Just so that people would know, there is dev footage of the devs spawning into the game, shooting randomly, and moving up and about, there are also previous videos of Unrecorded on it's early stages, where the particle fx, and the muzzle fire looked extremely unrealistic, and the camera shake was still too much, also, a lot of people already explained how easy it is to make realistic looking textures, if you just know what you're doing, and lastly, again, to anyone who has doubts on if this really is gonna be how the game would look afterwards there are previous early stage gameplay footage, and dev footage, so if y'all can't believe my words, a quick yt search can help you, peace out.

I'll be excited for this game when it comes out. There's already been multiple fake game devs putting out amazing fake trailers/scams as well as super downgraded games that are nothing like the trailers IE (The Day Before). It's really not that hard for people that know what they're doing to make a fake trailer. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just GoPro footage they hired Corridor Crew or some other FX artists to edit and look like a video game. Especially since this team has zero previous projects to their name I'd rather wait and see what happens.

You’re saying how this is scary for horror games but I think this tech is scary when it comes to disinformation in situations like Russia Ukraine where either side could easily try to portray game clips as combat footage for propaganda purposes - they managed to do it with Arma 3 even which is crazy Loving the videos 🫶

its worth noting this is a tech demo/proof of concept, the small bit of footage uses a LOT of different smoke and mirrors techniques, when you stop and pause or go through slowly a lot of it breaks down and you can a lot of the shortcuts and techniques used

It has the "fisheye" effect and is also blurred on purpose to give it that realism, typical of the small digital cameras that police officers carry. I think it also imitates the "analog technology" usually seen in the famous "Backrooms", Espacio Liminales, Dreamcore, Weirdcore, Traumacore and similar...

Unreal Engine 5 is powerful and is free, plus the ownership of Quixel Megascan allows everyone to get their hands on many realistic-looking object and materials for free too. Yeah we live in the gaming era when more and more great tools are ready for disposal.

This remembers me of the Half Life 2 Beta leaked features, the one with arcade machines, you can play a game on the game called "manhack" wich is a flying machine with knives that attack people, but in reality you where piloting a real manhack attacking rebels and citizen on the hidding.

I think the argument of whether or not it is too realistic isn't very big as what makes people enveloped in certain games isn't always necessarily realism but rather the immersion, games like stalker anomaly or metro exodus may very well be more immersive than this game when it comes out due to the controls and other things coming into play. however when it comes to VR its a whole new can of worms, I believe it's really common for many people, even non veterans to have panic attacks when playing certain games in VR, especially when they wear those vests that try simulate being touched and shot. there's a video of a really experienced VR guy that's spent probably like 20 000 hours in VR talking about how he started being irrationally scared and whatnot when he tried wearing those vests since he was starting to be subconsciously immersed in a way different way.

@@shimik11 A 'part' of a game isn't a game 🙌 It's easy to put together a scripted piece of footage, and that can often be completely different to what actually releases; hence i will wait to see what it's like in release; and my original statment still stands, in that i have yet to see something like this actually release, but if you know know of something like this that HAS released, then ferl free to tell me what it is, and I'll have a look at it.

I saw this footage a while back, and I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't think this is a rendered video, I'm pretty sure it's go pro footage with after effects laid on the top, I'm pretty certain the bits that make it look more like a game have been done intentionally to make it look less like go pro footage.

No, its all in engine, look up their posts on their socials. They did a clever use of "censoring" the character faces so it doesnt look *too* unrealistic.

I think the problem is the way the shaky camera and the physic animations works. It gives me the vibe of a kid playing swat. it could be that current games know how to cover that with regular graphics so we dont need to think really much about it

This effect is actually really simple to recreate and is just a cheap tactic to achieve "realism". Not that it doesn't look cool, but I feel like people think it's something amazing and never-before-seen that should be put on a pedestal.

"video game" lets be honest this is not at all what it is going to look like. trailers and pre launch "gameplay" always look amazing then you get something extremely toned down and almost nothing like what they showed. Not Bashing It just be very skeptical about this ive seen stuff like this that turns out to be a fail and looks nothing like the "gameplay/trailer". Be Weary.

I've seen a video. The guy is recording his PC & traveling around the scenery using free cam & then spawned his model in first person . Your comment obviously is true but thid was a special exception
