing some work to stay respectfully close, etc. He has fantastic drum-cam videos out for Sepultura songs that he created the drum parts for. We'll do some of those here coming up, methinks. ;) At the same time, gotta second what @JohnEltonAguiar said-he does a drum cover of a Meshuggah song, and it's ridiculous. *Edit:* Boy was a freak as a child, winning competitions and stuff, and likely transitioned into metal because it was the only way to challenge himself. Which is not to say other genres aren't challenging it's just that he can do all the genres, the only difference would be: how fast?
